~20 minutes in the story follows a man who is helping people addicted on the streets and going around doing his best to make sure they are ok. He’s probably seen so many horrible things and yet he’s still there trying to help. He really reminds me of what Mr Rogers said: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. Right!?.. I’m from the Albany area and this blew my mind too!! But it’s true tho, anywhere you look these days, you can easily find someone like these two sides of people 39:35. The severely addicted and those just trying to help those people. I been a addict more than half my life. Never nearly as bad as what we see here. But that’s only because I’m a functional addict and was always able to work, and because I had a fairly decent support system behind me for the most part too.. Been on subs for just under a decade now, and can honestly say that it’s legit, the only reason why I’m still here today quite frankly.. That much I’m sure of!.. But I see it through both sides. I clearly can see the huge problem behind addiction. But I can also completely understand why people choose to continue to use also. It’s a cold world out there, and most people are just trying to make it through the day one way or another. But the sad part is that we have it good here. Especially in comparison to being a hardcore addict that’s living in say a 3rd world country, where the opportunity to survive comes few and far in between!.. Shits just crazy these days and you almost never know what’s inside the drugs out in the streets. Between the fentanyl and that xylazine crap. People really out here looking like the night of the living dead unfortunately..

This is the VICE style I fell in love with almost a decade ago! I’m sure thousands of people would agree.
I love how there is no use of left or right western political biases that we all see in other documentaries for similar global issues.
This is raw, talented journalism, amazing editing and storytelling, and most of all, taking risks in conflict areas to tell a powerful story. Keep up the amazing work, VICE! 👍
May I also remind you the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shocking sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return it to rightful owners Native American people.

@@ricardomeijer7164 Exactly, these people are actually missing the point that, the Chinese are pushing drugs into the US to hurt our country. They're laughing at us right now and I guarantee you, the Triads are basically an arm of the Chinese government (CCP). Also losing 100k people a year to drug overdoes isn't that bad compared to our total population. Anybody who's willing to use heroin or fentanyl knows the consequences. I feel bad for the people who unknowingly take fentanyl and die but in LA, tons of people are shooting up for shits and gigs. Ive seen it firsthand and have known many people who have died from overdoses.

This girl is risking her life, even after the all production and upload is over. I'm not sure if she really understands what she got into...And if she does, then, that's a lot of guts man. I would never get involved in this sht in any type of way. Cartels have no boundaries. They can hit you anywhere in the world.

Best vice video in ages, was dope. Few questions make you think it's fake like high ranking certified Chinese mafia members even if they like you walking you through their whole operations telling you bare details for now reason but still overall good doc
