I love using dead coral blocks for pathblocks. Lots of interesting grey textures.
Doesn't look the best on maps though 😅
I always do the glass pane trade, 1 diamond shovel with efficiency 4 and unbreaking 3, can get you enough sand for 2700 emeralds, lava farm to smelt and your golden

Pro tip: On java, if you trade with a villager then press the space bass, it automatically selects the last trade you've made with that villager. Just makes trading a lot faster
You should name the cartographer Mappy! It’s simple, sounds good, and has a nice ring to it.
Also I think you should do the same thing you did in your 1.18 world Wattles. I love how the road was somewhat chaotic but somehow always ended up exactly where it was supposed to go!

build idea: wattles you can build a cool waterfall stream from the mountains and maybe lead it down somewhere in your base and create a hot spring of some sort. i think it would add to the aesthetics by a ton :D
edit: you could maybe do this project as a bonus build.

I feel like your village needs more water. Like a river that cuts through that comes from a waterfall.
It always amazes me how much patience u have when it comes to building with half diamond tool's. Me pesonally i get maxed enchanted tools after my first build as everything becomes sooooo easy from start to finish
I think you should change out the oak planks in the mud tower for spruce planks to break up the beige/tan coloration of the build. I tried it on my own build testing world to see if the palette would work and I think it looked a lot better. I think your buildings look great already though, this is just a suggestion :D

hi wattles!! just wanted to say the reason the breeder in mc hardcore at first was because fro some reason, for villagers to breed, you need 2+ block ceiling above them (enough for a baby to jump on it :) )ps can you check your subreddet more? there are a lot of good things people post on it
Trading Iron with Toolsmith, Armorer and Weaponsmiths is still the best source of emeralds for me. with an or multiple Iron farms running, It's really not a problem

That little area by your house and the mapmaker could be turned into a little square, perhaps with a fountain in the middle with quartz basin and cobblestone and cracked/mossy brick/cobblestone road around it
Paper is a nice way to get emeralds, but mannnnn... an iron farm with a trader hall under it gets me stacks of emerald blocks in no time. Put some armorers in the trader hall, zombify them, cure them... sell iron for 1 per emerald. Absolutely beautiful and definitely op farm.

Since the paper ideas for names are already out and someone hit up Mapples (which given your reply I’ll assume is your go to at this point) I’d just like you to consider this…cartographer sells maps-maps equal adventure-adventuring is always a good time- so let’s give the villager a name that alludes to one of the greatest Cartoon Network shows. Yup, Adventure Time. And what better tip of the hat to that fine work is there than using the name Princess Bubblegum.
Perfect.. weeelll maybe chop down the cherry tree,raise 4 blocks w dirt in same spot and regrow. After happy w tree dig up those 4 block high dirt an replace w cherry tree. Should help w sign visibility an keep the falling petals.
Wattles, I'm sure you know this but if you harvest your sugar cane with a fortune tool in hand it will apply the Fortune affect
You can buy glass from librarians and trade glass panes from the cartographer. That is one of the fastest ways to get emeralds. Also it would be funny if you named one librarian as Page.

I thought it sold you the closest undiscovered temple or mansion map, is that just a bedrock thing or did they change it? After you discover it the map should change the next buy, unless im wrong.
a little bit of white carpet on the cartography table for extra paper would be nice
Make that waterfall better and flow down more add a water wheel and maybe a little bridge somewhere then that corner will look 🔥
After the trade, just press space to make the same trade again without needing to click to the list on the left side. It could really speed up the process.
Hey wattles when you get a 3 by 3 maps you should put item frames on top of the table of cartography and build a map.

On bedrock the cartographer will give you a map to the closest mansion you have not been to yet so you have the potential of getting multiple mansions from the same cartographer

WATTLESS I NEED HELPP, my villagers are stuck on one profession no matter how many times i break their workstation they wont change profession? I broke all of the workstations in my area and theyre stuck being either a librarian or amourer
I got my villagers by posting up near a zombie spawner - it spawns zombie villagers. Lure them back to the house, cure, and poof - discounted trades for days. I have mending for 1 emerald 😊
The base needs some more water around it the colour in the cherry grove is sooo nice

Who said you had to have one OP emerald farm you could easily go back to the starter and make a second one near the zombie farm. you don't even need a villager just cure a zombie villager and make it into a cleric. You know, right then and there, where you can sell all your zombie flesh. You have your exp farm, enchantments, and and emerald farm all in one spot. Plus you also have a way to get rid of all your zombie flesh.
Also you could put a fisherman emerald farm by your spider farm, one that buys string.

when you're building with packed mud, u can use brown mushroom blocks and granite to break up the plainness
