When IPL started players didn't play for millions. When cricket started people didn't get crores. The players improved and it made viewers not the other way around. It is played in India for timepass and if ur tall enough you will get a job in government. No-one watches this game as it is quite boring.

After second thoughts i came to the opinion that this game will decide the career of some of these players...probably government jobs. And so inherently it is a selection process which is probably filled with corruption as usual. So the refs are giving wrong calls all the time and let the game go on. I dont think the players are really that bad. If allowed to play with right calls tamilnadu would have taken a blowout loss to punjab. The refs are aiding TN many a time. Blocking fouls are not called so the game looks like basket-kabadi. Still i think the player skills are quite avg for a national level finals.

I can round up a few pick up playing 40-somethings at my local gym that can school these misfits shorthanded. The only thing more abysmal than the hoops is the announcing. I can't watch anymore.
