Love the two different Slow Dancing solos. Solo 1 - the "having fun like I'm sat at home noodling seeing what cool stuff I can come up with" edition. Solo 2 - the "give the people what they want" edition
Always wondered what it would have been like to see Johnny Winter in the day. This is that feeling. I think. Been a fan of this guy since the beginning. It's great to see how far he's come. Can't wait to see, or rather, hear what's next.
@@JimmyA78 haha so far no one has filleted me so I think we all agree. Happens to the very best, even John knows by his facial expressions when he is messing up. Just nice to know even my hero messes up on stage like me lol

man, I am a deep fan of John-- is he just not sounding or seeming to be bringing a huge performance like he used to? This video just seems to be dull and void. I'm not here bashing, truly! I am genuinely curious as I am hopeful and excited to see him soon, and wondering if it is worth it? :)

4 nice two rocks on stage. good that he realizes he got his best tone with Two Rock amps. When will we see his return to a Fender Strat? When PRS stops paying him.
Those Two Rock’s are from David Ryan Harris, the other guitarist. John’s using a dumble sss, fender bassman and his two rock sig. It was his own choices to move to prs ;)
@@guusverschuuren8495 Like I said, 4 nice Two Rocks on stage. Obviously, Mayer is using one of them (with a backup behind the SSS). Sure using PRS is his choice, but Fender wouldn't pay him what he wanted for his endorsement and PRS would. So, that's what he plays, a copycat strat.

call me crazy, but Slow Dancing has gotten better over the years, every single time I see him playing it, he's adding something to it. what a legend.
Saw him last night. He was phenomenal. Even better in person
I don't think this is one of his bests versions at all
@@rcruz262 didn’t say it was 🤷♂️
I've been going through these live clips of this current tour and you're right. Some of these renditions of Slow Dancing are incredible.
Will never lose the ability to make me stop, listen and watch in awe at his incredible talent even after 20 years.
Its sounds like his voice from Continuum's era is back. Better than ever!
2:40 single string solos
3:40 thick strings solos/riffs

20 years and still coming out with highly anticipated albums and tours. He knows how to live life
Well I must admit I absolutely adore John Mayer. I fell in love with him during this "New Light" which I have seen multiple times..
i was at that concert yesterday, the man is so unbelievably talented
Crazy, I met John almost exactly 20 years ago, (Feb 2002) he was the opener for my friends band The Clarks at the TLA on South St.
Wow that's wild lol. Could you tell at the time that he was going somewhere?
Slow dancing just never gets old man :)
Thanks for this, I'm going Monday night ,NYC, I'm smiling already ❤️🎵❤️
I"ll be there .
Playing the SE SS on New Light! Gotta love it
I have an SS SE - I'm continually blown away by how good it is.
Steve Ferrone AND Pino Palladino!! What an awesome British rhythm section :-)
I can’t stop watching. Best night ever
So good PINO is back

Everyone watching John...I'm watching Mr. Tambourine man killing it!
Lenny Castro.
Loved how they started playing “Africa” after John forgot to introduce Lenny
Wish he would do 3 sets like back in the day would be soo cool to watch
I miss those days
great clear video! Thank you so much!
That kit sounds insane.
John Mayer & Keith Urban are my second favorite all time male artist. Only topped by Prince!
I totally agree with you there , prince is no 1 for me too
Thanks Jim for uploading
Wow great quality and sound, thank you !
Thanks for posting 👌... Greetings Tanja 😊
Interestingly he seems to be playing the cheaper SE Silver Sky (Green one) on New Light.
It's $949.oo 'cheaper' is a relative term LOL
@@FloridaManRacer not really, se is cheaper than the classic one.
I know John only plays with the best of the best so I'm probably nitpicking but Steve Ferrone just adds so much earthing to John's playing.
He literally made the guitar cry in slow dancing in a burning room

Awesome live performance JM
HALF OF MY HEART JAJAJA
John please please please I'm begging come in Italy please
The Rock on drums!
He looks so comfortable on stage nowadays
Did someone also notice at the end they started a Toto Africa jam? Would love to see that
Loved how John messed up so much his burning room solos with lots of off notes but still look badass lol
I was going to comment he’s rusty, but thought I’d get filleted… he’s rusty as hell lol

Rotten solo
It looked to me he was trying to go for a Derek Trucks type of solo but just flubbed the execution
Improvising with a lot of blue notes thrown in. I like it.

Slow dancing in a burning room 🔥
Now he's dressing like Clapton did on stage in the 80's
My dude using his SE silversky lets gooo
no disrespect to steve ferrone but i'd still prefer aaron sterling or steve jordan on the drums.
Shit gives me goose bumps

people commenting he playing wrong notes and that he's lost it 🤦🏽♂️🤡
Is that The Rock on drums? What can't he do!
LOL

Greg is the real deal :D
Who going to take me to Hawaii for a relaxing time?
Isaiah Sharkey is such a badass
At the end of the video, I heard like Africa from Toto
Pino Paladino on the bass
@jim powers with what did you record this?
What is the song he’s starting to play just in the end?!?!?
isaiah casually playing the BLK1

This video is dull and void because it is recorded via a small mic in a cell phone.
It's his soul slowly leaving his body from spending far too much time around hollywood pedos and liberals. Plus the new drummer sucks

Yeah
The beginning of the second solo is in the wrong key

Yuk, that was awful
Wtf was that horrible solo in slow dancing? Did not sound good or fit the tone of the song. Less is often more, and the original solo was perfect
Have you heard something called "dissonance" in music?
it's not for everybody 🤪
Agree, I am definitely a Mayer fan but that solo was... not good. Imo he was trying too hard to do fancy techniques and it didn't fit

Awesome ...needs a haircut tho.
God he’s horrible.
And you've had how many million selling CDs?
What pedal do you think he kicks in before plays the "album" solo at the end of the first solo?
Sounds like an overdrive without a lot of drive dialed in. Just enough for that mid/treble punch
