- The Takom St. Chamond French Heavy tank in 1/35 scale!
It's quite a nice kit. For the most part. The rear plate is quite a poor fit, but most of it goes together very nicely. I'm quite happy with it. It's a good representation of a quite odd design.
The multi part per link tracks weren't even the most fiddly bit...
The St. Chamond what's in the box video is here: • Takom St. Chamond - Wh...

From the TH-cam Audio Library.
This thing had a crew of 7 or 8 if I recall correctly. An absolute unit. The early version is currently on Amazon and eBay
The count of Saint Chamond is proud of you.
I have the flames of war Saint Chamond but I've always wanted a bigger one. Great video!
Well done! Hobby Boss also dose this tank. They did a full cannon for the interior and one pice tracks. The Holts track system was a bit of a Hassle to construct.
I have the Meng A7V in my stash waiting it's turn. The track system is even more detailed. Both tanks used the Holt tractor system. Very fiddly.
I built this kit last year, my favorite kit so far.
Realy Nice built man keep it up👍👍💥
Subbed just for having a name like
"Herbert Erpaderp". I heard he's a pretty cool guy.
This one definitely has my interest, though the fiddliness in a bit daunting.
It would make a good companion piece to the WW1 German tank.
Im pretty sure there is different version of the same tank from Takom that is in production which might be easier to get
There are 3 different versions it early, mid and late types.
the thine bolty things are armour plate for shrapnel
you said it right
Just finished assembling this kit and it was as fun as you described. I’m getting ready to paint now. Do you have any cleaver ideas or hints on how to paint those super narrow black lines that separate the irregular camouflage color zones of the hull paint scheme?
I haven't had any ideas, clever or not about the black lines... I'm thinking I'll just have to paint them by hand. If they were straight it'd be really simple to mask them.
@@HerbertErpaderp Thanks, that’s about all I could think to do either. I might try custom auto 1/32 or 1/64 black flex adhesive pin striping. Not sure it’ll lay flat enough though….
@@HerbertErpaderp great video and build. Wouldn't you want to paint some things before assembly? How did you manage to pain the tracks once they were set in and the guard over them?
Try one of those fine tip Sharpie markers.
@@trappenweisseguy27 Thanks, I will try that….
You have a funny name lol
That suspension is yet another example of the old saying "the French copy no-one and no-one copies the French".
Watching the build it seemed that it would be easier to build the suspension onto the bottom of the hull rather tan build it all up then attach it to the hull. Maybe a Frenchman wrote the instructions?
Anyway, I hope you do paint it soon. The French had some fun camo schemes that look like they were intended for use on other planets. The scheme on the box for instance.
I see the box states "Modeling skills helpful if under 14 years of age." I guess if you're older, skills won't help.
Lol

What a silly, silly model. I need one at some point.
