I have had the coil twice, once when I was peri menopause, I went private, the gynaecologist said once I went into menopause I needed the other half of HRT, my Gp refused me. Then my coil ran out I need a new one, I was told by NHS you can’t have one because your in menopause. The NHS IS screwed up. I moved house and got a young GP lady, she saved my life, she got my coil fitted, and my patches sorted. It took a few months for me to feel normal. But I think it’s the best combination for HRT. I feel great now, the shit that some of these GP’s come out with is scary. They need educating on the menopause. No woman she be denied HRT, in my opinion. It’s easy to get it right and these doctors should know better…
Was on patches for 4 weeks but because of shortages I switched to Estrogel Pro which includes progesterone tablets. I feel fantastic, skins great, anxiety has lifted its like a miracle, am sleeping better and am losing weight around my abdomen. Im 52 and am in Australia. I had been experiencing anxiety and was put on Lexapro which was awful. it finally clicked with me that the anxiety was hormonal. HRT has been amazing.
Oh! My doctor gave me Lexapro and I took it for a few years but I got off of it because of the side effects. I only just figured out that my depression is related to perimenopause. I'm so glad to hear that you feel so much better! I need to call my doctor.
American here.... it's not any better for us to try to get help and relief from Menopause. There is no one size fits all treatment over here either. I feel part of the problem is that the subject is not taught in medical school and there is not nearly enough research into how to treat the awful symptoms. They have tons of clinics for low T and ED for men but women are pushed aside or as you said treated with anti depressants when that is not our issue. And the cost is another problem as it is usually out of pocket. Hopefully in the future better treatment will help those who follow us into this nightmare called menopause.
I had progesterone intolerance as well. I now use Prometrium micronized progesterone 100 mg every other day vaginally. It has made a huge difference. As for estrogen I have tried many different forms. It truly is a process & you have to be your own advocate. Trust how you feel! You can feel normal again. Maybe not like when you were in your 30’s lol but much better. I just turned 60 and have been dealing with a very tough perimenopause & menopause since my mid 40’s. Every symptom out there. HRT has helped most symptoms but still working on it. I’ve been menopausal since I was about 56.
I'm 61 now, and had been recently diagnosed with a mini prolapse and osteoarthritis. I had some symptoms still with regards the menopause and so I asked my doctor about going onto HRT. I had done quite a bit of research and the lack of estrogen so I thought my doc should surely agree and would put me onto HRT, alas all I was offered initially was anti depressants. Now move forward a couple of months and after being referred to a specialist at the menopause clinic, and her making me aware of all the side effects of HRT, I then had to make her aware of the benefits, anyway long story short, I am now on the gel and the nightly progesterone pill. Early stages at the min, but seems to be helping. I was also prescribed ovestin cream, which is amazing, I would suggest that to everyone
A very down-to-earth video, so thank you. My perimenopause has been horrendous. However, HRT has kept me out of the danger zone physically and mentally. It has not changed my life or made me feel 100% like me but it really helps. I think part of the problem is that we can start to experience horrid symptoms during perimenopause when everything is fluctuating wildly. HRT can help but can also add to the discombobulation. I found doctors to be generally useless in knowing what to prescribe - for example, prescribing tablets when I had migraines, which shouldn't be done. Transdermal HRT is the way to go. In the end I did go private and it was worth every penny to get some clear answers and a clear prescription. We should not have to go private and I hope GPs get better at understanding and prescribing (Newson Health training should help). I don't think I will ever feel fully like me again until I get through menopause and reach a more settled stage. As you say, the key is to try and keep things as stable as possible and allow HRT to settle before changing anything.
Thanks so much for this video, just started on Evorel Sequi 50 patches today, I'm peri menopausal age 47 and found this to be really helpful and informative. I am a scientist who is aware that there is no 'one size fits all' for any medication as you rightly point out. Individualised medicine is the way forward but unfortunately with the NHS it's often money that matters most. Hopefully with more people like you sitting on your local council and advocating for women like us, health will change for the better. I commend you🙏 Dosage is really important too and I'm sure can be tricky to get right. Especially when we can't use blood tests to monitor levels and we don't know what our baseline was before we began HRT
Thank you for sharing your story, I’m now 67 and have been through a roller coaster with and without HRT. Had lovely GP when perimenopause hit me hard with horrendous heavy periods, fitted me with a Mirena coil, made a massive difference and I could then function normally, then the dreaded misinformation report re HRT and breast cancer risks appeared and I had just moved to rural Suffolk and was advised to come off HRT. Since then I have had a whole range of symptoms, tried patches, then during Covid spent a fortune on online appointments with private menopause specialist, put on gel and uterogestan, had bad effects with the progesterone and was advised to take every other day which triggered a heavy period out of the blue, 10 yrs after my last one, on a plane on my way to Corsica, so stopped taking everything and saw local GP who will only prescribe combined patches, tried those and ended up with migraines. So I’m still battling to get what I feel my body needs!!
I've just found your videos and finding them very interesting! Now 62 years old and been on HRT for many years. Such a juggle to find the one 'for you' and it seems every few years I've had to change mine. I've just been through doctors and specialist treatment over last 6 months and all change again. Phew!! Getting there again now though!! Planning on staying on for xx years going forward, so many advantages for good health !!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with the whole menopause HRT journey you’re on. I’ve just started estradiol (lowest dose patch) and micronised progesterone (May 27 this year) at the age of 59. My periods stopped at age 50! At that time I didn’t have all the info I have now…. but listening to Dr Louise Newson has helped me immensely. Then coming across your channel is giving the confidence to go and see my care provider and request the coil. It’s knowing what to ask for that’s the key . Being informed! Please know you are highly appreciated.
The pill lifted brain fog within an hour helped with anxiety and libido . It caused yeast overgrowth, aura around eyes and yellowing soI stopped. Now I’m on the patch and progesterone capsule but it is not relieving symptoms. Progesterone makes me feel nauseous and green. I’ll wait for six week mark and look into higher dose or gel. I’m grateful for my new doctor who is menopause friendly. My previous doctor wanted to put me on antidepressants for hot flashes. Not acknowledging my other symptoms. I’m glad I’m with a better doctor.
Thank you for this video. Everyone on YT seems to say that HRT is so easy but it's not for a lot of women. They say 10 to 15% have progesterone "intolerance" but I'm wondering if it's not even more. As one of these women, I'm still struggling to find the right dosage / molecule / doctor for the progesterone. All doctors specialised in menopause on YT do not answer to questions regarding progesterone intolerance. And it's even worse with the "regular" GP or gynecologists because they know even less and often don't want to prescribe it. I'm in France, but what I see is that it's the same in the UK and US.
I have been married for 24 years and have a 20 year old. During Covid 2020 i thought i was pregnant. I discovered at a very stressful time that i was going through “ the change” Thank goodness for instagram and doing my research on health and nutrition. I was able to locate a GP (functional) who i asked straight out that i wanted Progesterone and the patch. She asked if i wanted compounded testosterone and i said, “sure!” I added 5htp as a supplement for sleep and mood. I do go to a Naturopathic doctor and don’t have as much stress in my life. This seems to be working for time being. Thank you for your video. I am always interested in what other people are going through on their journey. I’m in the U.S so i think hrt in more readily available.
My wife just started the estradiol gel a few months ago after months of trying to explain to her that all of us husband and kids were going to divorce her. And we couldn’t walk on eggshells anymore. So she came home with the gel and Paxil. I wasn’t happy about the Paxil her already non existent libido was going to get worse. But the gel helped the hot flashes and she doesn’t get into detail but I suggest maybe you need to try some testosterone also and I was snapped at. But I’ve watched many videos that the testosterone is what actually helped significantly. Wish whis video spoke about the original HRT Dr that prescribed gel and testosterone and why she never got the testosterone. I’m in America so I haven’t heard of some of the medications you were speaking of. I don’t know let me know if you have anything to say about the testosterone pls. Thanks
I wish I cpuld get an advice from a good Naturopathic doctor! As someone who has been underweight for several years (anorexia), I've been recommended to try HRT to help with my bone health and hormonal balance. I am very causious as I am still young and do not like taking syntetically made drugs and meds. I am so undecided what to do... The research is very mixed... Also, I worry about the side effects (short term and long term). I believe in nature and our body's ability to heal itselft but HRT also seems promising... What's your point of view on that? :)
Thank-you, SO much for your transparency. I sometimes wonder if the doctors are trying to kill us hormonal, women off. I’ve been described anything & everything.
It's so infuriating when you tell the doctor what's going on and they don't believe you or don't listen because they're the "experts". I know my body!!!!
Thanks for telling the truth. All I hear on youtube is how great everyone feels. Im 10 years past menopause and felt i should hurry and try hrt before its too late. Ive been worried and trying to get used to hrt and its been a challenge. Haven't ever found a doctor that knew what they were doing. Starting hrt years after menopause is giving me symptoms of menopause all over.
Yes...right there with you. Was put on estradiol patches and oral progesterone and after 2 weeks my whole body hurt, I felt like I was getting a yeast infection and my breast's hurt and I couldn't sleep.
Bio identical creams... USP Progesterone and Estrogen = Estradiol and Estriol. Change the diet too. Then supplements.. You can order the creams online. It's a trial and error process. But they do work. Or go to a hormone specialist if its feasible.
Never take oral Progesterone. I'd never take anything without researching. Transdermal progesterone or pessaries for internal. So it's not going through the liver so much.. must women can't take it orally. Rub it on neck face and soles of your feet. Even forearms.
I,ve just had a mirena coil fitted today and given oestraclin gel. I,ve suffered for years with symptoms and finally give in and went to gynocologist. I live in Spain and was dreading going and getting lost in translation but luckily I got a lady gyno that spoke fluent English and the coil and estrogen gel was her recommendation. First day today so I,m hoping it works. Thats how I,ve came accross your video by researching, all be it after the coil fitting but lets see x
Hope it helps (I used to live in Madrid so I know that fear!!!) Your gynae sounds like she knows her stuff. Remember the coil can take a while to settle and I was advised to take anti-histamines for a while to help with this. Seemed to work! Let me know how it goes. x
Omg I can so relate to you , put on anti depressents & anxiety meds doc tried me on 3 different ones . Finally he upped me to highest dose . 5 years later I was still the same ! I myself went the gp got HRT easy after 2 years still having low mood swings . Now on 4 pumps of estrogen gel , utrogeston I feel makes my mood really low . I’ve this week upped my utrogeston to 200mg vaginally
Thank you for sharing, it took four years for me before they discovered I have progesterone sensitivity. I’m now taking Duavee ….. I have my life back but I’m upset that I had struggled for so long, when I could’ve been thriving like I finally am again . I only wish that Pfizer would make a transdermal Duavee .
You’re the first person who’s mentioned Duavee! I’m progesterone intolerant and asked my GP for this by name but was told Nope: we can’t prescribe that in the UK 😫 Do you mind if I ask what country you’re in? 17:03
I'm 60 and been on hrt 10 years . I started on the combined patch and loved it then there was a shortage and also I was wary as the progesterone in it was synthetic. I've been on oestrodot patch and coil then had coil out after 5 year and thought I'd stop and see what happens and within a week the intense heat was back day and night. The gp gave me utrogeston tablets which I was told can use vaginally but even on the patches and coil I still would get heat intolerance at leat once a day . I can't handle it and want to go back on it but would like to go back on the evoril conte again .
Excited to have found your channel! I have been on hrt for about 3 months. Prior to starting it I was considering antidepressants - was very depressed despite therapy and also struggling with intrusive thoughts. I didn’t realize how much this was due to hormones, and just in the last couple of weeks I have seen a real improvement ( unexpected by me) in these things as well as the usual symptoms. Such a relief!
@@50Sense - Can u help- what hormones were you taking? that helped ......- I really need help as what HRT to take ....for insomnia etc.. - I appreciate any help I can get❤❤❤
Thank You for speaking about this. In 3 months time I will be 61 yrs. old. But about 4 years ago I started to feel a lot of pain in my joints & bones & Pains in my feet & No libido. A few months ago after begging & pleading with them at GP's surgery I wanted my blood checked out of curiousity I wanted to know what my actual hormones levels were, It was a Male Nurse that did my blood test & I would find out the actual analysis when the results came back. When I returned to see him about my analysis/results all he said was that I was Post-Menopausal & That was that! I wasn't given any advice or any HRT Medication or anything at all !! Basically I was just sent on my merry way with nothing ziltch nada! Waste of time & Totally useless! The U.K is pathetic in treating the menopause, It's the 21st century NOT Prehistoric caveman days! & Now they want to treat us with C.B.T. which is total quackery! I'm going to have to skint myself to pay to go Private Doctors to get the help I desperately need. x
Do your research it really helps. Look into every aspect. VitB complex and Magnesium Glycinate/Malatate at night. I recommend Maca powder and Indian Ginseng.
@@jessicahitchens6926 Who? Me? I have tried those remedies & Other herbal remedies as well. Please do not insult my intelligence with your "Do your research" remark! Every woman is totally different, It's not a one size fits all scenario! I paid to get all my proper test levels done & Now on the correct medicine & No, I didn't take the jibby jab or wear a face nappy or clap like a demented seal on Thursday evenings! See 'ya later Karen! lol.
I have been on an Estrogen only hrt patch since the beginning of post menopause, which was confirmed by bloodwork that checked my hormone levels. I have had the milligrams increased once but never had any issues with it at all. I recently found out that my testosterone is undetectable in my bloodwork and tried a specially compounded cream with testosterone in it (because testosterone isn’t approved for women) and I broke out in hives all over my body. I’ve decided to stick with my patches and not do anything else.
@@LadyNYC211 Interestingly though, I still have some progesterone showing up in my lab work. That’s why they put me on Estradiol only hrt patches. 🤷♀️
Strange how we all react differently. When the merina coil was given to me in my early 30s for contraception and heavy periods, it worked brilliantly but then when I was given it again in my 40s, it made me suicidal! Had to take it out! Estragel gel and progesterone tablets seem to work better for me. I still suffer with terrible fatigue though and I’m also on antidepressants
I have been taking Evorel sequi patches the first few ones in the box make me feel okay by the ones at the back thy make me feel so down and unhappy and then I’m on periods again but still feeling unhappy that I don’t know why I exist. So I have rang my doctors to ask for the gel as it’s a stronger dose
I started this journey 4 years and 3 months ago. Still trying to get the sleep I need and stop the hot flashes among a few other symptoms. Like you I did not know if I was in menopause yet and the doctor kept trying to treat my hot flashes with estrogen. I thought I might still be in perimenopause because I would bleed heavy and the hot flashes would still be hanging on. I did tell the doctor, I think I might be in perimenopause still, hoping he would explain another way of dealing with the hot flashes and night sweats. Recently I learned that testosterone can also help with these pesky hot flashes. I think the hormones all work so intricately together. Also I have been having terrible bouts of insomnia and the doctor just said to take melatonin. I recently learned again testosterone can help with this as well. I would like to know if I am still perimenopausal so treatment and relief would be more efficient. If they do an ultra sound will they be able to tell if I am still in perimenopause?
A scan could show if you still have egg-producing follicles - that's how I know my right ovary is still active (dammit!). Adding flaxseed to your diet is a good way to help with hot flashes. Check out my article with nutritionist Jackie Lynch www.50sense.net/the-happy-menopause-review-a-nutrition-book-to-eat-up/
I started taking HRT 2 year’s post menopause about 8 weeks ago because I couldn’t handle the hot flashes anymore And I want to protect my brain, bones and sleep better. I’m on the oestrogen gel And progesterone tablets continuously. Iv had a lot of bloating and a couple of periods so Iv decided to reduce my gel to 1 pump instead of two. I’m going to monitor and if my symptoms come back I’ll go back up to 2 pumps of gel. As of right now my hot flashes have completely stopped I’m sleeping better, I’m more motivated my joints don’t ache like they did so I’m happy however the bloating and weight gain isn’t oestrogen is a growth hormone and progesterone is a taken to prevent the growth of the uterine lining so I’m assuming it’s the gel that’s causing the bloating it’s what gave us our curves during puberty and makes use breasts fill out. I’m taking the progesterone vaginaly so it’s not in my bloodstream and is more effective at preventing the lining growth. I’ll keep you updated on my results Fingers crossed this will help someone
Wow i never had this problem , a treatment not to work and try another 5. I was lucky I was out on compounded creams and slowly i creased the dose . Now I do patches . Mental issues gone like a miracle , hot flashes and heart palpitations gone , headaches gone . I still have some joint issues but overall I am a brand new person . I’m 50 and started one yr ago .
Thanks for your video. I really enjoyed listening to your story although makes me sad what we have to go through. I’m in the middle of struggling again and don’t know what to do next. I was on hrt Livial tabs for 9yrs after my full hysterectomy then 2yrs ago aged 51 BAM I was hit with all these symptoms. Way worse than just anxiety and hot flushes. I had some cbt talking therapy as I was very low and put on Everol 50. This didn’t work so put on 75 then 100. Anyhow 2 hrs I was ok. Then about 6mths ago I noticed changes. I started getting a rash under my patch and they were lifting due to redness. Then symptoms started again so finally phoned the GP who changed me to estradot patches. A couple of days in and the rash started with those. Few weeks later I called the GP again and now on Estrogel 75mg. Omg I’m having nausea and shakes every time I apply to my inner thigh. Couldn’t go into the office today and now sat here crying watching menopause videos 😢
Im confused about why the progestin patch made you miserable but the coil didn't? Having PMDD, i just want my period to go away. High dose progesterone helps PMDD but when taken orally it turns into alopregnenalone which the GABA receptors can be sensitive to in PMDD so im not sure if i will do so well with oral which I'm switching to soon because of issues with high dose transdermal progesterone building up in tissues. I feel absolutely horrible on non body identical progestins so bioidentical progesterone is my only opinion and in the US, there is only a pill available that is bioidentical. No transdermal options. Im hoping i can take the pill and use estrogel continuously to stop my period even though im only 36. I am starting perimenopause.
My journey sounds a little similar to yours and now have just been given the gel to try! What happened about the testosterone part as I forced the doctor to test my level which is also incredibly low! Thank you for sharing your experience ❤
Hello, I love your talks and am going through some of the things you mention. I live in another european country, but I see that this topic and sometimes the lack of updating and knowledge of some doctors is common in all places..... They need to listen to us more on this matter. To our sensations, symptoms, etc. Estrogen is our "Goddess" and it has always been so vital to women that in our ancient past it really was treated as Divine, "Ostara". Thank you for this space of sharing informatio and experiences!❤
Yes I’m currently on oestrogen gel and utrogestan 6pumps and 2 tablets every night consistently and I still don’t feel right and I’ve been taking this particular hrt now for a few months and yet I still feel like crap and I’ve had to go private aswell as the doctor just doesn’t want to know 😢
I’ve been on depo provers till age of 53. Then was pit on 1 mg hrt gel and utrogestan. It worked fine for about 2 years and then felt lots of symptoms again, then been put on femseven conti patch. Worked well but symptoms are back, feel tired, fatigue, low mood, brain fog and sore bones and breasts!! Feel desperate to feel better again!!
Really great and informative video. I was put on HRT after a total hysterectomy with BSO age 55 still not menopausal at time of surgery (3 years ago). I am one of the lucky ones who felt better straight away on it. I guess because without ovaries I don’t have hormonal fluctuations. It is a bit of a challenge to try different dosages. I’ve tried patches (Estradot then Evorel as Estradot is out of stock) and now oestrogel.
I just saw your previous video from Spain - glad I found this one which explained a lot for me. I might be progesterone sensitive as I am having a lot of the side effects you described. In addition, I am having weight gain and bloating even though I exercise a lot every day and also something that really bothers me, although some women might not find it objectionable: My boobs have grown 2 sizes and are tender. Have you had this happen to you? I am on the lowest estradiol dose patch - 0.025. The breast fattening drives me insane-I hate it so much, that it’s one of the main reasons I am considering quitting HRT. My only hope is that maybe if I change the progesterone to coil I might not have this side effect, but at the same time am terrified as coil is quite a commitment to it.
Only just found your channel and so glad to have done so 😊 I was started on Evorel Sequi (50 )around 7 months ago and like yourself initially felt some improvement but a couple of months in started to feel worse again so spoke to a GP at my surgery who was a little unsure what to suggest but concluded on my trying adding an extra 25 patch as well to try for a month which I did and did notice an improvement so after this additional pack was nearly used made an appointment to speak to the nurse to request more extra patches as I wanted to continue with this higher dose. The nurse advised she wasn't happy for me to be wearing 2 seperate patches and wasn't sure why the doctor had suggested this and would look into it and called me back a short time after to suggest a low dose SSRI which I declined (and I also do not want a coil) so am a little in limbo as I don't know if the Sequi patches come in 75 dose? (I mean the Conti part of the packs) and ideally I would rather not have tablets (not trying to be picky or awkward but this is about our personal choice over what we take and use). The nurse had suggested the gel in the conversation prior to speaking to the pharmacist who suggested the SSRI as I am still taking Cerazette but am assuming it doesn't contain enough progesterone on its own? Would love to find a workable solution as I don't want to reduce the dose as I have definitely noticed my irritability has returned to 'normal' me instead of dragon me lol I also feel more should be done to educate about menopause in secondary schools as not sure about everyone else but I remember women going through 'the change' being spoken of but never really knowing what it meant till I was much older and think if they can talk about periods and pregnancy this is just as important a subject to also be advised on. Again thank you for your excellent channel and will definitely be visiting your other videos too! Xx

Great video. So you completely came off HRT? I have suffered terribly from palpitations and the Oestrogel hasn't fixed it for me. I can't increase the dose because the HRT has made my fibroids worse 😞 I think you make a very important point about external stressors affecting us too. They have recently found out the palpitations for many women are caused by vasomotor symptoms interacting with stress. The stress component is very important!

Hi SecretSandra1 - Persist! It can take up to 3 months for HRT to settle into your body. Most people start feeling a difference about 3-4 weeks in. Your GP should have told you that!
I've been on HRT since a year at the age of 53, I bad a biopsy on the womb everything clear they I serted mireena coil and put me on estradot HRT patches I've increased along the way as my symptoms weren't getting better , now I'm on 100mg patches , I've been spotting and having periods for a years , it stops for few weeks then I'm back to stage 1! There sending me for an ultrasound scan on 25th and if all clear there going to put me on utrageston for night to help with my sleep anxiety, anxiety which I suffer from this horrible menopause. ❤
I live in the US. I have been on .05 Estrogen patch and 100 oral progesterone for almost a year now. Been post menopausal for two years. I’m 53. It changed my life over night. I had to ask for it and stand firm on it. It’s astounding to me how doctors aren’t really trained in the area of menopause. I believe the benefits of HRT are helping to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease. It basically cuts out having to go to multiple doctors for each health issue. It’s all about the money. Sad to say. Just my opinion.
Can anyone help - I suffer from chronic migraines, and I was recently prescribed Evorel Sequi due to perimenopause related depression and anxiety. It made my depression worse and my migraines were unbearable just 7 days in to using the patches. I have a GP appointment in two weeks and I don’t know what to ask for. I’m scared that I’ll be prescribed something else that makes me worse. I’m quite fragile just now and have a lot of responsibilities so I worry about getting this wrong. Anyone out there with migraines who can recommend a next step? I have a mirena coil already.
I am not sure if it was progesterone. I was on this Prometrium 100mg per day for a month and I ended up feeling horrible. My mental clarity became worse and my balance and coordination went down the drain. I felt absolutely down in the dumps. Maybe I was on too high a dose of estrogen at the same time. I completely stopped the HRT and want my body to reset itself. I feel much better now but tiredness is taken its toll on me. I am really feeling very awful.
Hi iv just watched yr channel on yutube i srarted my menapause journey wen i was 51iam now 67 and still on estradot patches cause i cant get rid ov my sweats even though i had acyst removed from my ovaries about 7yr ago and as i have had newmorouse treatment nothing is working for me i also take venofaxine for my anxiaty i dnt know wat else i could do
Where do I start. I'm on Utrogestan 1 pill and Everol 50 patches and I feel like sh*te. I was put on venlafaxine in 2018 because I was diagnosed with breast cancer and taken off HRT immediately. I basically wish they had left me alone with my HRT. My BC was found in a routine mammogram and due to having very dense breast tissue, my GP has always told me to keep an eye on it and have my mammograms. Back then there was a scare that HRT causes breast cancer which is not the case. So here I am today. I wanted to come off venflaxine which is an anti depressant, and fix the hot flushes and feeling horrible problem with hrt. Back in the day I was on femerston conti but they now recommend the body identical Utrogestan and Oestrogen patches. Well as far as I'm concerned these things make me feel worse. I'm about to go back to my GP and ask for something else. Maybe I should try the gel and the coil, I have no idea but something has to be done. Thanks for sharing your experience. Can I ask what you're on now? Coil and gel? I'm going to pay privately to get the testosterone for women too that you can get in Australia but not yet here. Maybe that's the missing piece of the puzzle, who knows 🤷🏽♀️
I was same on the progesterone sequi I had bad pmt it got worse every month 2 weeks terrible. I then got everol conti no break was a big improvement. Cos it was same hormones every day I feel like I had a balance.
I'm just going to put it out there...has anyone found an ideal treatment/treatment combo that deals with weight gain, psychological warfare 💣😂 and other nasty symptoms of menopause?
Can I ask if the progesterone tablets made you tired ?
Im so glad to hear about your experience, im about to start estrogel pro i hope to have the same success experience as u. Tks
Try the cream. Progesterone is needed the most..
Thank goodness for social media educating me about perimenopause 🎉
Great comment. Thank you!
Great post. Thank yhou for sharing x
I'm so glad I can help. Good luck and let me know how you get on x
Try micronized progesterone vaginally. It doesn’t give you the side effects as taking it orally.
Brilliant that you took action so quickly! Yours is a great story x
I’m going through hell trying to get hrt right for me x
Let me know how it goes. x
Which area of Spain do you live and what is the name of your Ginecologist?
Pfizer stopped the sales of Duavee in 2017 in France. Pff, it seems that they don't want women feel good (all over the world)
You’re the first person who’s mentioned Duavee! I’m progesterone intolerant and asked my GP for this by name but was told Nope: we can’t prescribe that in the UK 😫
Do you mind if I ask what country you’re in?
I’ve just came off Everol combo felt I was going crazy terrible sweats dizzy x
Thank you for this. It’s soooo helpful 🩷
Great to hear you're getting help!
@@50Sense - Can u help- what hormones were you taking? that helped ......- I really need help as what HRT to take ....for insomnia etc.. - I appreciate any help I can get❤❤❤
I would be concerned about the Mirena coil because it has been showed it increases the risk for meningiom (Brain tumor)
I was put on everol conti last year and I'm in perimenapause
Thank You for speaking about this. In 3 months time I will be 61 yrs. old. But about 4 years ago
I started to feel a lot of pain in my joints & bones & Pains in my feet & No libido. A few months ago after
begging & pleading with them at GP's surgery I wanted my blood checked out of curiousity I wanted
to know what my actual hormones levels were, It was a Male Nurse that did my blood test & I would
find out the actual analysis when the results came back. When I returned to see him about my
analysis/results all he said was that I was Post-Menopausal & That was that! I wasn't given any advice or
any HRT Medication or anything at all !! Basically I was just sent on my merry way with nothing ziltch nada!
Waste of time & Totally useless! The U.K is pathetic in treating the menopause, It's the 21st century NOT
Prehistoric caveman days! & Now they want to treat us with C.B.T. which is total quackery! I'm going to have to
skint myself to pay to go Private Doctors to get the help I desperately need. x
CBT has been pushed on girls and women since 1998. It's all money saving bollocks.
You need some type of progesterone while on Estrogen.
@@LadyNYC211 Interestingly though, I still have some progesterone showing up in my lab work. That’s why they put me on Estradiol only hrt patches. 🤷♀️
How did you get hold of testosterone cream?
@@ethereumrise7860 My dr wrote a prescription for it to a compounding pharmacy.
However, my new dr said for me to get DHEA over the counter and take 5mg daily and it will help increase my testosterone levels.
As of right now my hot flashes have completely stopped I’m sleeping better, I’m more motivated my joints don’t ache like they did so I’m happy however the bloating and weight gain isn’t
oestrogen is a growth hormone and progesterone is a taken to prevent the growth of the uterine lining so I’m assuming it’s the gel that’s causing the bloating it’s what gave us our curves during puberty and makes use breasts fill out.
I’m taking the progesterone vaginaly so it’s not in my bloodstream and is more effective at preventing the lining growth. I’ll keep you updated on my results Fingers crossed this will help someone
I'm taking Sandrena gel and have a permanently bloated stomach. So annoying!
Yes I’m currently on oestrogen gel and utrogestan 6pumps and 2 tablets every night consistently and I still don’t feel right and I’ve been taking this particular hrt now for a few months and yet I still feel like crap and I’ve had to go private aswell as the doctor just doesn’t want to know 😢
Maybe you need to lower your pump doses . My doctor told me to use only one pump .
Its the fatigue I cant coprbwith. Im on evorel
Not everyone can take Progesterone orally and it goes through the liver. I think the creams are better in my research.
Only just found your channel and so glad to have done so 😊
I was started on Evorel Sequi (50 )around 7 months ago and like yourself initially felt some improvement but a couple of months in started to feel worse again so spoke to a GP at my surgery who was a little unsure what to suggest but concluded on my trying adding an extra 25 patch as well to try for a month which I did and did notice an improvement so after this additional pack was nearly used made an appointment to speak to the nurse to request more extra patches as I wanted to continue with this higher dose.
Would love to find a workable solution as I don't want to reduce the dose as I have definitely noticed my irritability has returned to 'normal' me instead of dragon me lol
I also feel more should be done to educate about menopause in secondary schools as not sure about everyone else but I remember women going through 'the change' being spoken of but never really knowing what it meant till I was much older and think if they can talk about periods and pregnancy this is just as important a subject to also be advised on.
Again thank you for your excellent channel and will definitely be visiting your other videos too!
Xx
Thank you - and thank you for sharing your story. It's by sharing that we can change the change!!
Cerazette gave me depression and it’s quite a common side effect so maybe have a look into that too x
@@hannahbeko6619 Oh that's terrible! Thankfully I haven't encountered that aspect from it but thank you for your reply and hope you are feeling much better now x

I’m about to start the patch and 200 mg of progesterone for six weeks.

If you're doing well and there's no medical reason to swap, then I'd say go with doing well!
Do you know that doctors at school.. they have approximately One day of lessons on women’s cycles, or anything on this topic.. they don’t teach it !

Have you had any result yet?
Sounds like you need to increase your progesterone dosage
I live in the US. I have been on .05 Estrogen patch and 100 oral progesterone for almost a year now. Been post menopausal for two years. I’m 53. It changed my life over night.
I had to ask for it and stand firm on it. It’s astounding to me how doctors aren’t really trained in the area of menopause. I believe the benefits of HRT are helping to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease. It basically cuts out having to go to multiple doctors for each health issue. It’s all about the money. Sad to say. Just my opinion.
I am on oestrogel and seidigestan 200mg and vagifem tablet. Its alot eh. 😢
Can you explain by the iud coil with progesterone needed to settle down? I too have extreme progesterone intolerance! You explained it very well!!
Thanks very much. It really helped me alot.
Glad to hear that!
Thank you, do you use compounded testosterone? thanks so much, so helpful
I don't. I'm not certain about testosterone for me, but I know women who do take it. I'm just not sure if I need it or not!
What is the name of the dr You suggested following on tick tock?
Here you go - Dr Nighat Arif. She has a new book out too that I'll be reviewing soon www.tiktok.com/@drnighatarif?lang=en
I need hrt... I had a hysterectomy last year and I am an emotional wreck anymore. Hot flashes, joint pain, depression and crying all the time. 😢
After I had a hysterectomy I was put on Estrafem. 1mg. Had no problems whatsoever
@@janschubart4419 I just finally started the estradiol patch this week. In 2 weeks I'm going to go up a little bit in dose but it's working
I’ve just started with Evorel Conti patches (age 59), hoping they work for me! I’ll let you know
Good luck - remember they can take some time to settle into your body x
I am not sure if it was progesterone. I was on this Prometrium 100mg per day for a month and I ended up feeling horrible. My mental clarity became worse and my balance and coordination went down the drain. I felt absolutely down in the dumps. Maybe I was on too high a dose of estrogen at the same time. I completely stopped the HRT and want my body to reset itself. I feel much better now but tiredness is taken its toll on me. I am really feeling very awful.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you discussed it with anyone? There are other forms you might be able to take x
Thank you for this video you can't even see you r doctor 😭😭

How long are you in menopause please thanks
Symptoms can last around 10 years, but it varies from person to person
Just a question do we have to stay on HRT forever?
It's entirely up to you! Some women do, others come off it.
@@50Sense thanks so much for the fast response. 😊
What causes neausa vertigo please thanks l am on evorol Conti patches
Dizziness can be a side effect. If it doesn't ease, please see your healthcare provider.
Bloody doctors .. they just have no idea. Im on gel and tablet. Starting today.
Coil and gel - you can rarely get testosterone here!
I was same on the progesterone sequi I had bad pmt it got worse every month 2 weeks terrible. I then got everol conti no break was a big improvement. Cos it was same hormones every day I feel like I had a balance.
Eostre, is another name for the ancient goddess
I never knew this - and I love it!!!!! Thanks
I'm just going to put it out there...has anyone found an ideal treatment/treatment combo that deals with weight gain, psychological warfare 💣😂 and other nasty symptoms of menopause?
Good question!!! 😅
❤❤
My GPS don't give a damn
Sadly, many don't seem to realise how bad menopause can be.
Unfortunately You really have to advocate for yourself these days, especially with hrt
You need to go to a homeopath as well to balance the moods. This is for any age..
