Came here because of your epic performance of John Cage's " 4'33" " (a work which gives full flight to my personal talent as a classical guitarist). Wonderful performance of this ground-bass. If I may suggest an alternative version, there's a beautiful transcription by Nataly Makaovskaya on modern classical guitar on TH-cam (tho the piece is mistakenly attributed to Purcell). Have subscribed to your channel ... all the best from Canada!
Thank you for a wonderful performance and footage! Can you please share with us what microphone did you use? Because the clarity and tone is just amazing.
@@OpheliaEnsemble thank you for the answer! For some reason I thought of Sennheisers. I should say your performance has inspired me to start studying sheet music, and now I play alongside with you on a guitar following the notes on the sheet which is a miracle to me (I had only played folk music before, mostly Nick Drake). So thank you for the inspiration. God bless you!
Well done and thank you. It is very beautiful. The sheet music found on the internet (via musescore) is in C Minor and for guitar. I play the renaissance lute and I would like to know if you have transposed to another key easier for the lute, (you are apparently like me in 415 ?) Thank you for your answer. (In E Minor, would that seem to fit well enough?)
@@OpheliaEnsemble Thanks a lot... Should try a transcription for my luth in G, through the sheet music from musescore ! (Musescore now has the option of entering lute tablature, but it is sometimes easier and faster with a pencil or live !)... Hope to hear you again on ytube !
Great playing and nice video! The colour filter that has been applied on the video looks good - I must figure out whether PowerDirector has something similar!
this interpretation has certain swing quality, as if it's a blues... most renditions I've heard played the introductory notes very equal. I'd love to have a score for classical guitar.
Thank you! It would have been impractical to shoot the video with an audience, cameras all over, several takes, me sitting with my back to the audience.
One rarely hears such modest and heartfelt performances on the lute.
Very elegant.
Thank you! Your comment would be much appreciated anyway, but coming from such an accomplished and masterful channel, it really gives us a boost!
A beautiful performance🎶👌thx for posting, a joy to listen
Thank you!
Very, very beautifully played, Maestro!
Many thanks!
Бесподобный звук и техника исполнения! Браво, мастер! 🎶😇
Maravillosa interpretación llena de sentimiento y sensibilidad artística...soberbio!
Excellent audio from a well made and played Elizabethan lute. Thank you.
Thank you for commenting!
Absolutely gorgeous piece. Many thanks. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.
I adore this one. I can listen to it for hours. Compliments!
Thank you!
Beautifully done! Outstanding audio recording too!
Fantastic just heavenly
Thank you, it is a wondrous composition, too seldom performed!
@@OpheliaEnsemble you are doing a wonder, your musicality is beautiful
So beautiful. Thank you for uploading - it made my day!
Likewise, thank you for the comment, it made my evening!

You did a nice job on this arrangement! I've only ever heard it on keyboard and have always loved it. Thanks!
Fantastique ❤️

Vau, väkevä tunnelma!
Two thumbs way up!!! Gorgeous piece. Thx for the post. ❤️
Thank you, your comment makes us glad!
Indah sekali, terima kasih 💗❤🙏
Sublime
I thought that great piece belongs to Purcell. Amazing performance. Thanks.
Magnífico.
Thank you!

Thank you! I use Sennheiser MKH 40 microphones.

I used the sheet music on musescore as basis. It says C minor, but it's actually in b minor. And with my lute in A, it actually sounds in e minor.

Bravo! It is a beautiful piece (obscure composer), alluringly played. Do you by any chance have the tablature
Thank you! No, there's no tablature that I know, the piece is originally for a keyboard instrument. Sheet music can be found online.
IMSLP has a version.
"Obscure composer"? Nothing obscure about Croft!!!
Great playing and nice video! The colour filter that has been applied on the video looks good - I must figure out whether PowerDirector has something similar!
Thank you! Yes, I think the choice of color is very important for the feel of the video. I think probably your software has those capabilities too!

OMG !!!
Est-ce que, à tout hasard, vous auriez une tablature de ce morceau à me transmettre ?

Very nice playing and recording- the church is empty- why not play for an audience?
Thank you! It would have been impractical to shoot the video with an audience, cameras all over, several takes, me sitting with my back to the audience.
This is a Purcell's composition....
Thanks for commenting! It is not actually by Purcell, although it may sound similar.
