My Vipiko Ceremony | Cooked With Love For My Husband Video | Zambian Matron

The Vipiko Is a tasting Ceremony performed by the People of the Eastern Province of Zambia,a tasting ceremony which is done before the wedding incorporated with Drums, Dancing and singing, it is a Ceremony where the Bride with the help of her Family and Friends prepare food for the Groom and his Family and friends. The reason for the ceremony is to show the Groom the food and culture he is to expect at his Parents Inlaw’s home,and for him to be at liberty to eat food whenever he visits his Inlaw’s house, The Bride is required to show that they have understood what it means to leave the single life and join together with the Groom, by activities like cooking with the mouth which denotes that should anything happen to my hands i am able to use my mouth to cook food for my husband. once the food is cooked Family Members and Friends take the food to the Grooms home.
