Something tells me this is the World of Warships version of the designed Lexington-Class Battlecruisers, of which Lexington and Saratoga became aircraft carriers. And yes, 6 of which were supposed to be built.
Honestly, I've wanted to see this in the game since the beginning although I had thought we could have Lexington as a CV and its sister Saratoga as a battlecruiser. Love the Independence Day camo though.
I am not on World of Warships, but I love naval history. Lexington class battle cruiser, Lexington and Saratoga where converted to CV-2 and CV-3 respectively. Like your videos.
U.S.S. Constellation was one of the 6 Lexington - class battlecruisers along with Lexington, Saratoga, Ranger, Constitution, United States. Of which 4 were cancelled and two - Lexington and Saratoga were re-built as the first Fleet carriers of US Navy. Nickname: KoTLoNa EU Server

Wargaming, do you hate the 16"/50 Mk2 gun? Yes, I remember when the Lexington battlecruisers were planned to use Colorado’s 16"/45 guns. No, both the Lexington-class and the 1920 South Dakota-class were designed to use the 16"/50 Mark 2 guns. Hypothetical modernization does not work here, we would not have removed superior guns for inferior guns AT ALL. That would be like replacing Iowa’s 16"/50 Mk7 guns with Alabama/Massachusetts' 16"/45 guns. Both ships that were designed to use the 16"/50 Mk2 got screwed out of getting their actual main battery: South Dakota 1920 (Kansas) and Constellation (Lexington battlecruiser). You basically just reduced the Lexington battlecruiser to just a fast Colorado with torpedoes. It did not NEED torpedoes. Constellation deserved the 16"/50 Mk2. This is why I laugh whenever you claim you try to follow the actual designs of paper ships as much as possible like you said in your Ägir video. Don’t even get me started on what you did to Incomparable, which you turned into basically just a large Hood with 20” guns. God forbid you give it a large single funnel and a 35 knot speed.
One year late, but I just got the Constellation. Anyway, aside from the guns, the ship design is also strange. The final design of the Lexington-class battlecruiser only has a one deck hull, but here we have a two deck hull aside from the superstructure. In all the Constellation ingame has three decks. Constellation is short changed with the guns even if plotting room modification is placed as its gun range would still come up short compared to other battleships.

The Lexington-class ships were originally designed to be battlecruisers, with heavy guns, high speed, and moderate armor protection. The Navy laid down six ships of the class in 1919-20. When the battlecruisers were cancelled under the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922, two of the unfinished ships were designated for completion as carriers. Lexington and Saratoga were selected since they were the most advanced of the six ships in construction. Although the Lexington was the lead ship of the class, and was assigned a lower hull number, CV-2, when commissioned, the Saratoga, CV-3, was actually laid down first and completed first. Such are the vagaries of naval bureaucracy. My screen name is Rickhavoc, and I play on the NA server.

Well hopefully WG can have another Lexington class battlecruiser. So at least four ships are out of the picture since they're now either ingame or have been converted in real life--Lexington and Saratoga as real life carriers, and ingame the names of United States and Ranger have been taken for carriers as well. Which then leaves us with Constitution and as far as I can tell there is no ship with that name yet ingame. So a sister ship would be nice but hopefully this time with the actual final design for the Lexington-class battlecruiser and not the three deck monstrosity that we have for the Constellation. I like her speed and rate of fire though, but hopefully as well her firing range is increased as it is short changed, even more horribly so than Brandenburg.
