I brought a hibrew 10B for approximately 127€ and it works great. It has a 51mm portafilter that is enough for me. I made my double spout prota filter open basket and I’m satisfied with that. I don’t know why you should by a 400€ machine that does the same thing and take more space on you kitchen sink.
Depends. A $10 000 machine will do the same thing fundamentally, heating water and pushing it through the coffee. Could be better stability with the pressure and/or the temperature, i don't know. But certainly I don't believe they wouls just make it 58mm and add 250€ go the price.
I recently bought the H10A after your (and Lance's) review. A couple of thoughts. I got it for 180€, shipped from within the EU, so no extra fees and an address where you could return it to. I knew the H10plus exists and that's a bit better. But I can't find it within the EU and the cheapest option is 320€ from aliexpress. That's clearly not worth it. I only owned a bean to cup before amd it took me a while to get decent espresso out of the H10a. Mostly because I only had older beans at home. I bought Illy beans which immediately improved the output. I think I can live without the 3 way valve, but it would be nice to have. It sucks a bit, that the flow doesn't stop when turning it off. But that isn't worth almost twice the price. The steam knob is a bit flimsy, but it seems they haven't improved it and just added another piece to it. There is also a (price) point where I'd rather get a gaggia or delonghi, simply because of after sales service. I can live with a 180€ investment breaking after a few years. 300+€ is going to be a difficult purchase of a product without any brand history or service options in my region. At least for me.
@@ExLwonSome place called geekbuying. It arrived within a few days. It's still a Chinese platform though, and outside of paying via PayPal and being able to dispute any immediate shipment issues, I wouldn't place high trust into them solving later issues.
@@tonygibbons5Quite a bit, but pretty slow. Not going to lie, it's a bit difficult to hit the exact dose, but it's doable. I press the button a few seconds earlier and then quickly take the cup out. It also helps to immediately release some pressure via the steam wand. Not quite sure what method I'll be using long term. But looking at other cheap machines, or even 400-500€ machines, they all appear to have various flaws (like horrendous drip tray and water tank designs, no temperature control, etc.)
You are a good reviewer and my go-to for when it comes to espresso machines reviews. I’d love to see a review on the updated Delonghi La Specialista Maestro EC9885M. If you can get your hands on one, it’d be awesome.
yes,pcb should be in some box or covered with glue. In my opinion is too high. It is very nice that there are so many accessories. For my opinion, the absence of water sensor is not a minus,i think that is a plus-the less electronics, the fewr failures in the future
Good video Tom! If I had not spent $1,600 on a Lelit MaraX two years ago I’d buy this… smh 🤦🏻♂️ Better get a good grinder and a cheaper espresso machine
Had OG model and sent it back. It was good but not great. The main reason I returned it was it doesn’t heat the brew group or portafilter when you power it on. You have to run quite a bit of water to get the group and portafilter mildly warm. That’s my big beef with it or any machine that is thermobloxk only.
Well if you set your single shot the lowest mL you can run it once when you power it on (and it gets to temp) and another time right before you're ready to put your coffee ground in. Never had issues or I just have never had a good espresso from this machine, I can't tell
What would be the best single boiler espresso machine for home use on the market based on its build quality and service? I know there are many, but if you had to choose one, which would it be? Good luck on your channel and see you in the next video.
I'd love a machine with a thermoblock, but I must use bottled water in it. All that water flushing to warm the brew group, and for cleaning is a big waste at the end. H10 Plus is very interesting to me, especially because I could experience pressure, along with temperature. Is there a small machine that has a warming element of some sort that would keep the porta-filter at the best temperature during the extraction?
Hi Tom!! Appreciate for the review, very interesting,as usual😊 Did you hear anything about Elba Gentile coffee machine?! Its some Italian brand! Thanks☺️

Thank you very much for the review. I’m debating whether to buy the HiBrew H10 Plus, the Turin Legato (V2), or the Gemilai CRM3006 (Cecotec Baristeo Intima), which I can’t find much information about but is currently at a very good price.
Hmm, haven't tried the Gemilai yet, but I can say that the Apex is a more substantial and better built machine than the H10 series. All the ones you mentioned are Chinese, so you do also have to consider that in regards to service and spare parts. Cheers!
For sure the best option it’s the Turin Legato but in Spain it’s hard to buy without fees and 0 garante. This is why I’m finding information about Gemilai 3006 because we have a local rebrand (Cecotec).
@@alberts3129 We have the Miicoffee Apex here in Spain on Amazon, which is just another reseller of the Turin Legato, but it is only the V1.1. I remember reading on one of the forums that we might see the V2 sometime in the first quarter of 2025.

Hi Tom, like to ask you about three way solenoid. with your bang for your buck video about Delonghi you mentioned that the machine didn't have a 3 way solenoid and for you that was beter with removing the puck from the portafilter. In this video you called the 3 way solenoid in the H10plus a plus compared to the H10a without the solenoid. Is there a other very good reason to pay like € 500 for the plus instead of well about € 190 for the H10a?
@@sasko1811 Actually what I meant about the omission of the three-way solenoid for the DeLonghi is, that you have better puck knockouts. But you do have to wait 60 seconds before removing the Porta filter. I think it makes more sense to get the H10A over the plus and save the money.
Why don't you ever review Jura machines? They have some amazing super automatics that simply work amazingly well. Z10 for example. Swiss company, not Italian.

I think the original H10A was at $300. The H10 Plus now includes a solenoid, and those puppies are kind of expensive. But yes I agree that it will need to be cheaper to compete with established brands.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner At least in Europa you can buy the H10a for 200€, sometimes even less. With shipping from within the EU, i. e. no extra customs fees.
H10A Plus is definitely not worth the price difference comparing to the OG model. Which you can easily get in the 150-200€ range. I have had the OG model for a year now. Got it for 169€. For that price it makes good espresso. The solenoid valve is really not needed as you can easily control the flow with the steam knob. Looking at the Plus model, the front panel PCB is exposed the same way as in the old model. If you are not careful and let steam run over the buttons, it will corrode the electronics. Mine machine single dose button stopped working after few months.
