As children, watching Nicktoons was all about taking in the laughs and following our favorite characters. In many cases, plots went right over our heads and we missed numerous mistakes seen on-screen. Take a look back at shows like Rugrats, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Hey Arnold to see some of the crazy mistakes you probably missed!
On Rugrats, we all know Chucky’s mom passed away when he was a baby, but we didn’t get all the full details until the Mother’s Day episode. Obviously plans changed over the years, because there have been multiple mentions of a living mother early on! SpongeBob Squarepants is a unique character, but what exactly is his body made of?! Multiple episodes have showcased very different conclusions. Helga is obsessed with Arnold in Hey Arnold, but is she so in love that her body split in two?! A classic animation mistake would make you think so. Timmy Turner has very specific rules when it comes to having Fairy Godparents, but he breaks one in an effort to help his father in the past. In All Grown Up, Tommy Pickles ends up sleepwalking and stealing items, but the thing he blames it on is completely different than what the evidence presents itself as. How old is SpongeBob?! He acts 8 but takes driving lessons and lives on his own!? Different episodes showcase VERY different ages. Timmy Turner has some rough aspects of his life, but he does have his own private bathroom! How could he be so lucky?! The first episode of Doug showcases the character’s move to his town, but later on he has flashbacks about spending multiple summers there. Planet Sheen sent Sheen to outer space, but there’s no reason Jimmy Neutron and his pals wouldn’t go and rescue him right away. Watch to see all these mistakes and MANY more!

Number 4 (the Fairly OddParents one) isn't a mistake. Timmy didn't break 'da rules' as he didn't use magic to directly cause his father to win, instead, he found a loophole in 'da rules' and used magic to cause the other competitors to lose by not crossing the finish line. It may not have been intended to present Timmy as being this smart at bending 'da rules' in favour of his goal but it for sure isn't a mistake from the writers, maybe just a lucky mishap for them.

Well yeah, it's pretty much the same thing but 'da rules' doesn't state that you can't make people lose, so in a way, Timmy just bent the rules. I dunno, it made sense in my head but in actuality I'm most likely wrong lol

I'm pretty sure making all of the other competitors lose is the same thing as making yourself win. However, perhaps the loophole comes from the technicality that he's using magic to him his *dad* win as opposed to himself. If I recall, the rule was "You can't use magic to win a competition." But Timmy didn't claim the win in his name, but in his father's. Probably wouldn't fly in a real-world court, but by the show's logic, I'm sure it would fit nicely.
Donny could actually talk, he just didn't want to because he thought all of their conversations were boring so he pretended he could only babble. I wish I had been that smart from the start.

Yeah Spongebob is a show where every episode is just an episode. Nothing is really consistent and there really isn't anything that carries over into other episodes or is connected.

Actually, Spongebob's time period is not accurate, at least when compared to real life. Remember SB-129? After traveling to the future, Squidward is seen next to a calendar that reads "March 6 4017 A.D" Which means, this episode takes place in Year 2017, seeming as he traveled 2000 years into the future, according to the time cards. Now, I believe this aired somewhere between 1999 and 2000 (Actually, it aired December 1999). Which means that 18 years ago, depending on the date you're reading this at least, Season 2 takes place in our time period, that is, if their years go by how ours do, which i highly doubt. Spongebob' s age... Well time for some math. Birthdate: 1986. Step one, done. We know when he was born, which makes this a whole lot simpler. 1986 to 1999 is 13 years, if I'm correct. Squidward time travels in the end of 1999, and ten years later, we're in the 2001 years later after our recent date. Now the rest is only my theory, so don't take this seriously, but hopefully, if I'm correct, The time frame of season 1 takes place in 2017, therefore, if the seasons are placed by actual years, and season ten is placed during 2027, each season is one year, and, therefore, Spongebob is actually 41 years old. Ehh, I wouldn't consider this acurate, or heck, even a theory, but hey, I tried. Just an Idea I believed I should share, so sorry for rambling, and I hope you enjoy the rest of you're day i may or may not have wasted~

Timmy's room isn't technically a mistake either. Butch Harmon allowed his writers to configure Timmy's room however they liked. And because of this no consistent room plan was ever made.

That last one wasnt really a mistake but based in actual science, humans go through a critcal period of lauguge retention around the age of 3 if Donny's brain wasnt taught to speak at that time it is virtually impossible to learn and retain vocabulary, his sister most likely has a hard time communicating with him because he doesnt speak a real form of communication unlike other animals that were taught to communicate with each other
Planet Sheen is directed towards kids, not adults. That’s why there are so many plot holes and solutions that are never brought to the surface of the show

The Fairly Oddparents bathroom one could be explained by fairy magic. Keep in mind the parents in the show are neglectful and don't spend much time with Timmy. The bathroom could be Cosmo and Wanda keeping Timmy happy. I mean, a private bathroom for a kid? Seriously nice, and it kept Timmy away from his parents.
I hate that part in Grandma's Kisses of the ending! It was a tasteless ending of an otherwise decent SpongeBob episode! Thanks for the reminder of it! >:(
