Yes, he is the original singer for this song. On the other hand Kenny‘s songs sound better with Kenny singing them. Both great singers.
Kenny has to strain to get the higher notes his own stuff is much better for his voice but Erik was missing the bottom end Kenny has so it's entirely apples and oranges.
