In this TH-cam product review video, we're taking a closer look at the Logitech G Yeti Orb Condenser RGB Gaming Microphone. Packed with LIGHTSYNC technology and a sleek black design, this USB microphone promises top-tier audio performance for gamers and content creators alike. With its cardioid pickup pattern, it focuses on your voice while minimizing background noise, but there are some concerns about keyboard and mouse noise reduction. Despite that, it offers total software control through G HUB, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a versatile and visually captivating microphone for their streaming and gaming needs.

This video was excellent, quick fast and covered all my questions.
hot take I like the mic's design
Great review. Thank you
can you connect it to your iphone?
Thanks for the review, there is barely any information out there on the actual performance of this microphone. Sounds decent enough for me and I need the software options to eliminate certain sounds. It almost seems the software (and brand) is what you're primarily paying for.
I actually ended up buying this microphone. With the built-in software and AMD Noise Suppression (there's an Nvidia equivalent), it's probably 2-3 feet away, sounds as good or better than my headset microphone (at that distance), and it doesn't pick up living room or mechanical keyboard noise.
That said, without AMD Noise Suppression it picks up the keyboard (not awful though) and blips from the living room.
The microphone is very focused in a forward cone but anything within that cone will be *easily* picked up (for example someone behind you).
It actually sounds really good when you're close to it, but the problem there is the microphone is so large I feel it'd be a bit unwieldy on a boom.
Considering I just wanted something to sit on my desk that I didn't need to wear or adjust, it's perfect though. My headset mic has terrible crosstalk but great audio. It was easier to find a mic than a good headset with a decent mic (two duds in a row).
@@Disdaine82 sorry if stupid question but do you have to be hunched over it for your voice to be picked up?
@@mrfantastic2142No, I got this microphone specifically for that reason. It picks up sound further away. It's conal so it isn't as sensitive to the sides unless someone is yelling or loud. It's not bad though, my PC is in a repurposed dining room and between the G Hub settings and AMD Noise Suppression it filters out that and mechanical keyboard (which is ironically in front of my mic).
If you're thinking of the type of microphone that you must lean into, you may be thinking of a dynamic microphone. They are better for noisy environments but you need to be pretty close to get good audio.
I'm not going to lie, this microphone does sound better the closer you are, but it's not a requirement.
@@mrfantastic2142 I replied on my phone but the reply disappeared. Not sure why. It may also end up double-posting later if it was caught for moderation.
No, you don't need to be hunched over. It sits on my desk behind my noisy keyboard. I have an "L" desk, so I actually sit further away from the desk as the corner isn't curved. It sits about 6" further than it would for most people with a similar arrangement but its been fine. The closer you are, the better it will sound but from 2' to 2½' away, the quality is comparable to my previous good headset microphone but without any risk of crosstalk issues.
do you think this could be used for asmr? does it catch like left to right sounds?
What's MSRP for the microphone?
It’s weird they did not provide a way to turn it to cardioid mode for this considering they yeti snowball bad it. Is there a way to do that in software?
Yep. Almost everything relies on GX hub for this mic.
How to mute the microphone please help
thanks
Can it be used on consoles?
yes, i just got it for my pc and tried on my console, works fine
there’s no mute button?
Sadly no 🫤
Kova Tech , Thanks Much !.......
If it has mute button it would have been so cool
i cant believe it doesnt have a mute button.
I gotta have a mute vutton
Idk about you but I have one on my keyboard and that's fine enough for me, though a tap to mute would be nice
I got my own macro buttons I can just click right under my desk and program them to mute. I got it from aliexpress for $2-$3 and then got velcro straps from amazon for $5. Pretty worth it and there's a volume knob.
@@venykrid yeah I prefer to use my logitech keyboard shortcut to mute it I use the mx keys mini and have the mic mute shortcut pretty handy and doesn't even use my options to mute on my peripherals
