Hoshi is very dedicated to his Tiger concept. Apparently, he worked on this song more than a year ago but held onto it so he could release it this year (year of the tiger) and on International Tiger Day, and in collaboration with Tiger JK. So much tiger power, lol

For Tiger, the choreography was made by MOTF Beom Kim as you saw, but a fun tidbit is that Beom also means tiger in korean. So you have Hoshi (= Horangi Shiseon/tiger's gaze) releasing a song called Tiger on the international Tiger Day, featuring legendary rapper Tiger JK (who was born on international tiger day in the year of the tiger) and choreographed by a guy named Tiger. Hoshi really went in for his tiger agenda lol.

some context i havent seen anyone mention, "aheung" that you hear in tiger's chorus is essentially the korean onomatopoeia for "roar" ☺️
hoshi wants to be known as a tiger and often seriously claims that he is one; his stage name "hoshi" comes from the korean phrase "HOrangi-ui SIseon" which means tiger's gaze! he has another song about being a tiger called "horangi power" that is a lot more cutesy! this is actually pretty standard Hoshi VoiceTM
someone explained about tiger jk already but he is a friend of seventeen! he doesn't talk about his friendships with idols often or at all so it was a surprise for carats too~

this is a song that mentions a lot of negative comments seventeen got predebut and even after debut e.g. "too many mouths, what will we do for food..." (comments like "how will they feed 13 people?"), poking at all the people who said they'd never be successful and now they're one of the biggest kpop groups in history. it also celebrates their growth; how they started from a dormitory way too small for 13 people and made it to the top.
"we built a building from our basement unit" references how seventeen went from desperate trainees in the basement practice room of the old pledis building to pledis' top earners, making enough for the company to build a whole new building. essentially saying they paid for that building 😇

Ayy its been a while since svt videos. Funny thing is that their practice room is literally a basement unit, when both carats and svt mention green/melona room its literally that and svt wants to forget every cursed thing they did predebut there lmao.
Anyway, jun's limbo is another thing to look out for too (ik you said you'll watch it but im just excited lmao). The mv and dance practice but the dance practice has some parts thats a lil dark but its conceptual yk. There was another choreo/special video of it a few days ago but its released on a diff channel and idk if you'd get blocked for that but just in case you wanted to watch a one-take version and the darker parts not being as dark. The channel is called Muply, there's a special vid, and a one take version.
Fun fact abt Tiger : he learned the choreo in two days and was basically doing that in the midst of cheers and i think HOT too? just so he and tiger JK (the rapper featuring in it) can release it on intl tiger day which is also tiger JK's bday. Which is why one of the verse tigerJK was like "original tiger, yes im your father" lmao and hoshi's verses is implying he's korea's last tiger, i just thought thats a cool lyrical detail to point out. Yea some are implicative of a more traditional sense like the references in some lines but i dont think its wise for me as a non korean to speak on it like i could do it justice yk.
Also curious to know whatcha think of baekho's solo debut 'no rules', and jonghyeon's solo debut 'lights', esp knowing how you root for them since face era ^^
