    Insanely jealous, but super hyped! My family and I will be going to the Tetons for a week in September. Just frontcountry stuff, but I may be able to sneak in a long day hike or two. Areas like this just inject a spirit into you that's hard to describe. Beautiful!

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really is indescribable beauty out there. A lot of the Teton backcountry is actually quite accessible to long day hikes. Very cool that y'all are gonna get to experience this area.

    23:30 ahhaha I didn't catch the "bear" story the first time through. Recently I figured out why deer are always coming into my camp at night and its because I pee to close to camp and they are after the salt!

    Fantastic video Layne! Stunning place. You were a real Dr. Dolittle on this one. I have no dog in the collegiate sports hunt but your Duke comment made me laugh. What made you go with a tent instead of a hammock? Lack of potential places to hang?

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Seth! All the animals were the cherry on top of a beautiful area. Good question - I typically use a tent out west. The lay of the land usually makes it easier to find tent spots

    Dude, those shots are unreal. If they look like that on camera, I can only imagine in person. Great job on another successful journey - you're unstopable. What's it like backpackpacking at 10,000 feet?

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah totally, any video could never do justice. Fortunately I was well acclimated by this trip, having spent a week at 7,000"+. I did get roasted by the sun way up there.

    Halfway through, really enjoying this video Layne, how is the permit process for the national park?

    • @LayneComfort
      @LayneComfort  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Jarl, the permit process for GTNP is pretty tight for the popular parts. Online reservations for the year open in January and are first come, first served - gone quickly. They do reserve some spots for walk ups but I'd imagine they are in high demand.
