I did London & Scotland Escape in October 2023 and I had the same tour director as you! Loved Mark!

@@kristen_clark_ Hi kristen im planning a trip to Ireland in aug 2024 but have done Scotland extensively last year in aug. can you give me an honest answer on how different Scotland is from Ireland ? or are they quite similar in landscape.
@NoumanAtiq Ireland on average is bit flatter compared to Scotland but if you go west its very like Scottish highlands, wicklow is similar to highlands bur with more forest, visit belfast, dublin cork galway, dingle eg.

I had Mark as a TD! I loved him, but I haven't met an EF TD that I didn't love and did a fantastic job! I hope you have an amazing trip!

Wow, what an exciting trip you took. I'm doing one similar with Trafalger at the end of June . What was the average temperature in all the places?
Honestly it was pretty comparable to US weather, just a bit cooler with more rain!

I did London & Scotland with EF in May 2022!! I still haven't been to Ireland yet! Im also going to Australia in 2024 with them too! Also who was your tour director in London?
I really want to do EF's Australia and New Zealand over New Year's sometime soon! And our tour director was Mark, he was fantastic!!

Hi, just wondering about the flights. Did you have EF ultimate book them for you and what airlines did they end up using? Also about how long was the total travel time? I’ve heard that they sometimes book the longest ones because they’re cheaper so I’m considering booking my own
Honestly the flights were okay but moving forward I will book my own to have shorter and more direct flight routes. None of my EF flights have been terrible but they are also never great, which is common for them. They use all the major airlines American, Delta, United, it just depends on what's cheapest for them when they book!
Curious how light you packed on this trip
Is the hiking on this trip (i.e. in the Scottish Highlands) intense enough to justify buying hiking boots? Lol
No, not at all in my opinion! I did hikes in my Air Force Ones😂 But seriously any decent pair of tennis shoes or athletic sandals are perfect for the hikes!
I want to book this exact trip were the hostels good? Did you feel safe and clean?
I definitely felt safe in all the hostels! All the people you share a room with are people for your EF group, not other random people. Overall they all were very clean, one of them could have been better but still fine for what it was

@@sunnyfebruary13 I should disclose I am not a foodie, however I did really enjoy the food! The included meals were delicious! My favorite meal was oysters in Galway Ireland, they were beating words!

Was your layover very long? Do you have laundry?
@@siempretratoI pack enough to not do laundry. Some people bring travel packs of laundry detergent to do it in the sink. Others find laundromats nearby to do it. On the "essential" trips most hostels and hotels do not offer laundry, I have been on "plus" trips where the hotels offer it, but it is very expensive! I hope that helps!
The layovers weren't too long, but it wasn't the most direct route or fastest flight plan. I will book my own flights on my future trips with EF!
@kristen_clark_ I've never traveled very seas before. Should I find a passport holder to wear around my neck, or will one for my purse be enough?
@@siempretrato All five EF trips I have done I keep my passport in a small zipped compartment of my backpack! I don't think it's necessary to keep it around your neck! I recommend picking one spot where it stays 24/7 and checking once a day that it's still there!
I had never traveled overseas until my first EF trip, and now I have gone to so many places! I am so grateful!
@kristen_clark_ I've booked my trio. They said pack light should I only bring a carry on? Will I be allowed a backpack or Will they make me check something?

If you booked the plus, why were you guys in a hostel?
I responded to a comment thinking it was on a different trip/video, which is my bad! This trip was not the plus version hence the hostels!
Can u give an update on your operated ankle.
My ankle is doing great!! I still have a little bit of pain in my surgery ankle sometimes but it is significantly less and 110% more stable. I have literally half stepped in holes and half stepped off curbs and have been fine😂

How were hotels for this trip?
Most of the hotels and hostels were perfectly acceptable, nothing glamorous or fancy, but clean rooms in good locations. Our hostel in Edinburgh was not great and kind of dirty, but that is not the normal hostel they use and everyone in our group complained about it in the feedback survey, and so I would be surprised if EF used that hostel again. I hope this helps, honestly this trip was so fast I felt like I really just slept in the rooms and got ready, so a nice bed and good location was all I cared about!

Fish and chips from most pubs and restaurants are nothing like the ones from a Fish and Chip shop and nowhere near as good. If you ever come back, make sure you try a “chippy” not a pub or restaurant
Thank you for the trip! I loved my time over there and definitely want to come back sometime soon! Maybe I can tack on some extra days on my next Europe trip and try a "chippy"!

@@kristen_clark_ What does "trans rights" even mean? No laws forbid trans people from voting, employment, housing, or marriage. What they are asking for is special treatment. I will always support female/women's rights, full stop. That means no males in women's sports or women's prisons.
J.K. Rowling supports women's rights and doesn't kowtow to Twitter peer pressure. We should be lucky to have her as a feminist.
@@kristen_clark_ Most mature adults agree with Rowling. They believe trans people should be treated with dignity and respect, and should not face discrimination in employment and housing. However, they acknowledge that biological sex is real; and mixing males and females in vulnerable spaces, like prisons and domestic violence shelters, is dangerous for females. Rowling is a hero. 💪
