Fishing in the wind has been a challenge for me this past week here in NC as well. Either having to cast into it or across it. No distance either way, but the cross wind is a nightmare. 40 feet to one side or the other easy, and then getting the bow out of the line before starting your desired retrieve... frustrating. Funny enough, I've lost about 4 jigs, but none of them were because of the wind! All on underwater snags. Tight lines Chris!
Got me a nice collection of goods at Ollie’s-thx! Also, Richard Gene, what a great watch he is & that personality! Woooo! Lol. Thank you, sir!
Those are the jigs that didn't make the cut at the Bobby Garland factory :) Keep an eye on Robinson Salvage in Dalton, sometimes they have great name brand fishing tackle and rods and reels.
Never heard of it but I’ll keep that salvage place in mind.
Well, I find myself bank fishing a lot more, between boat trips, and it's all your fault. 😊. I have missed it. I've realized something, real quick. I've gotta stock more jig heads, cause I'm loosing more. You have opened my eyes again to it. Chuck from Arkansas.
Every time I go fishing it seems that I have to fight the wind. Casting between the gust. Great video Chris.
I can’t stand wind. I can deal with some rain but wind is a no no.
Another great video try to warm up be careful out there
Whoa! I have an Ollie’s in the area, ain’t been in a minute. Thx. Been crushing the Crystal hot sauce since your review, that’s some good 💩. Have a great weekend.
Nice, yeah Ollie’s usually always has some fishing stuff but it varies since they are a everything store lol
That is an awesome place there. I have wanted to fish there ever since talk started about tearing the dam out. I pray they leave it alone. They removed one close to me and it killed the fishing. God Bless my friend. Great video.
Did you know you can seal hot hand style hand warmers in a Ziplock bag, roll the bag to remove air and seal and you are able to reuse multiple times? Something worth trying. I use 4 of the large warmers at a time and am able to use them multiple times. Southeast Iowa ways
My local one pretty much keeps bobby garland baits
Awesome video man
I use the kast king polar blast mittens for 2 years now and they work pretty good with the fold over mittens , below 20° not the best. Just my 2 cents for hand warmth, you should ask for some for a "review" 😂
Great video Chris I know what you are saying the Ollie's here never has very much in fishing and the stuff that they do have I to high for the things that they do have . Chris if you had a boat to get out in the middle of that place I bet you would have racket them up
wish i had a local ollies
Last summer I found a few good baits at the local Ollie’s. They had some 13fiishing combos , some 6th sense , Bobby garlands. I was surprised
Yeah places like Ollie’s are basically liquidation stores for places that took those brands/items off inventory. Walmart does that too. I found a Penn fierce 3000 reel for $35 and brand new they are $90 lol
Ollie’s specializes in odd lot buyouts. Basically stuff that didn’t sell well in the retail stores and is routinely disappointing in terms of quality. Cereal that no one really likes to eat, as seen on TV junk, clothes that are odd sizes, and electronics that just don’t work. However, you can at times find some good quality name brand items at a good price. In terms of fishing stuff, they specialize in Zebco and off brands. I must admit that I did find some good quality Zoom worms and Bobby Garland Baby Shad baits priced below retail last summer. They at times have had Lucky Craft crank baits and Zman chatter baits and spinnerbaits for about $1 off what you would pay at like Academy. Rod and reel combos are pretty much kid’s toys. So, shopping at Ollies is kind of like going to the flea market… you know that guy who is always selling all the brand new stuff imported from China that is really just not that good in quality. If you’re lucky you can find some good fishing stuff at Ollies that they’ve bought out excess inventory or store closeouts. But you will have to sort through the toys and the junk fishing stuff to really find a bargain. JMO
Chris nice video your determination to go after the bite in extreme weather is impeccable! Is there a “perfect” fishing gloves for winter 🥶 that is what we need? As always thanks for sharing my brother tight lines take care and God bless!
If there were a rechargeable hand warmer glove that didn’t make casting your line a nightmare then I’d say yes lol
Yea you never know what Ollie’s will have from one day to the next for fishing stuff. They could have off brand to name brand. And best of all it’s cheap. 😂
We don’t have a quarter of the stuff at our store
