Some of the differences between Juno D6 and Fantom 0. No touchscreen. Seems far less programmable and layering/split options seem designed for simplicity not for however you'd like. 8 tracks vs 16 and the sequencing options seem cut back (the D6 is more like a scratch pad or groovebox with only 64 steps). No clips. Far fewer controls. Looks less well-built or maybe it's just plainer looking bordering on ugly. No synth models like Juno-106, etc. And I'm sure there's more. I didn’t think I don’t own the keyboard yet so I can’t actually try it out and see how easy it is I wanted to see if it was as easy as my FA 07 to set up.
Im really hoping for a jupiter x update after seeing some of this stuff! Really wondering if i need this as someone who owns the xm as well as mv-1. Random patch on all your gear please
I'd like a JUPITER-XL with 76-key keybed and JUPITER-XXL with 88 weighted keys. That would be amazing to behold. The price would probably be high though. Expensive metal chassis and enclosure plus a top quality keybed.
9:29 FINALLY!!! they stop that Propietary driver stupidity!!! Beautiful machine, but one thing I still find appalling, is this ridiculous mania of roland to make the keyboards unnecessarily bigger with that HUGE chunk of plastic to the left side just to accommodate a small Pitch/Mod joystick.
Older keyboards have a "generic" mode in System settings. They tend to come in "vendor" mode by default, requiring the proprietary driver. Easy thing to change for any user.
Is Ableton able to change the keyboard patches for a live performance setting? I have keyboard rig for digital and midi n I have Yamaha mx88 I can change my patches through ableton as easy as I can do with my midi controller
The first thing that interests you in version 88 is the quality of the keys. For example, the Yamaha MODX8+ Velocity-sensitive GHS keyboard with hammer action. What's going on here?
@@albertera oh, that? The Juno-D8 has graded action, as do any other 88-key Rolands. I'm remembering now, keybed quality on the original MODX line is quite terrible for the price. Pretty weird for Yamaha, honestly. I do not remember if MODX+ line got improved key quality, I think they didn't. Juno-D8 and Juno-DS88 are easily upgrades in comparison, but MODX and MODX+ have much better sound engines, which is mainly why they are so popular.
The only problem I have with Roland is that when your research and development team releases a new synth, they don’t increase the polyphony, nor the more sequence capabilities.
I disagree, I advise keeping your Di for now, but you do as you please. DS has the most user memory for custom/tweaked presets by far, and then its 16-part combos ("Performance presets") have none of this 2024 Juno-D's restrictions. Plus can run on rechargeable AAs, unlike this bulkier newer version.
I bought a JUNO-D6 and I find I can choose MSAMP for multi-sample when editing partial of tones, but I have no way to make/import a multi-sample! Single sample is nearly unusable because stretch or compress the sample to all pitch is unacceptable. I see JUNO-DS and FANTOM-0 can make multi-sample, will there be a firmware update to allow JUNO-D to make multi-sample?

Different sound engines. They are incompatible. You must copy parameter by parameter, by hand. At least the waveform names for the Partials are all the same, though their numbers are different. Certain parameters, like TVF Cutoff, now have a 0-1023 range instead of 0-127. New virtual analogue oscillators from Jupiter-80 are now available, and much more.

is that possible to have more than one arp type in a scene? I mean one ar type on the Bass part and aanother one with synth part in the same scene?
Nope
Nowhere on your website or anywhere that I can find on the Internet is there any talk about setting up scenes, or how many splits you can set up and save as a scene or a patch for gigging out you know multiple sounds spread out over the Keyboard
Agree, no info in the manual either.
@ I just saw on some other site. Someone mentioned it was on page 19 of the manual. I’ll have to check it out cause I didn’t find it before either.
Expensive metal chassis and enclosure plus a top quality keybed.
lounch date in india
9:29 FINALLY!!! they stop that Propietary driver stupidity!!!
Beautiful machine, but one thing I still find appalling, is this ridiculous mania of roland to make the keyboards unnecessarily bigger with that HUGE chunk of plastic to the left side just to accommodate a small Pitch/Mod joystick.
Older keyboards have a "generic" mode in System settings. They tend to come in "vendor" mode by default, requiring the proprietary driver. Easy thing to change for any user.
@@Jason75913 Yeah... But it disables the audio, you are left with midi only. This one comes with Audio And Midi with no "Vendor" stupidity
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is Ableton able to change the keyboard patches for a live performance setting?
I have keyboard rig for digital and midi n I have Yamaha mx88 I can change my patches through ableton as easy as I can do with my midi controller
The first thing that interests you in version 88 is the quality of the keys. For example, the Yamaha MODX8+ Velocity-sensitive GHS keyboard with hammer action. What's going on here?
-This is a lower-end/entry-level keyboard, what do you think? MODX8 (any version) is a midrange keyboard.a-
@@Jason75913 everything is correct, the Yamaha MODX8+ GHS keyboard comes with gradation (the higher the easier) but Roland doesn’t say anything.
Please how can I get an "end point" for the waves ??? it's 0 and i can't read any sample
The only problem I have with Roland is that when your research and development team releases a new synth, they don’t increase the polyphony, nor the more sequence capabilities.
4:37 😮
これ単体でソングが組めれば言う事なしなのですが(シーンのチェイン・プレイ)....
異なる演奏パターンを組み合わせて曲を作るには別途PC/MacとDAWが必要です。
アプデで追加されそうですけどね。
A modular version with no keybed please🙏🏻
closest is MC-707
Price?
In this keyboard master key + - feature is available?
What happened to the amazing sequencers from the xp50 era?
Gone
Me hubiera gustado conservar el d-beam e incorporar conectivo dad Bluetooth para las reproducciones
Literally just bought the DS88 a week ago 💀
And stick to it, unless you want Roland Cloud integration. I don't recommend this over the Juno-DS otherwise.
🤠 Nothing wrong with it. If you want better sounds, hook it up to a PC & run VSTis.
Price in India sir
No different than my DS61 with the exception of a color screen.
As teclas estão melhores e o motor zen-core, novos timbres inclusos.
And the sequencer
And more sounds
Way more sounds almost 4000 sounds without expansion I got one bout 2 months ago it's better than the ds to me especially the feel of the keybed
I have the 61-key. Best 61-key keybed I’ve ever played on.
still using Juno Di till now, I think it's this time to buy this one 😁
I disagree, I advise keeping your Di for now, but you do as you please. DS has the most user memory for custom/tweaked presets by far, and then its 16-part combos ("Performance presets") have none of this 2024 Juno-D's restrictions. Plus can run on rechargeable AAs, unlike this bulkier newer version.
Dude we need a new arranger workstation roland
I bought a JUNO-D6 and I find I can choose MSAMP for multi-sample when editing partial of tones, but I have no way to make/import a multi-sample! Single sample is nearly unusable because stretch or compress the sample to all pitch is unacceptable. I see JUNO-DS and FANTOM-0 can make multi-sample, will there be a firmware update to allow JUNO-D to make multi-sample?
Cross your fingers.
Is this guy David Ahlund? I watched his video 15 years ago promoting roland products like SH201 and VSynth with his bald drummer friend. Time flies now they are both bald.
How to avilable Indian market sir pls reply
..I wanna buy juno d6, pls tell me can i import sounds from zenology pro 2 vst software into juno d6? regards
You should be able to. If the ability is missing, Roland should add it later. The whole point of this new keyboard is Roland Cloud/Zenology compatibility.
if anyone can answer this:
I started learning piano last year and want a nice long lasting 88 key piano. But i do write music and i really would want synth capabilities. one more thing essential is the Action.
This seems to have everything but im not sure if it has an authentic Piano sound. I was considering FP E50 before this cuz of supernatural engine+Zencore. But this sounds more fun to use. Can anyone suggest?
Fantom-08
@@Jason75913 bruh the price on that. Sorry I did not mention. It should be around the price of FP E50. maybe a little more works.. but not uber expensive.
Hello, how many performances can be saved in this keyboard?
128
@@Jason75913 thank you
the knobs are cutoff, resonance, attack, release
can we assign different fx to those knobs like Juno DS ?
Likely
Yes. There’s a button to the left of the display that lets you do assign functions to the knobs.
My dudes from Roland... have ya'll forgot about your own Juno-D from 2005?... So we have 2 synths with the exact same name? No Juno-D 2024 or v2 or something like that?...
In this Japanese demo: th-cam.com/video/IqovigLpWqI/w-d-xo.html
One of the guys seems to be a product dev. He says that in honor of this being the 20th anniversary of the Juno line of keyboards, this latest Juno was named "Juno-D" to honor the product line's beginning. That's cool, but confusing for everyone else, lol
We got the first Juno-D in 2005, but Japan got it in 2004 first.
@@Jason75913 yup it looks like Roland went the Microsoft route with weird naming like Xbox 380, Windows 10 after 8 and so on
How big is expansion memory in this new JUNO D ?
How can we transfer svd patches svd file from juno ds to juno D6 ???
I can’t load it , looks like it’s a different svd file that is not supporting in new D6.
Please some explanation Roland
Different sound engines. They are incompatible.
You must copy parameter by parameter, by hand.
At least the waveform names for the Partials are all the same, though their numbers are different.
Certain parameters, like TVF Cutoff, now have a 0-1023 range instead of 0-127. New virtual analogue oscillators from Jupiter-80 are now available, and much more.
