They occasionally will make a "love letter to Stays" type of video or a just for fun, bright concept video. They are definitely not targeting mainstream as the main focus for those lighter videos - they typically have far, far less views than their usual, but they make them anyway as thank you gifts to the fans. Last summer was "Surfin'" (you might actually like it though only because it is clearly meant to be silly and contains just your faves Felix, Changbin, and Lee Know).

it's all right! stray kids' discography includes more than 30 genres of music, so they have songs with rock vibes. moreover, this song was a gift for fans, since July 31 (upd. it's actually August 1st) is the day when the name of the fandom "stay" was invented. they have a lot of songs with strong rap, but they don't stop there, so what you didn't like is just your taste, and that's fine! Like you, I also enjoyed the video, and feel like this would be a great road trip to the beach type of spring break song, however, certainly not one that I would gravitate towards on a daily among their huge discography. However, I do love the fact that Stray Kids continues to explore different genres and just make music that they like. A bit of additional info about this song: this song was presented as a gift to STAYs 4th birthday which is today (Aug 1st 2022), and 3Racha made the song while they (all 8 kids) were on vacay together before the Oddinary/Maniac promotion started and decided to drop it for this. However, they must've shot the music video recently because of the hair color and Hyunjin's obvious arm injury, and it looks like my backyard, LA maybe? It was our birthday present!!! It is that a day like today they gave the name of "stay" to the fandom and this week they were also uploading a lot of content for that. As far as I know (I'm also a babystay) this belongs to a series of songs (not the album) called Mixtape that are more relaxed. Fun fact: For a long time there has been speculation that they would make a rock song, Chan was even asked at recent concerts. It's funny that they fulfilled a whim like this today

I've never heard other kpop sounding like this, but I have heard Disney channel stuff like this. I love how Stray Kids can put out an edm one day and then a pop rock song the next.
This song was a gift for STAY's birthday and it's a bop summer song, imo this is the best thing that happened to me all summer. (until the 13th of August where I will be getting married but you know). You don't have to absolutely love all of their songs, as they said in God's menu, they have something for everybody, and it's okay not to like something, as long as people don't go around saying it's shit. They tried a new concept and it is not going to be for everybody. There are rumours of a rock comeback, and I am *so* excited. Also, not Han forgetting the lyrics for lip-syncing again, bless him T-T (but like let's be real for a second, if there is one thing Stray Kids cannot pull off, it's lipsyncing...) I love all of them so much. This was probably filmed when they had no schedules in Japan, after Hyunjin broke his hand in the US (you can see his cast in the scene with Lee Know and the cocktail in the mv part). It's pop-punk for a lighthearted summer song meant to tell people it's ok to relax. They made this as a birthday gift for us during their short vacation. It's definitely not for the mainstream; it's a STAY gift to give us all a moment of beachy chill. They never make the STAY bday-gift songs for mass appeal; they're meant as a direct communication to be understood by fandom, who are aware of what's going on with the members at that time, basically. Every single STAY song has that in common in one way or another. SKZ are at close to 140 songs now. It would be boring as hell and a waste of their skills if all of those sounded the same and every single song was a rap-centric EDM track with a massive drop. This isn't my preferred style, but it's a nice palate cleanser, and it makes the other stuff even more enjoyable when a few songs like this are sprinkled among them in the playlists. It turns out that after two or three runs on the playlist while trying to survive a drive in 100-degree heat, this song becomes a bouncy little break in between screaming through Side Effects and Mirror and Voices and Awaken. In SKZ Land, Mixtape means it won't be a hard-hitting banger; that's not what the Mixtapes are for. Mixtapes are one-offs, deviations from their more expected, more numerous hard songs. Any SKZ track that has the name "Mixtape: some title" will be a deviation from the hard stuff (not counting the old numbered Mixtapes, which have been retitled). OH, On Track, Gone Days, and Time Out are all non-bangers; they're bops instead. There are also plenty of other songs that aren't rap-centered hard-drop bangers, like Secret Secret, Winter Falls, Get Cool, Awkward Silence, Levanter, Sorry I Like You, Grow Up, EX, Neverending Story, FAM, Scars, Fairytale, Call, Sunshine, Blueprint... Some of these I adore (I would punch a snapping turtle in defense of Neverending Story, and Secret Secret is emotional evisceration); others I appreciate the quality of but don't have a preference for (Call is cute, but it won't ever be my specific tastes, and that's ok). In other words, the point of SKZ is that they're not locked into one sound and explicitly don't want to be. There are enough songs and styles in their constantly growing discography that there's something for everyone. We can tailor recommendations to account for styles you don't like and to match your preference for a more singular sound rather than the breadth of the discography. _(I keep editing this, trying to make it sound like the info in my head, but I think the tone is still coming out wrong, and yt took away my emojis, so I can't even go scrolling to try to figure out what works. But fwiw, this is meant to clarify Mixtapes so he'll be aware of what to expect if he encounters others, and to reassure that we all know tastes vary and are happy to keep recommending songs that seem like they'll fit personal tastes.)_

@@TeddyGreyOS I actually discovered Stray Kids through anime. They did both the OP and the ED to a Japanese anime based on a Korean mahnwa called Tower of God: 'Top' and 'Slump'. Slump is, to this day, one of my favorite Stray Kids songs. They did it live in one take on a Japanese TH-cam channel called "First Take." Would be a cool reaction if you haven't already done it - I'm bingeing your SKZ playlist 😉
I love this song for many different reasons 1) this very much has like a 2000-2010s pop punk sound very reminiscent of stuff from the band all time low which I used to listen to a lot when I was in high school 2) you don’t hear a lot of rock or pop punk elements in kpop which is really refreshing and it definitely gives that summer vibe 3) Changbin’s rap literally makes this song like I will sometimes just replay his rap multiple times 4) I think Changbin and Chan’s voices very much suit the genre of pop punk or rock and I wanna hear more of that from them maybe with a more Green Day or blink-182 vibe I think that would be super fun
Yeah I was surprised by this one, it’s a very different sound for them. I enjoyed it more on second listen because I knew what to expect haha. The rap part between Hyunjin and Han was definitely my favourite. I do prefer their other usual stuff but this one is still one I like and good for a feel-good pick me up.
Yup, my reaction to these types of songs from them is always "hmmm, that wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been". I can take average middle of the road pop music from them that I'd never put up with from anyone else. I think not just because it's them, but because no matter what they do, they always have a high standard of competence, and they have so much fun that there is a bit of freshness even in something so familiar as this. This one's not going on any of my playlists on purpose, but if it shows up randomly, I probably won't be in agony until I hit the "next" button, which is more than I can say for most similar stuff. I might even let it play out, depending on my mood. They often do these sweet, slightly bland songs for the fandom. It was the 4th "birthday" for the Stay fandom last week.These songs are not for wide release and they don't try to get them airplay, it's just an easy, "let's not break any new ground" thank you gift that they don't have to takes risks with or work too hard on. Oddly enough, a lot of Stays love them and call them favorites. Maybe it's kind of like if your sweetheart is a gourmet chef known for way out weird type stuff like purple foamy jelly that tastes like minty ham, but for your birthday they bake you a totally normal 2 layer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting because it's not about them showing off, but giving a gift the whole family can enjoy easily.... This is personal my favorite kind of song by Stray Kid's; the inspirational, fun, Summer-y, cute etc. type of song, so this was right up my alley. Also, it being for the fans is a huge bonus as well. It's okay you don't like every genre/type of song under the sun. I love Stray Kid's discography as a whole and my favorites list keeps expanding, but THIS, THIS is what I love the most by them. Stray Kids are definitely in a league of their own. I don't know many groups that make a Rock song like this and also make music like "Thunderous", "Circus" and "Maze of Memories." Its impressive and I am glad you surprisingly enjoyed it.

It's very intersting what you say at the end : if it was any other band you wouldn't enjoy it. In the Kpop fandoms, I see a lot of comments sayin' "OMG They really have no bad songs". And I'm a bit perplexed because even for artists that I REALLLY love, I never like every single song of theirs, especially if they are very versatile, I'll always end up finding a song "not that good to MY ears" and it's okay, as long as the artists and some listeners like it ! But what you say says it all. When they say they have no bad songs, it's probably 'cause the song is from a group they fancy. So earing their voice, seeing them on the MV, knowing the secret or touching meaning behind it... all of that adds to the pleasure : maybe, the song alone wouldn't be so nice if it was from a band they don't know. I would not listen to this song, I don't hate it but I don't like it that much... "not bad but not good" you know. But it's okay :) It's a sweet rock style, why not ! They have soooo many songs I like, if they want to do this kind of release for their fans from time to time, I don't mind ! No one forces me to listen to it ^^ ... this is actually kinda the opposite of a mainstream appeal, they released it outside of a comeback for the anniversary of naming their fans stay. this is a style of music i enjoy IMMENSELY, but i also think it's really cool in a way that shows how much of an understanding 3racha have of genre. they understand the fundamentals of what make a song hip hop or edm or pop punk and can explore any genre as a result and i think it's so sick to watch them expand their music catalogue. a 'something for everyone' vibe. so glad you reacted to this, i absolutely wondered how you'd feel about changbin's parts (stuck on repeat for me, another binnie bias) and it always makes me happy that even when something isn't your jam, you wanna give it a fair shot and vibe and still be honest in your opinion. it seems like a lot of reactors prefer to just react positively to most stuff instead of honestly so i appreciate that you share your thoughts!

This feels like peak late 90s/early 00's alt pop rock. It reminds me of Good Charlotte. Oddly this is the second song this year I've hear from Kpop that has this feel, the other is from Dreamcatcher Dami's solo. I honestly love it. It's a major blast from the past for me. Skz do songs like that from time to time. You don't have to like every song by them. It's normal to not like EVERY song by an artist. I'm the biggest MJ fan and there are songs I don't like as much as the other songs e.g. Those soft ballads are not for everyone. I feel you cause I'm not a big fan of those kinda songs either. Their music has always astrayed & been hated on but it is still their pride, stating clearly that they will never stop doing their own thing. Then the hyunjin and han flow and I felt satisfied as well. I got hooked on Stray Kids because of the rap line. Changbin hooked me first in Thunderous then Han and now I love all their music. The vibe of this song is nothing like the ones that you really like, I totally get it. I love Stray Kids. They are my top 3 Korean artists. They just have something so unique and different. They hit so hard. God's menu was my favourite song from them but it's been knocked down to second for Venom. Changbin is my favourite as well. I love them all though but his voice has such an interesting tone to it. They are the definition of chaotic. But when they released Time Out, not going to lie I was so off put by it (not that I haven't heard music like this before) but because it isn't their usual sound. However, after listening to it again and again and understanding the lyrics it really grew on me. It really is just a summer vibe, having fun and relaxing. it's worth noting that a lot of them are fans of pop punk!! even dipping their toes into mid-2000's emo music. and this is a pretty straight forward pop punk song rather than boybandy imo, so they def used this little one-off to experiment with that. a lot of their earlier stuff as a band leaned into rock, so it's not unheard of for them!! i can def see how it's not everyone's cup of tea though, but we all gotta admit that changbin's parts are stand out in this song :)
Oh, I understand not all of SKZ songs can be liked. It's OK. But my favorite genre of music is Stray Kids. Even when a song isn't like what I usually listen to, they always manage to make it sound like something I'll enjoy. They seem to write music perfectly for my musical taste. Stays always wanted something kind of a song like this so they gave us a birthday gift a little bit different song. But I am happy to being able to listen different genres from Stray kids. I think a good artist should try different kind of things too. Yeah this is definitely a rock track, reminiscent of the early 00's pop punk: Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, etc. It's a lot of the kind of music Bang Chan liked and grew up listening to, and he's talked about wanting to try writing in this genre. Honestly, it's a genre that not a lot of bands are writing in any more, even though to us who are older it seems like the quintessential 'boy band' sound. Personally, I love it! I love this genre and style of music, it makes me so happy and nostalgic. But yeah, I don't think they're making this to be 'palatable' to a large audience or anything, I really think they're just making it because they like it! And totally fair if it's not a sound/style you're into. SKZ really do like trying out every genre, which means that sometimes they don't all hit ❤

this isn't getting any radio play :) i know people said it's a present for stay already but i also wanted to add it's a mixtape which always sound a bit different (you can check out on track and OH, the sound is always gentler... idk just different). it will go on the album eventually. also it's about them having fun and stays have been really begging for them to take a BREAK... and of course they take a break and then make a song about it.... and a video. sigh but they tried to rest lol. also i too dislike this kind of music generally so i was really pleasantly surprised by how the sound changed by the end and became more skz. it's why i love them :D

They occasionally will make a "love letter to Stays" type of video or a just for fun, bright concept video. They are definitely not targeting mainstream as the main focus for those lighter videos - they typically have far, far less views than their usual, but they make them anyway as thank you gifts to the fans. Last summer was "Surfin'" (you might actually like it though only because it is clearly meant to be silly and contains just your faves Felix, Changbin, and Lee Know).

Stays birthday is actually on August 1st. the song dropped on Aug 1st 12am KST but for alot of us it dropped on July 31st.

Like you, I also enjoyed the video, and feel like this would be a great road trip to the beach type of spring break song, however, certainly not one that I would gravitate towards on a daily among their huge discography. However, I do love the fact that Stray Kids continues to explore different genres and just make music that they like.
A bit of additional info about this song: this song was presented as a gift to STAYs 4th birthday which is today (Aug 1st 2022), and 3Racha made the song while they (all 8 kids) were on vacay together before the Oddinary/Maniac promotion started and decided to drop it for this. However, they must've shot the music video recently because of the hair color and Hyunjin's obvious arm injury, and it looks like my backyard, LA maybe? Anyways, thank you for your constant support and content on Stray Kids and your genuine comments, and also for spreading your music knowledge with us.
It was our birthday present!!! It is that a day like today they gave the name of "stay" to the fandom and this week they were also uploading a lot of content for that. As far as I know (I'm also a babystay) this belongs to a series of songs (not the album) called Mixtape that are more relaxed. Fun fact: For a long time there has been speculation that they would make a rock song, Chan was even asked at recent concerts. It's funny that they fulfilled a whim like this today

I've never heard other kpop sounding like this, but I have heard Disney channel stuff like this. I love how Stray Kids can put out an edm one day and then a pop rock song the next.
This song was a gift for STAY's birthday and it's a bop summer song, imo this is the best thing that happened to me all summer. (until the 13th of August where I will be getting married but you know). You don't have to absolutely love all of their songs, as they said in God's menu, they have something for everybody, and it's okay not to like something, as long as people don't go around saying it's shit.
They tried a new concept and it is not going to be for everybody. There are rumours of a rock comeback, and I am *so* excited.
Also, not Han forgetting the lyrics for lip-syncing again, bless him T-T (but like let's be real for a second, if there is one thing Stray Kids cannot pull off, it's lipsyncing...) I love all of them so much. This was probably filmed when they had no schedules in Japan, after Hyunjin broke his hand in the US (you can see his cast in the scene with Lee Know and the cocktail in the mv part). I hope they get some rest soon, they have been working so hard.

I'm glad that they had the opportunity to show something like this. also a lot stays asked for a song in a rock concept. and you're right! on a livestream skz said that they had a lot of fun and healing time during filming. so we are also glad that this song will be associated with good memories.

I feel like your Stray Kids mixtape journey is going to be fun. Lol. Their mixtapes are always so different than what they normally do.
It's pop-punk for a lighthearted summer song meant to tell people it's ok to relax. They made this as a birthday gift for us during their short vacation. It's definitely not for the mainstream; it's a STAY gift to give us all a moment of beachy chill. They never make the STAY bday-gift songs for mass appeal; they're meant as a direct communication to be understood by fandom, who are aware of what's going on with the members at that time, basically. Every single STAY song has that in common in one way or another.
SKZ are at close to 140 songs now. It would be boring as hell and a waste of their skills if all of those sounded the same and every single song was a rap-centric EDM track with a massive drop. This isn't my preferred style, but it's a nice palate cleanser, and it makes the other stuff even more enjoyable when a few songs like this are sprinkled among them in the playlists. It turns out that after two or three runs on the playlist while trying to survive a drive in 100-degree heat, this song becomes a bouncy little break in between screaming through Side Effects and Mirror and Voices and Awaken.
In SKZ Land, Mixtape means it won't be a hard-hitting banger; that's not what the Mixtapes are for. Mixtapes are one-offs, deviations from their more expected, more numerous hard songs. Any SKZ track that has the name "Mixtape: some title" will be a deviation from the hard stuff (not counting the old numbered Mixtapes, which have been retitled). OH, On Track, Gone Days, and Time Out are all non-bangers; they're bops instead.
There are also plenty of other songs that aren't rap-centered hard-drop bangers, like Secret Secret, Winter Falls, Get Cool, Awkward Silence, Levanter, Sorry I Like You, Grow Up, EX, Neverending Story, FAM, Scars, Fairytale, Call, Sunshine, Blueprint... Some of these I adore (I would punch a snapping turtle in defense of Neverending Story, and Secret Secret is emotional evisceration); others I appreciate the quality of but don't have a preference for (Call is cute, but it won't ever be my specific tastes, and that's ok). In other words, the point of SKZ is that they're not locked into one sound and explicitly don't want to be. There are enough songs and styles in their constantly growing discography that there's something for everyone.
We can tailor recommendations to account for styles you don't like and to match your preference for a more singular sound rather than the breadth of the discography.

@@TeddyGreyOS I actually discovered Stray Kids through anime. They did both the OP and the ED to a Japanese anime based on a Korean mahnwa called Tower of God: 'Top' and 'Slump'. Slump is, to this day, one of my favorite Stray Kids songs.
They did it live in one take on a Japanese TH-cam channel called "First Take." Would be a cool reaction if you haven't already done it - I'm bingeing your SKZ playlist 😉
I love this song for many different reasons 1) this very much has like a 2000-2010s pop punk sound very reminiscent of stuff from the band all time low which I used to listen to a lot when I was in high school 2) you don’t hear a lot of rock or pop punk elements in kpop which is really refreshing and it definitely gives that summer vibe 3) Changbin’s rap literally makes this song like I will sometimes just replay his rap multiple times 4) I think Changbin and Chan’s voices very much suit the genre of pop punk or rock and I wanna hear more of that from them maybe with a more Green Day or blink-182 vibe I think that would be super fun
Yeah I was surprised by this one, it’s a very different sound for them. I enjoyed it more on second listen because I knew what to expect haha. The rap part between Hyunjin and Han was definitely my favourite. I do prefer their other usual stuff but this one is still one I like and good for a feel-good pick me up.

Yup, my reaction to these types of songs from them is always "hmmm, that wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been". I can take average middle of the road pop music from them that I'd never put up with from anyone else. I think not just because it's them, but because no matter what they do, they always have a high standard of competence, and they have so much fun that there is a bit of freshness even in something so familiar as this. This one's not going on any of my playlists on purpose, but if it shows up randomly, I probably won't be in agony until I hit the "next" button, which is more than I can say for most similar stuff. I might even let it play out, depending on my mood.
They often do these sweet, slightly bland songs for the fandom. It was the 4th "birthday" for the Stay fandom last week.These songs are not for wide release and they don't try to get them airplay, it's just an easy, "let's not break any new ground" thank you gift that they don't have to takes risks with or work too hard on. Oddly enough, a lot of Stays love them and call them favorites. Maybe it's kind of like if your sweetheart is a gourmet chef known for way out weird type stuff like purple foamy jelly that tastes like minty ham, but for your birthday they bake you a totally normal 2 layer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting because it's not about them showing off, but giving a gift the whole family can enjoy easily....

This is personal my favorite kind of song by Stray Kid's; the inspirational, fun, Summer-y, cute etc. type of song, so this was right up my alley. Also, it being for the fans is a huge bonus as well. It's okay you don't like every genre/type of song under the sun. I love Stray Kid's discography as a whole and my favorites list keeps expanding, but THIS, THIS is what I love the most by them. Stray Kids are definitely in a league of their own. I don't know many groups that make a Rock song like this and also make music like "Thunderous", "Circus" and "Maze of Memories." Its impressive and I am glad you surprisingly enjoyed it.

In the Kpop fandoms, I see a lot of comments sayin' "OMG They really have no bad songs". And I'm a bit perplexed because even for artists that I REALLLY love, I never like every single song of theirs, especially if they are very versatile, I'll always end up finding a song "not that good to MY ears" and it's okay, as long as the artists and some listeners like it !
But what you say says it all. When they say they have no bad songs, it's probably 'cause the song is from a group they fancy. So earing their voice, seeing them on the MV, knowing the secret or touching meaning behind it... all of that adds to the pleasure : maybe, the song alone wouldn't be so nice if it was from a band they don't know.
I would not listen to this song, I don't hate it but I don't like it that much... "not bad but not good" you know. But it's okay :) It's a sweet rock style, why not ! They have soooo many songs I like, if they want to do this kind of release for their fans from time to time, I don't mind ! No one forces me to listen to it ^^ ... I’m actually glad they did this song, it’s been some tough months with Felix’s injury, Hyunjin being injured also, Covid, concert dates cancelled, and JYP overworking them… these songs are to remind us STAYs that they meant what the say in Venom: got caught in the web on porpoise and they love it!

this is actually kinda the opposite of a mainstream appeal, they released it outside of a comeback for the anniversary of naming their fans stay. this is a style of music i enjoy IMMENSELY, but i also think it's really cool in a way that shows how much of an understanding 3racha have of genre. they understand the fundamentals of what make a song hip hop or edm or pop punk and can explore any genre as a result and i think it's so sick to watch them expand their music catalogue. a 'something for everyone' vibe. so glad you reacted to this, i absolutely wondered how you'd feel about changbin's parts (stuck on repeat for me, another binnie bias) and it always makes me happy that even when something isn't your jam, you wanna give it a fair shot and vibe and still be honest in your opinion. it seems like a lot of reactors prefer to just react positively to most stuff instead of honestly so i appreciate that you share your thoughts!

This feels like peak late 90s/early 00's alt pop rock. It reminds me of Good Charlotte. Yooo! I feel you! The beginning was like "huh?" and reminded me of like early 2000's punk rock. Then Changbin came through and I was like OKAYYY! Then the hyunjin and han flow and I felt satisfied as well. I got hooked on Stray Kids because of the rap line. Changbin hooked me first in Thunderous then Han and now I love all their music. So I feel you my guy.
The vibe of this song is nothing like the ones that you really like, I totally get it. Every group has songs that we instantly like or love, and there's songs that we may need to listen to a few times. And there's songs that we can't relate or not keen on. I love Stray Kids. They are my top 3 Korean artists. They just have something so unique and different. They hit so hard. God's menu was my favourite song from them but it's been knocked down to second for Venom. Changbin is my favourite as well. I love them all though but his voice has such an interesting tone to it. They are the definition of chaotic. But when they released Time Out, not going to lie I was so off put by it (not that I haven't heard music like this before) but because it isn't their usual sound. However, after listening to it again and again and understanding the lyrics it really grew on me. It really is just a summer vibe, having fun and relaxing. It was a surprise release as a gift for Stay's birthday. It's a song just for us which is awesome! We've been begging them to do a rock concept so they surprised us with this. Plus the meaning of the lyrics. It's awesome. They filmed it when they were in LA for their tour. Plus we got singing Felix. What's not to love ha ha.

Don't worry, we already expected this is not ur cup of tea haha although you can't help but bopping ur heads tho (esp. when changbin's part). When you asked something like "is skz made this song for the mainstream/radioplay purpose" it's just makes me realize that skz really makes music based on their mood/their own stories, and they don't really care if their music didn't fit the mainstream taste as long as it's meaningful and unique. As you can see the way they chose music for title track vs music for us to enjoy based on moods (and for Time Out, a perfect gift for Stay to enjoy our time with pop punk summer bop). I got such a surprise when I seen it pop up its so different to what they usually create but I love itttttt
it's worth noting that a lot of them are fans of pop punk!! even dipping their toes into mid-2000's emo music. and this is a pretty straight forward pop punk song rather than boybandy imo, so they def used this little one-off to experiment with that. a lot of their earlier stuff as a band leaned into rock, so it's not unheard of for them!! i can def see how it's not everyone's cup of tea though, but we all gotta admit that changbin's parts are stand out in this song :)

Oh, I understand not all of SKZ songs can be liked. It's OK. But my favorite genre of music is Stray Kids. Even when a song isn't like what I usually listen to, they always manage to make it sound like something I'll enjoy. They seem to write music perfectly for my musical taste. I don't know how they do it. But I adore their entire discography. We found each other.
And this song is a great gift for STAY's birthday. I love it. 3RACHA wrote it while they were on vacation all together.

it's amazing how ppl w different tastes in music can stan 1 group. (this is prob my favorite song and ur fav is most likely not my cup of tea) but skz have done so many genres that we can vibe to this grp despite being so diff hahaha anyway happy stay day teddy + to all stays out there !!
The heavy breathing is just them making fun of something called the 'ending fairy' which is something you'll see in tv live shows (you've probably seen it in kingdom). It's basically just an unnecessarily long and awkward close up of a single idol after the performance.

It doesn’t sound like a normal skz song at all, but they don’t fucking care about that and that’s why we love them 😁

If you prefer the harder drop and rapping then this could be a palate cleanser. Besides as soon as you label the Skz as a type, they change it up and confuse the he!! out of you. And that’s why they reach out to a large audience. Female, male, old, young, all nationalities and races. I’m GenX in US and they take me back to my 80’s VanHalen fan girl days. Love the Stray Kids.

Stays always wanted something kind of a song like this so they gave us a birthday gift a little bit different song. But I am happy to being able to listen different genres from Stray kids. I think a good artist should try different kind of things too. Btw I totally agree this is the definition of young boy band trying to produce music in their garage and then it turn out to be a teenager, love hate friendship movie.
Yeah this is definitely a rock track, reminiscent of the early 00's pop punk: Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, etc. It's a lot of the kind of music Bang Chan liked and grew up listening to, and he's talked about wanting to try writing in this genre. Honestly, it's a genre that not a lot of bands are writing in any more, even though to us who are older it seems like the quintessential 'boy band' sound. Personally, I love it! I love this genre and style of music, it makes me so happy and nostalgic. But yeah, I don't think they're making this to be 'palatable' to a large audience or anything, I really think they're just making it because they like it! And totally fair if it's not a sound/style you're into. SKZ really do like trying out every genre, which means that sometimes they don't all hit ❤

Not my cup of tea either, what I enjoy the most is the constant love exchange between Stray Kids and Stays, between us as a community and between them as members. That just brings up the best in all they do

this isn't getting any radio play :) i know people said it's a present for stay already but i also wanted to add it's a mixtape which always sound a bit different (you can check out on track and OH, the sound is always gentler... idk just different). it will go on the album eventually. also it's about them having fun and stays have been really begging for them to take a BREAK... and of course they take a break and then make a song about it.... and a video. sigh but they tried to rest lol.
also i too dislike this kind of music generally so i was really pleasantly surprised by how the sound changed by the end and became more skz. it's why i love them :D
