All you need to do now is flash a fast load CRT and you can speed up the loading of your D64's and G64's . I have Action Replay 6 on mine . After you mount the disk you can just press F1 and it will load the 1st thing on the disk or F3 to see the contents of the disk . Or if you didn't know about the DMA load part it lets you load D64's or G64's as fast as the CRT files . Then no need for a Fast Load Cart being flashed. Enjoy
Love the ultimate cart and the U64e I've both ... if you use gideons kernal rom .. it injects the games via dma.. instant boot d64 and prg files .. enjoying your c64 video, loving the clear case 😉
the "usb" next to the serial is not an usb but for the tape adapter if you get that Pro tip: 4:30 when you record a screen (or anything that does not move) please turn off auto focus
Do you have on ram expansion or you have to plug in an REU then the cart into it? Looks close to perfect, would be cool to have cpu accel and video graphics enhancement as well, thanks for the review. I gave up my C64 around 1990 then went Amiga 500 then PC.
I may be wrong, and tell me if I am, but in my cursory research it seems like this is the only one of its kind to get. For the small-ish differences in price I just don’t think any other adapter/expander cartridge I’ve thus far seen does nearly as much useful stuff. I mean, this seems to make the computer even more useable than it already was. One question, if you know, will having one of these in make geos run fast?
Great video. Also got the cartridge and I absolutely love it, but unfortunately the Metal Dust game doesn't run on the UII+ when you get past the part where you have select the device you are using. Not sure if in my case it is because I'm still using the 3.10 firmware or if you really can run the game without using the real scpu.
@@JustJamie1983 Ok. I might have made the wrong selections. I don't have a jiffydos image, so on that one I just use the standard option. But on the top one for the drive I selected 1581 drive, not sure which other option I should use. Again, might be because I'm using an old firmware. Thank you anyway for the video. Been wanting to get the U64 for the scpu option because of Metal Dust, but if I can run it on UII+ that's even better.
Great video. So this cart emulates the SuperCPU??!! I purchased the Chameleon64 V1 back in '16 with the thought a core would eventually be created to emulate the SuperCPU. I'm still waiting to no avail. I've been wanting to play metal dust for almost 20 years. If the Ultimate ii+l does it, I'll be ordering by days end!
@robertpanuski4213 I also had the Chameleon once. The only thing i preferred with Chameleon was it's VGA port. From what I can tell. The Ultimate seems to be much better all around as well as being around £90 cheaper.
Been looking at getting one of these for while, i use Kung fu flash cart as my go to cart, as didnt like the sdtiec or pi hat much myself..and dont use anymore, so kung fu flash cart is one i like using....but may treat myself to one of these..
@@JustJamie1983 not sure what you mean by that exactly. The UII does nothing from a processing standpoint. No 65c816 instructions or anything are available. The 6510 is still doing all the work.
@@JustJamie1983 No, it does not. The crack screen and the Protovision loader run on regular 64s but the game itself requires a SuperCPU. You cut the video right before things fell apart which suggests to me that you're dishonest and trying to get views by spreading falsehoods.
@gklinger I think we established this already...at no point did I mention in the thumbnail or description supercpu, so no. This isn't an attempt to get views...

Hey, thanks for the info 😀
The constant change of focus made me think I was having a stroke !!!
😱🤣
Ah, sorry to hear that. Are you OK?

Yup. To be honest. I haven't really played around too much with it yet. I have been too busy making videos haha
@JustJamie1983 I know the feeling, mate 👍
Nice coverage of this cartridge. Thanks for sharing.
No probs. It's a great cartridge and I highly reccomend it.

@boherrmannsen8219 works fine as a USB port too 😉
Nice piece of kit
Absolutely 💯
Hi there love your videos mate! But a video of how to get metal dust working with ultimate 2 cartridge would be amazing!
It's not going to happen. Please check description.

@@cybernit3 nope. Like I say in the video. It supports REU. No unit required.

It should do, yes.
Thanks Jamie.
My pleasure 😀
Nice review, thank you very much 😊👌
My pleasure 😀
Nice video! I have the former version of this cartridge II. I'm not sure if it also has REU emulation. I will check this out. Thanks!
No problem at all.

Nope. It definitely works. Just a process of selecting the correct options. You can also add a jiffydos image too.

@PedroDuarte-v9r no worries. Make sure to update it.

The last time I used a cheaper solution. It was when the SD2IEC first came out. I wasn't too impressed so stuck with the more expensive ones since.
There is no Super CPU emulation on the UltimateII+L.
Yes, we know.
Ultimate II does not play SuperCPU games.
Please see description.
I can’t get Super Stardust to run, the game crashes where you cut your video
Is your C64 NTSC or PAL?
@dougjohnson4266 pal
The UII+ is a great cart, but is not a SuperCPU or even a 6502 accelerator.
Nope. But it plays superCPU games.

The finest? Debatable.
Exactly. Please debate.
Yes. Let's hear your debate 😊
