TBH, the main difference between S1-4 and S5 and 6 is: In S1-4. the main theme with the dancers are mainly their relationships with other dancers. In S5 and 6, the man theme with each dancer is proving to one another that they are better dancers or trying to improve. If you notice in S1, 2 and 3, you don't see dancers practicing trying to be better than one another (except Noah in S3). Instead, you see relationship problems like Jiley in S2 and 4, Michelle, Stephanie and Emily in S1 and Eldon and Thalia in S3. In S5 and 6, you see a lot of dancers practicing like in S6: Summer, Jacque and Richelle are fighting for the best dancer and everyone is really trying to probe themselve (like Kingston, Finn and Kenzie). There are a couple of relationship problems (like Jacquie and Davis and Jacquie and Noah) but compare to the level in S1 - 4, it is quite little

The Next Step can do what ever the flip they want. You have to respect that. And this was not exactly the same as S1 at all. James didn't flunk school he was actually trying but his lover riley helped him through it. Michelle got everyone on their knees to beg to his mom. But kingston was trying to better his dance moves by skipping school after hearing about summer being home schooled. He just wanted to prove he can take things seriously too and not be over looked for the regional dances. His bromance with Ozzy and the spirit of the team helped him through. You see it may sound like the same but if you really understand the storyline and actually fully watch each scene in depth. You don't have to copy what others say just because it's a popular comment. 😂
I skipped every episode in season 5 and 6 and I clicked on this and it’s literally the SAME THING. when I hear that someone gonna get kicked off the group for doing something stupid it’s literally the same storyline.
