In regards to the videos description @mickeybeam75 , I totally agree, the last days of Breakbeat hardcore, when Hardcore, Jungle and very very early minimal Happy Hardcore were mixed together were some interesting and great tunes. I also agree, I couldn't hang onto the 4 on the floor stomp hardcore much. Less than a handful of Hardcore/Gabber tunes here and there caught my attention, but could never fully dive into it. DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer made some great tunes, Just Wanna Hold You Tight, You Are The One, Let's Do It, In Effect, and this tune were great!
That era, just before the Happy Hardcore / Jungle split, was wicked! I don't mind some early HH, then it lost the breaks, went ultra cheesy and I couldn't stomach it! This is one of those tracks that I know is cheese, but I can't help liking, lol! Lot of cheeky samples of some big tunes! Oh yeah, those Slamming Vinyl riddims you mention are all 🔥. Glad I bought 'em BITD!
Lol the description. Still def some soulful slammers to be found in ‘96, the odd one in ‘97, but man, it sure does feel like a genre/style full of potential ended abruptly and too soon... big respect mick!
@@louisthedjdon2952there’s a tape of him playing on Kool FM from ‘92, definitely the same one cos the MC says “shout out to Pepsi in the place”, solid DJ.
Does anyone know if these tunes have ever been remastered. Love all Red Alert and Mike Slammer bits and would love to add all the ? Series to my collection
I’ve been wondering what the name of this tune is, ever since I heard it on a Slipmatt tape in the early 90’s. I thought it was Bass Selective but realised it wasn’t fast/tough enough. Found this as I looked up who sample Bass Selective on WhoSampled.
Much preferred the breaks. 94/95 some of 96 before it went all bouncy techno. Breakbeat gave the music an edge. Today's hardcore is predictable and isn't really hardcore anymore
What is the original track the vocal is from on this track? That sample you had it you had it all boy. Can someone let me know please? Will appreciate a link to video on here if on here, with the original track where that vocal rip is from. Nice 1
@@worldwideundergroundmuzik In the Blow Out tune, that mickey already linked to, they had Elizabeth Troy sing the vocal. So there's no original sample you can find without the piano over it, but interestingly (to me at least lol) it sounds like they just had her copy a line from a Mariah Carey acapella. Check out Mariah Carey - Someday acapella, about 30 seconds in. I wonder if they originally used the mariah sample while coming up with the track, then had it re-sung for the release.

Cheeky little Prodigy sample in there?

❤️❤️👌👌
2.47 in..anyone know what tune the break is used on ???
Sounds like some parts were sampled on a 486 or non-MMX Pentium
A Commodore Amiga with a tracker program most likely
It’s the aliasing. Gives the samples a nice high frequency crunch especially with the low sample rates.
Amiga - OctoMED tracker. So many cheeky samples on this, all stitched together perfectly!
Yo Mickey where did you find out this was Red Alert and Mike Slammer?
