60% of ALL healthcare budget goes to salaries. Think about that for a second. 60% of all tax goes to social programs of one form or the other. Think about that for a second.
The reason 20 million odd people are not in employment is because of failed government policy, or, to point right a the guilty, ANC.
So why do I then get punished with extra taxes to cover for the corrupt ANC? They even live off my taxes getting free water and electricity even though they are millionaires.
Tax payers are being taken for granted.

    This is all nonsense.
I pay tax so that everyone else who isn't paying tax can get it for FREE. Why must I then have MORE of my money taken to pay for the very same thing? The cadres are stealing, and have been stealing money from the purpose of healthcare provision...get all that money back first then come talk to me about charging me twice to look after people who don't even give me a second thought.

As long as Netcare and other service providers like health care management get a good cut out of the deal they would sell out the hard pressed consumer who would be financing this either by increased taxation or by highly inflated medical scheme costs.

ANC will talk nicely to get to that money. Once they have the money they change tune and just do whatever they want. remember the COVID solidarity fund? Before they had their grubby hands on the cash they were very polite and cordial. Once they money was in the bag they turned around and started talking about only helping "previously disadvantaged people".

The family was on medical aid for many years. As minors our 2 children had 4 visits to the doctor between them. Unfortunately the coverage for dental and optician was totally inadequate. There will never be a system that works for everyone.

Sounds great for everyone working at a Corporate in the city's but what about the rest of the country and rural areas, or the fact that even if you have medical aid, you still have to get gap cover because specialist charges 4 times as much as the medical aids are willing to pay.

We need something different from the NHI. The fact that the NHS, where the public health cost was 21% of the UK national fiscus, is falling should be an indication on the long term unsustainability of these programs.

I am a great supporter of NHI and think it is a constitutional imperative. However, as someone who uses the national health system, I know that it does not have the capacity or attitudes to serve the entire population.
This scheme that is being suggested sounds very promising.

That attitude is exactly why unemployment is so high. Government cannot create jobs. Gov should step out of the way and let the private sector take over.

Thank you, Alec - the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Richard Friedland is a pragmatic genius, and the proof lies in the decades of hiis expert experience in the medical industry he is a person who is guided more by practical considerations than by ideals.
I hope that the majority of myopic minded people will see the many lights in the tunnel. Which is assisting the other aspects of
the people in need, employment, training and boosting the economy.
Phew 😊 thank goodness - Mister

Why is the government health care care so much lower than pre 1994, now we want to tuck into the private medical aid resources and then why not fix the government health system ɓack to what it it was 😢. Deep down do sticky fingers want to get hold of reserves of medical aid reserves 😢

Firstly they let go of qualified health care providers and replace CEO of the hospital with individual who doesn't know or understand how a hospital function. Individual who doesn't involve the various sections of health care on implementation that is why our health system is in the stat it is.

all working within the pharma complex and no discussion about taking responsibility for your own health through lifestyle choices. if people want cover let them pay for it but those of us who don't subscribe to interventions like chemotherapy cannot be expected to subsidise bad longterm health decisions. netcare, your meals are not the epitome of health... change your paradigm.
