Thanks for this vid. My Mega Exo BB7100 is wearing out after 20,000 km. I cannot finf a new mega exo BB so I considered replacing with Shimano. You, and some other guy, mentioned the super tight fit. I need to make a new plan...

Just wondering if you ever substituted any other bearings into this Bb?

Hey mate, I got to Your video while looking for info about shimano and FSA Gossamer compatibility. I was able to fit Gossamer MegaExo NBD crank inside shimano RS-500 BB, and yes... it's a tight fit. Though, I am not sure about that wave washer, since FSA is listing different BBs for both NBD and Pinch bolt cranksets, but I am not sure what is the difference between the BBs

I recorded this video a while back and no longer have that bike. I am pretty sure the crank wouldn't have matched a BBR-60 ultegra bottom bracket. I have been seeing comments saying that they were successful with this set up though. There's a slight chance I didn't use enough force to push the crank in at the time. Hard to tell.

Also I think the wave washer is there to take up any slack between the crankset axle and the bottom bracket bearings. I doubt it's bottom bracket cups dependent.

@@michalnkg6434 thx for the reply, of they were independent than FSA wouldn't show different compatible BB's. They advise br-6000 for nbd, and 6200 for pinch bolt crank (or the other way).
Anyway, I sent them a question

@@drake29a @michalnkg thought I'd chime in because I just made this mistake... I measured the installed width of the outer bearing faces for the FSA BB6200 and the Shimano BBR60. The Shimano is 1-2 mm wider (forgetting the actual numbers right now). I was able to get the spindle into the BBR60 (with some HARD mallet blows), but tightening down the NDS crankarm to the required torque destroyed the bearings. With the spindle fully inserted, the spline interface is still partially hidden inside the BB.
Visually the old RS500 looks like it might not be as wide as the BBR60. I haven't actually measured one but if so I could see it working out. The extra width wouldn't matter for pinch-bolt style cranks, but for these NBD cranks I decided to just stick with the FSA BBs, or just change the bearings inside the old FSA cups. Expensive mistake though... sure wish I'd found this video before spending the money on the BBR60 *and* the special tool to fit the silly 41mm interface.

@@bkm303 hmm sounds a bit strange to me. Pressfit rs500 is designed for 86mm socket, while screwed in BSA is either 68 or 70mm, maybe you used wrong BB in your case?
Currently I am using token ninja with it's bearings which are even tighter than shimano's the crank went in, but I am worried if it ever goes out... Though in token ninja I can replace bearings for fsa ones 37x24x7 that are compatible with their cranks, hope that their outer diameter is more accurate than inner

On what side does the wave washer go?
