I was wondering how this bag would work for travel and if it would fit enough clothes for a two week trip. I now have a much better idea how much it fits. Thanks for sharing this video.
I love your packing videos. I'm going to overseas for eleven days and your video inspired me to try to get everything to fit into a travel backpack, with a large purse/bag. I know I'll feel a lot more free that way.
I have to tell you that I really really love your videos, I've watched each one of them so many times, they really have helped me tremendously. The last packing videos were really hard for you, but you made it and it made me think that I could do it too. I am leaving on my first trip to Europe and first time packing light for such a long trip. I am sure I will be fine. Please keep the videos coming.
+La Negra Bella Thanks so much. I'm so glad! I've been making a lot of other videos but they are not about packing. They are about Mindset Mastery: th-cam.com/play/PLAgo4pR5JZ95grGkpigV_NtbZJw12dHm2.html
Thanks for this ... I have a 44L Tortuga backpack that looks bigger than yours and I have been freaking out because I am doing what you are doing but I am going to a tropical island ... so clothes are much smaller and lighter. I don't wear make up and I got my hair cut into a pixie ... so no hair fuss !!! I can do this !!!
I have watched all your packing videos sooo many times! they are really helpfull. so thank you for taking the time to make them!! I got really exited when you said you were going to Norway as I'm from Norway myself. Hope you have a wonderfull time, that the weather stays nice and that you get to see some of the wonderfull nature :D have a nice trip :)
Hello Tale!! I'm in Norway now. Thank you so much, I'm already having a great time. Weather is lovely as are the people! :) Please share the videos if you found them useful. +Tale Bjortomt
What about the pockets of the Scottevest? You could have packed the rest of your items in your purse by putting electronics and a few other small items in the vest.
I love your videos. I just purchased the Ebags weekender convertible junior and am wondering, are there airlines that will not accept it as a carry on? You mentioned people commented about the size of bags in previous posts. I thought I was safe ordering the junior!! Thank you. Love your tips and choices and manner. (And beautiful accent)
Oh thank you so so much! You're so sweet +Randa Hull :) This makes my day! You know, I've taken that Ebags Weekender (my favorite piece of luggage to date) on a lot of the major airlines but it's *possible* that the low-cost European carriers for shorter flights have an issue with it -in that case, they will probably gate-check it for you. I hope this helps.
I like your videos about packing, do you have any tips on how to pack cloths that wrinkle? About 99% of my cloths wrinkle, and I don't know how to pack them in such tiny packing cubes /bags? Please help.
+blue_bird Thank you so much! Hmmm. I would ask if you still want to take clothes that tend to wrinkle and might require ironing on trips> Are these all business clothes that are required for your trips? I do not specialize in clothes that wrinkles, I'm sorry :( my best advice is to look for alternatives to make your own life easier?
Farnoosh Brock Thank you so much for your reply and advice, I am preparing for a summer vacation and also a bit of exploration of Spain, unfortunately most of my casual clothes wrinkle, you can hardly find clothes that don't wrinkle in my small town where I live. Anyway thank you once again.
blue_bird you could try a packing envelope. I use the medium sized Eagle Creek. You will still get some wrinkles but not as bad as packing cubes. Depending on how you travel another method would be to create a really long burritto wrap. This would be good if you are staying in one accommodation for the length of your trip. You basically fold the clothes that you dont mind getting wrinkled first, creating the "filling". Then you would layout the next layer and put the filling in the layer and wrap the filling. I hope that makes sense. Its hard to describe in words. But you would go from the clothes you don't mind getting wrinkled(ie: pj, underwear, exercise clothes) on the inside to the clothes that you don't want wrinkled on the outside(ie dress shirts or blouses). Then when you arrive at your accommodation you just unwrap and hang. I use a combination of the packing envelope and wrapping method when I travel. Of course, this will get bothersome if you are changing accommodations every other day. One factor that makes wrinkles worse is packing everything too tightly. If you try to jam all your clothes into packing cubes and then jam the packing cubes into your bag, that will ensure bad wrinkles. Another way around wrinkles is buying clothes with material that already has a wrinkly fabric/style. Then it doesn't matter if it gets wrinkled. One other method i read, which I would never do but may work for someone else, is to just bring dirty clothes and go to the laundromat or drop clothes off at the dry cleaners when you arrive at your destination. I wouldn't recommend it if you are travelling from place to place since that takes time from your trip. And I think that it is too stressful to find such places abroad sometimes. For example, it was difficult for me to find a laundromat in iceland. My hostels and airbnbs had laundry facilities but i think there was only one laundromat in the entire city of Reykjavik. In reykjavik and paris, we had no idea how to work the washer as there was no manual and the settings were numbered. It was all guess work on which setting would do a good job. But the theory of bringing dirty clothes is that you won't have to worry about wrinkles since when you wash and dry your clothes you would be able to put up your clothes to dry or the dry cleaners will press the clothes. In some parts of the world your accommodations may not have dryers so you would have to hang dry your clothes, which means you may not have dry and clean clothes to wear for the next day. So this method is not for the weak of heart. It may work for people on business trips who are staying at hotels with dry cleaning service, since you can bring your dirty dress shirts and have them dry cleaned and pressed at the hotel rather than dry cleaning at home, packing it, arriving with wrinkles and ironing or possibly dry cleaning again.
blue_bird i found the first method that i mentioned in case you are interested. th-cam.com/video/--ZrYtRjYfs/w-d-xo.html . While watching it i thought of using a packing cube as the most interior of the wrap. I'll try it on my next trip to see how it works.
Hi, very interesting video - I am learning a lot. Just to share, you can use Eagle Creek Compression Packs - I was thinking that the whole time I was watching you trying to squeeze your bag (and other luggage in previous videos). :)
Thanks for the video! I also have a Minaal and packing cubes. Travelling this way has been so good! I recommend it for those who haven't tried packing light. It's so freeing to get off a plane and not have to wait for luggage. I remember going to Europe for the first time. When I landed in Abu Dhabi for the layover, my plane friend was shocked I only had that bag. He said he had a second bag half full of shoes! 😂 It made life a lot easier and I felt like I was doing exercise every time I moved from place to place, negating the need for making time to work out. I lost 2kg that trip! 😃
Ha ha!!! +jenmovies You know it! You are a pro traveler too. The feeling is so liberating that once you know it, you don't want to go back to anything else. Good for you !!!
Lol. But you still had to wait with your friend for his checked luggage. I prefer travelling with just a carryon too. It gets harder though as airlines are charging for carryons and reducing sizes. I recently flew on Frontier and was able to fit everything into my backpack(personal bag) to avoid the carryon charge that was about as much as a checked in bag, which I find ridiculous since i am the one carrying the carryon, not an airline employee. Ill happily pay an airline employee to lug around my carryon in the airport to/from the plane.
+rachaelryan00 Thank you so much! So very glad. Enjoy your trip and pack with intention and purpose, Rachael! Take risks by taking less than you need. You'll be so glad you did.
I really like the look (style) of your Patagonia pants, soft, stretchy & lots of pockets. Which style are they? On their website they show all the pants in such dark colors it is hard to really see the details. :-) Thanks! BTW, you had the Scottevest, why did you not utilized any those pockets or are you saving those for pockets for items you will pick up on your trip?:-)
Oh, I am also curious as to which bag you prefer, this one or the eBags motherlode (the black one from your first video). I'm thinking the eBags would be better for my needs, also considering an osprey.
What kind of Baggalini do you have? I see so many that look very similar, but I really like yours. Is it "cross body"? Any more details as to what kind it is?
+Emli M. Vaz-Martinez, I am so very touched by your comment. I'm so glad that you find the videos relaxing and worth watching!!!! Big gratitude and hugs.
I like to see snapshots at the end of your video of what you wore each day ( or more if you had to use 2 outfits in some days) to see how the clothes you brought worked out. Also, would it have worked out if you brought one less yoga or stretchy dark pants ( the cube was quite packed :) ) Like that this included that you eventually had to leave a few things behind because of space. Decisions, decisions.
+Teri SCE Well, that's quite the request ;)! If you follow my Instagram: instagram.com/prolificliving, I post here when I travel. Yes, it would have worked out fine if I had brought less yoga clothes but the dark pants are essential. I hope this helps.
You are adorable! We pack alike- small bags and with the occasional need to stand on the luggage to get the zipper closed. That was an impressive amount of stuff that you got into that bag.
Hello, I love your packing videos. What was the weight of your bag fully packed? I'm searching for a day pack and I cannot decide if I should buy an an osprey, minaal or tortuga bag. I've been waiting for someone to do a youtube packing video of the minaal daily. Please let us know how you liked the bag after your travels. Thanks again.
Hi +M Edwards - so this one would fit the 7 kg limit as it was about 13 pounds. :) I like the Minaal even if it's my first time using it, and I'm almost done with my trip and I LOVE the Minaal even more now. My husband loves the regular Minaal too. I hope this helps.
Is that a futon in your video? Do you know the brand or where you bought it? I've seen them on Wayfair but am hesitant to order something that size online without seeing it. I think I would like one for our new sunroom. Any info would be appreciated, Farnoosh!
+Kay Potter Yes, that is a futon we bought at a modern furniture store here called Ambiente. It's gorgeous. I should use it more often :)!!! No idea on the brand though.
What a great video.. Very informative. I’m walking the Camino again this April. I did it in 2018 and from that experience I’ve written a novel about the Camino called The Catching of the Camino Wind. It is now available @Amazon.com in either paperback or e-book.
I really love your videos; I think it has been so fun to see your journey as someone who does not naturally pack light but being willing to accept the challenge and make this luggage work for you. All of the loose stuff in your baggalini would stress me out; maybe invest in some pouches or use ziplocks? I would LOVE to see you unpack the bag after each trip and talk about what you used and didn't need, what you would do different. Keep making these videos; I can't get enough!
+Laura DiNicola Thank you so much! I took this picture for you when I was in the lounge in Paris two days ago coming home. The ebags is still my favorite: instagram.com/p/BNXsgY-DnbZ/?taken-by=prolificliving
I'll need to think about that video. The real problem with that is when I arrive at destination, I hardly look presentable for video ;)! But I might arrange it after my next trip :)!
Farnoosh Brock This is awesome! I just followed you. I actually bought the mother lode junior on cyber Monday, thanks to you :) I'm off to check out your IG!
I hope you continue to travel because I love your packing videos :) Packing is really an art and I need all the tips I can get! I find myself taking less and less each time I travel.
+six*impossible*things Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Does that make me an artist? ;) Just kidding. Enjoy and glad to hear you are taking less stuff and creating more memories :)!
Thank you +Kanchan Tripathi That fantastic rain jacket is from UniQlo, where I also buy a lot of my tops. It's a Japanese company with locations in Asia and sporadic places in Europe. Hope this helps! 😌😌
Also, in the first video I watched, you did not use packing cubes. You rolled your clothing and seemed to use every bit of space. With the packing cubes, it seemed that there was wasted space. What was your experience with the packing cubes? Did you find them useful in any way?
I have been using packing cubes ever since +Terrie Conley and I love them especially for organization and categorization of clothes. So yes, it is great and you still use every bit of space just in a different way. You can squeeze the packing cubes down to let out air and really get them in each cube nice and snug! I hope this helps.
hey Farnoosh inspired yes looks like an interesting bag, will you show us those clothes on your body especially the vest and pants? also what about snacks for the trip? and no room for shopping! yikes!
Well I showed the ScotteVest Neda, did you see it? And the pants are from Patagonia, very comfortable. Slightly expensive for both but they are totally worth it. I don't take snacks. Maybe a bar just in case. I try to eat very well on the trips though. +heyNeda joon
I have tried numerous times packing cubes and I didn't like them. They may work for some people but it didn't work for me. Not my cup of tea I guess. I roll some clothes that are easier to roll, but some clothes are hard to roll for me. Like a blazer.
I enjoy you and your videos but I think you take too many clothes. When you roll I have found that you can get more packed but because you get more, the bag is heavier. That's a big negative for me. I use packing cubes and they are wonderful as you know. Why not just take 1 set of yoga apparel. What about your travel documents and wallet? It seemed like your carryon and purse are pretty heavy and that's a big negative for me. I take a roller bag and tote bag for carryon. I pack a small purse in my larger bag. Nothing is very heavy and that includes an umbrella and snacks. But please keep the travel videos coming. I like watching you.
Thank you +Jef Carsten. You are right! I could STILL trim it and take less. I'm wrapping up my trip and I know I still brought too much. Next time, Super Radical. Thank you so much for the suggestions and also for the comment. Please share the video if you like it :)!
Farnoosh Brock curious to know, did you end up using the more summery clothes in summer Norway. i wonder if a light, short, sleeveless dress would be better for dressing up since you could layer one of your shirts over/under rather than the dress pants during the day and with a scarf/shawl at night? And you could style the dress differently with what you bring.
+Margaux Ngo You could totally do that too. I was wearing more shorts and pants and the one dress I had on that trip to Norway, and I was happy with everything I took. It was a cool summer so layering became essential. :)
Am i the only one that doesn't bother bringing a brush or a comb when i travel? yes, i wash my below the shoulder length straight hair. My hair doesn't tangle much and i usually end up with it in a ponytail/bun by mid-day.
I watched three of your videos, one after the other. This one looked so difficult for you. I hope you did all your packing again, off camera, and took a bigger bag! And the reason is this: I see the way you hold each piece of clothing, telling why you love it, how it makes you feel to wear it, how the fabric feels to you. You love makeup so you take a rather large bag of it. But if you love it and you use it and you feel good having it with you, you should take it! If you love all your clothes and you wear them all, then take them! I would like to know how you felt taking less. We're you anxious on your trip, or did it free you to enjoy the experience? Please tell us in another video!
+Terrie Conley You're sweet and thoughtful. And right! Yes, I do take things that I love and I honestly did take as much as you see here with the exception of 2 more pieces that my husband carried for me but honestly I didn't need them! I really did enjoy the experience so much. I'll do more videos. Just been traveling oh so much but home now! :)
VERY MUCH AGREE. I'm bring one pair of jeans and one pair of nice quality leggings to last me 25 days in Europe. I'll be washing my clothes occasionally. I was like O.O
RyanAir do, but for example the ever popular Easyjet insist every time that second bag goes inside existing luggage. Flybe the other popular low cost flyer also has a one bag limit. Other carriers vary one way or the other. If you're flying using multiple carriers, of course you'd be adhering to the stringest one, unless you're relying every time on them bending rules. Every time I've flown easyjet (my preferred due to no weight limit), someone has come down the queue, pointing to purses, laptop bag etc, and telling people to put them inside other luggage. One tip I CAN give is that you can simply go to duty free, ask for a free bag, and put the purse inside that. The rules are stupid. :)
Ok!!@Prolificliving Well actually I never missed your videos! Amazing! Thank you again, and thank you for take your time and answer me! You´re so kind!!..
weren't you miserable having all that weight of your suitcase-backpack on your back all the time- thru airports, etc., plus the weight of your laptop bag dragging down one shoulder even more? looks totally miserable to me! I like my system of a roller bag, plus a lightweight backpack, with my small bagalini, cosmetics & medicines, snacks, etc, art supplies.
@@prolificliving --- great, you young healthy people can handle it! When I went to Amsterdam last year, I got a Baggallini messenger bag to use as my around-town bag, & after 3 days of it dragging down the 1 shoulder, I had to go back to the 2 sided backpack --- but I am rather wimpy! I really enjoyed your video nevertheless, & also use the roll method - plus rubber banding them together.
+cynthia Zick You absolutely need to find something that works for you, Cynthia, and take into consideration any body issues when carrying bags. FOR SURE! Young or not so young (I look younger than I am ;)), we all have sensitivities and injuries at times too, so don't be so hard on yourself. I'm SURE you're NOT "wimpy" and you like your luggage a certain way and that's totally fine. All the very best!!!
I was wondering how this bag would work for travel and if it would fit enough clothes for a two week trip. I now have a much better idea how much it fits. Thanks for sharing this video.
+Amie K You are very welcome! Thank you for the kind words. All the best with your trips!
excellent rationalization for picking what goes - and what stays home! And good thing you wear small size clothes.
Hey you got the new Minaal bags! I was waiting for someone to review the Minaal daily and see how much stuff that small bag can take. Thanks.
So glad you enjoyed this Maya. Love it so far but boy is it small for a 10-day trip ;)!
I love your packing videos. I'm going to overseas for eleven days and your video inspired me to try to get everything to fit into a travel backpack, with a large purse/bag. I know I'll feel a lot more free that way.
+Latriise You're going to LOVE the freedom. Enjoy your time overseas!!!
You might try compression cubes.
where can i get the purple handbag you are carrying?
Check out Baggallini brand online.
Have you ever considered using space bags? If you do, please make a video about it, I would love to hear your opinion about it. Thank you!!!
Love your travel videos and your accent! So calming!
I have to tell you that I really really love your videos, I've watched each one of them so many times, they really have helped me tremendously. I'm so happy you made a new video! Your voice is so calming and I love your long videos like these. :)
+AllAboutBraces221, Thank you so much!
I am impressed by how you were able to pack in two small bags for ten days.
You did good. I am searching for ways to pack for a 10 day cruise!
One more question. We cruise a LOT! Any suggestions for easy-to-pack dressy pants?
So many options. I'd go to places like REI or sports clothing stores or check out Prana brands for great clothes like that. +Kay Potter
I love watching you but I don’t understand the need for a small heavy bag instead of a bigger lighter bag also where did you get your pajamas
What about the pockets of the Scottevest? You could have packed the rest of your items in your purse by putting electronics and a few other small items in the vest.
+Nancy Mutzi Totally! I noticed that after the video and just laughed. You are right and I did do that for the trip! ;))

I did saw your other videos and I must say I am so happy you made a new one!You have an amazing and inspiring personality!
Thank you so much! +Alessa Andra So glad you enjoyed the videos.
Welcome to Norway. I think you will need the rain jacket. Love your videos. Thank you!
Thank you - I found a way to bring it. MY HUSBAND"s LUGGAGE :)))!!
Thank you for the video, i really enjoyed it. What rain jacket was that, it was really nice and compact.
Thank you +Kanchan Tripathi That fantastic rain jacket is from UniQlo, where I also buy a lot of my tops. It's a Japanese company with locations in Asia and sporadic places in Europe. Hope this helps! 😌😌
thank you. Would you know what brand it was or what's it called??
Kanchan Tripathi The brand IS UniQlo, same as the store. :)
The brand was Uniqlo +Kanchan Tripathi
What yoga/travel towel do you use? I have been looking for a similar one. Thanks!
Yes, it helps so much. Thank you!
hey Farnoosh inspired yes looks like an interesting bag, will you show us those clothes on your body especially the vest and pants? also what about snacks for the trip? and no room for shopping! yikes!
Well I showed the ScotteVest Neda, did you see it? And the pants are from Patagonia, very comfortable. Slightly expensive for both but they are totally worth it. I don't take snacks. Maybe a bar just in case. I try to eat very well on the trips though. +heyNeda joon
What type of Patagonia pants are those? I looked but was not sure which ones you have.
Jennifer Colson You know, they may not make them anymore. It was a type of sturdy travel pants that I bought in their Boulder, CO store years ago.
Wow, very impressive packing. 😁
I always concerned about traveling and waiting on luggage wheel and losing my belongs
I love your videos
Am i the only one that doesn't bother bringing a brush or a comb when i travel? yes, i wash my below the shoulder length straight hair. My hair doesn't tangle much and i usually end up with it in a ponytail/bun by mid-day.
Too funny. No, my husband doesn't either. He relies on me to do that. Or the hotels to give him a brush. :)
What about your toiletries?
Watch closely. I show my toiletries too +Mary Rivers
Thank you so much for your response!
Terrie Conley z
I feel bad for your computer.
I don't see your way that minimalistic I mean I traveled for two weeks with a 20% of what you have here
+Hareth Nasser Well, we all define our own versions of minimalism, my friend!!!
VERY MUCH AGREE. I'm bring one pair of jeans and one pair of nice quality leggings to last me 25 days in Europe. I'll be washing my clothes occasionally. I was like O.O
lol love this video
Again, you'll find many EU carriers will NOT allow a second luggage bag, even a small purse. I think more research on your part required.
+Belfast Biker I beg to differ. I came back from the heart of Europe and flew on a number of European carriers without a single problem.
AMAZING!!! Thank You Farnoosh! I learned a lot of light packing..! @farnooshbrock
Thank you dear Carol. It's actually @Prolificliving but I don't believe we can tag properly here in TH-cam for some reason!
Ok!!@Prolificliving Well actually I never missed your videos! Amazing! Thank you again, and thank you for take your time and answer me! You´re so kind!!..
Sorry but the comments from Jeff Carsten were really from me, his wife. He packs completely differently from me!
+Jeff Carsten - All good :)! Glad the packing video leads to comments and emotion :))!
To much from every thing, and is heavy ...you have the good things but is all to much...
Thanks for teach !!!
Help a woman who is larger and has bigger, more coverage clothes to pack. She will have fewer clothes.
weren't you miserable having all that weight of your suitcase-backpack on your back all the time- thru airports, etc., plus the weight of your laptop bag dragging down one shoulder even more? looks totally miserable to me! I like my system of a roller bag, plus a lightweight backpack, with my small bagalini, cosmetics & medicines, snacks, etc, art supplies.
cynthia Zick Then you should most definitely stick to roller suitcase and no, I was perfectly fine.
The way you talk in English is bit ..
where is your wallet??
+Satya Pandey, it's inside my red iPhone cover / pocket. I just carried a few credit cards and hubby had my passport. :)
Ok thank you for the tips and ideas! I love your videos!
