Super7 is killing it with this TMNT line. The market seems over saturated with turtles the last few years but these are must own for any TMNT collector.
A bit pricey here in the UK at £60 or upwards per single s7 ultimate figure though. Neca do 2 packs at £60 so most people buy up all the neca turtles stuff here
Great review! I just got my wave 2 today and I'm completely floored! Bebop and Mutagen Man are incredibly impressive. I was expecting Bebop to be big but he is huge and perfectly detailed. Super7 is quickly becoming my favorite toy company.
@@DJ12850 I think the paint apps and the sculpting take it to another level, that people just didn't expect, or we were too distracted by the wave including mutagen man to think too much of Bebop. Either way glad we got this amazing take on Bebop!
Repaint works wonders for this shredder, used that alt head to paint up a movie shredder and on the stock I painted him up to be cartoon shredder. He actually looks pretty great, pity I cant attach a picture here (Was going to post pictures on Fwoosh but seems they only allow certain people to post on that site, I created an account and my first post just sat in limbo waiting for a moderator to approve so I gave up). I ordered an extra just to keep in box as a classic.
These figures are incredible! Just got mine from BBTS this week. I loved the first wave, but Splinter and the Foot Soldier were probably my two least favorite figures from the original Playmates line, so I was significantly less excited about those compared to Baxter and Raph. Wave 2 is stacked, though! Great character picks and huge, insane figures! I can't wait to see what they do next with this line! I need to know who's in wave 5!!!
Super 7 has done a great job with these for the most part but much like Masters of the Universe Classics I decided to stop myself from falling into this rabbit hole because I own the original figs and just dont have the room for bigger versions. I started off getting the NECA movie stuff and had to stop myself there as well. Still, with Super 7, quality product (though I agree the paint deco on Leo's belt is nonsensical). Great review dude!
I want them to do Slash, Wyrm, Antrax, Wingnut, Scumbug, Hothead, Groundchuck, Pizzaface, Fugitoid, Monty Moose, Panda Khan, Usagi Yojimbo, The Rat King, Ray Fillet, Chrome Dome, Shogun Shotae, Scratch and of course Irma!
There's no way they don't get to those (as long as it lasts long enough), I think that List is very similar to most other Turtleheads wishlist for this line!
i picked up leo myself and i love it, i do prefer the vintage headsculpts over the modern one cause to me its like having the old boxart from the vintage toys come alive, plus vintage leo had kind of droopy eyes and the super7 one are nice and aggresive.
This is what I wanted them to do with the Sh Figurearts Turtles I hoped they were going to do a series that included more of the extra characters from the cartoon...however these Turtles are something else scaled up retro Turtles based the OG toy line is a really special must-have IMHO.
Bebops shoes are missing the white shell toe paint. I know the vintage figure had all red but the box art and everything had white shell toes. Ima be so tempted to paint them myself
Excited to get mine in hand. I wish that Drill gun was a little bigger. It looks so wimpy. The Mutagen Man Gun scales up nicely but not the drill. Oh well, it's a nitpick, admittedly.
I love the figures, but I feel like the turtles legs (ralph and leo) are really weak. Bebop's shield doesn't really go in his hands, neither does his gun. The Mutagen man has limited arm movement too. Anyone have similar issues?
THANK YOU for discussing why the silver on Leo's belt was a bad choice. Playmates Leo doesn't have it. Super 7 Raph doesn't have it. Even the Leo prototype didn't have it. These figures are so impressive that I'm still buying 3/4 of them but I'm concerned I'll receive my other pre-orders with mildly disappointing unexpectedly modified details.
@@dkutch8776@Geek. Dad. Life. was this updated? I bought a set of the turtles loose from someone and my Leo doesn’t have that silver on his belt. It definitely was odd looking. Great review.
I think the Super 7 Baxter Stockman and Mutagen Man figures would fit in well with the original TMNT Playmates figures. Those original TMNT figures you got I'm betting were soft heads since it had that Fan Club Flyer insert. I had gotten the entire first wave of TMNT figures, they were soft heads. I believe it was 88, but might have been 89.
I love this mutagen man... Pity the 2012 version of his toy hasn't also been upgraded (well, his late-line green-limbed version), for you could FEEL the penny-pinchers ruining it with cost shortcuts.
The shot of the retro figures and the Super7, excellent!
Yeah, that Bebop is an absolute show stopper. Most impressed I've been with a TMNT figure since the NECA Tokka and Rahzar.

Completely agree, in this over saturated, these shine through!

Same for me, I knew Mutagen Man was going to be impressive, but Bebop absolutely floored me!
yea I was actually shocked at how much of a beast bebop actually was

These look spectacular, thanks for sharing.
Always love your thoughts on this line 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
This line is great. My daughter and I are loving them; she reviewed Wave 1 (finally) on her show this weekend, and our second wave is on its way!
thanks awesome, I'll have to check that out!

Yeah I didn’t think I would like the new sculpts, but in hand I really dig em!
@@GeekDadLife they are for sure a nice option and look the most like the idw comic turtles :)

Totally agree with you!

I didn’t even catch that, all the other details distracted me lol
Really wish they made it so mutagen man could be filled and hold his water that and be able to fit the pieces inside him
Totally agree, but it doesn't detract the figure overall for me, but it would have been a neat feature add.
@@GeekDadLife hopefully they do April as can't find the neca one in the UK at all unless pay some eBay seller 20 times her RRP price lol

Yeah I forgot to mention that in the review, I was so enamored with the figure I forgot to call it out! lol
They should do these figures on the size of the original playmate.
Do you buy extras for moc?
Can’t afford too lol 😂
@@GeekDadLife same 🤣... 😢

I haven't had those issues with the legs myself, but I will agree Bebops weapons are undersized.

Yeah, it's so outta left field I wonder if its a production error. Like maybe they wanted to add an extra wash to it to blend it in more?
@@GeekDadLife I considered that, too. Either way I'm left wondering how Mike and Don's belts are going to look.
@@dkutch8776 No matter how they do it 1 or more are going to be the odd turtle out lol

These are nice Jay. If I was a Turtles collector, I would probably want these. I'm saving my $ for all MOTU and Ghostbusters! ha ha :)
Lol totally get it Allmusic!
This is 4hm unleashed. They were held back by Mattel in the motuc.
Wow those are real nice

If Fed-Ex doesn't bring me mine today.. there will be vengeance taken!!!!
May their delivery be swift!
Bebop does take the WIN for wave 2!
