Just Flight version all the way , cause they put a lot of effort to replicate the old used piper arrow, plus co pilot 😀 👍 Emilia is bonus to talk to while on a long flight ✈️.
Just Flight one, seems more realistic.. Carenado planes all look great but all of their models are a bit one of a kind..
I feel like Carenado has the same flight model for all their planes,
Carendo is pretty, but just by you saying the just flight feels heavier just means the flight model on the just flight is so much closer to real life. A real life arrow is a flying brick especially when idling the engine. Also i cant remeber a piper that had such an aggressive wing drop, the carenado almost looked like a cessna haha. Just flight is the way i think ill be going

Agreed. Stall is much more realistic as is the power settings and performance. Not to mention the cockpit actually looks like 99% of arrows out there.
I flew the PA-44 and its more of a brick. So I can imagine that the single engine version would be a brick to fly too.
I always tell my Cessna buddies that the arrow is literally a flying brick, had my buddy fly with me in the arrow and we decided to practice some emrgency power off approaches, and he is a CFI with 2,000 hours, he was so used to Cessnas and the second he cut the power he was like "oh yeah no way in hell we are gonna make that" lol

Def. Justflight's feels and sounds like the more polished product.
Wow the first time the king of general aviation - Carenado - has gotten a serious competitor with Just Flight starting to make absolute top-notch smaller planes with an insane amount of detail! Incredible work. I also love the idea of having the choice of buying the same type of plane from different DLC developer teams adding a complete different special individual note to their variant of the plane, and not only having the choice of ONE Boeing 747 and only ONE 737 and ONE Cessna 310 and so on available like it was during the FSX era.
But I hope Just Flight will add the "vacuum-cleaned Piper Edition Livery" some day ... this amount of dirt on the floor mat make it look like a barn-find :D

I feel like Carenado is kind of pumping these out fast planning to flesh out the features later which kind of makes all of the Carenado aircraft feel really similar, I really appreciate the detail Just Flight put into the aircraft. Carenado's arrow is pretty for sure, but to me Justflight feels so much more realistic. The Arrow flies like a brick with the throttle at idle, and the heaviness you described fits that to a T. She's a temperamental airplane, but I love flying it and can't wait to try it myself in the sim. Thanks for the great video!

For me, just flight has always been really good. Carenado seems more like an eye candy
I ended up buying both as well. The JF version has personality, whereas the Carenado version is just a single engine Seminole. I plan on getting the JF Turbo version on release since I'll get a discount. Plus, it'll be on par with the Ovation as far as speed.
Your conclusions about the just flight aircraft match closer to the characteristics of the real aircraft. The cockpit view felt more natural too. Love the GPS options which reflect the rental market better.
Great video. I gotta go with my gut on this one and give it to Just Flight. It just looks, sounds and feels more believable than Carenado's model. I will say that I'm impressed with the exterior visuals of Carenado's though. Looks like they did a good job. Just Flight just took it to a higher level. Nice to see this level of aircraft in MSFS. JF PA-28, just may be the first add-on plane I add to MSFS ;)

Been watching conversations on this closely and especially listening to real world pilot opinions which i always value. would have perhaps liked the newer plane but it will be Just Flight for me
No competition really... one looks like a copy and paste from their previous line ups and the other is a highly detailed model of the piper.

@@Fred-rv2tu I don't have the Carenado and probably won't get it, but what about the panel is a letdown? From what I've been able to Google, it looks like a faithful reproduction of the panel in the plane it is modeling. JustFlight is modeling an original Piper Arrow III from around the 1970's while Carenado is modeling one from the 2000's, after the company returned from bankruptcy. I prefer the JustFlight panel for sure, but that's only because I prefer the older style, not because Carenado's isn't accurate.
The Just Flight version is also a bit of a copy from their X-Plane 11 model. But I really like it there so I think I will also get it for MSFS.
@@metaph3r That may be so but it's not a copy/paste from a cockpit that is already in FS2020. That's the difference.
One of my favourite MSFS aircraft is Carenado’s Mooney M20R... so I was tempted to also buy their Arrow III
However, after watching your excellent review I have bought the Just Flight version.

I've been waiting for a video comparing the two, great job. It's a shame Carenado keep re-using certain textures, sounds etc on their aircraft (apart from their excellent Waco). Particularly the "love-making on a squeaky bed" sound whenever you go over a bump, on every single Carenado plane.

Justflight for me takes the best option, the sounds are identical and the heavier feel. I actually like the different gps option that's offered and the fact is a 3 bladed prop. I flew an Arrow II with a 3 blade prop and an STC for the wing, that plane was a beauty.

JustFlight is the one for me based on this review. Wow, so much better, no-brainer really. Flight model, sounds, and interior looked amazing. The Carenado at take-off seemed weird like you noticed, flew differently on approach (needed less throttle when drag was obvious - flaps/gear), and just seems like less time was put into it to get it right.

The JF panel is definitely more accurate for an late ‘70s Arrow III. Although, the autopilot definitely did not have altitude hold. The sound on take off definitely matched better too.
Just a side comment, not sure if you know the gear horn isn’t going off specifically at 15”, there is a micro switch around the letter “e” in the label.
Man I love my carenado PA38 to death but man listen to that engine roar in the just flight model. Sounds is a big big deal to me. I going to have to go with just flight on this battle :) great video man. Very helpful and unbias :)

Great reviews, I have the carenado and don't think the just flight is available on the x box. Many years ago I had lots of add ons from just flight, always excellent. The c130 was amazing.
Nice video...I'm trying to decide which. JF has better sound. I noticed the Arrows have a whistling sound when the gear is down and JF has a little of that. I like how everything work inside even the circuit breaks. Carenado has more realistic looks on the outside, and is less than 50% the cost. Tough choice! Thanks for the video!
Just to clarify the Just Flight PA-28R Arrow III has not yet been release. It is due to be release later in the week quite likely sometime within the next 24 - 42 hours on the Just Flight website price US$44.99. You have been using the Social Media preview release version of the Just Flight PA-28R Arrow III, to compare with the already released Carenado PA-28R Arrow III

I'm amazed how much better JF's cockpit looks. After getting used to DCS, most cockpits in MSFS are pretty disappointing. The JustFlight Arrow looks fabulous.

Just Flight did a really great job. Their Piper feels and looks exactly like the washed-out Piper you get at your local charterer. I'm looking forward to the Warrior II.
Corenado messed up with the placements of the Gen/Fuel pump buttons
I've purchased Carenado products for FS9 and FSX over the years and I've always been satisfied with the quality. So far I've bought everything Carenado has put out for FS2020 but I may go for JF this time. I'm having a problem with the Mooney Ovation where the door appears to be always open on the external view even in flight. If you zoom in two mouse wheel clicks it goes away, but it is SO annoying and takes away from the immersion of flying it. Other than that I love the Mooney. I did contact Carenado and sent screen shots, and although they did investigate the issue they haven't fixed it. However they called it "solved" and it is not. I have no issues at all with any of the other Carenado planes I've purchased. I'm waiting on the Cessna 337 Skymaster and the Piper PA34 Seneca II.
I for one was very relieved to see the i-pad/skypads being able to disappear on both airplanes... as i couldn't stand the thought of it being on all the time whilst flying. A very nice review on both and yes, i'm still in the middle... hahaha, but leaning towards justflight.
If you are still in the middle im sure there will be no wrong decision for you. You will enjoy it either way
The sun visors are not the same in both planes. The Carenado are their usual fully up or fully down. With Just Flight's version you can drag them to the exact position you want and that definitely makes a difference.
Well this is embarrassing. I purchased the JF piper arrow. Rolled onto the numbers, brakes off, flaps 0. (also tried bit of flap), increase speed to T/o speed (have tried a few speed build up variations etc) and each time I gently raise the nose the craft flips over, nose up and over and onto it's back. I wonder if it's trim which I haven't touched, but other than that I'm lost. Are there any tips or there must be a fundamental that I've got just plain wrong. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your review. I don't fly the Arrow, but rather the Archer, so until someone brings out a PA-181 the Arrow will have to do. Interesting re the stall, as the Piper tends more to mush-out, and you would really need to kick in the rudder to make it break like that. The Cessna will snap like that, not the case with the Piper. Looks like the JF will get my money, based on your review. Thanks, and Blue Skies.

I bought the Carenado version and was going to fly it last night but unfortunately no one on Steam could log into MSFS so hopefully tonight but I definitely want Just Flight's version more. Mostly because it looks exactly to the T to the Piper I trained in.
I heard about that steam issue. And thats cool it look like your trainer plane
I feel like Carenado focuses to 90% on modeling, textures and some reflections and lighting.
But they usually fail in sound and especially in simulating the engine and its systems. Just compare any Carenado piston product to any A2A, for example.

The Arrow has probably the best plane audio they've done to date, but I also wish they improved systems on their planes. I'm not a dev, so hard to say what SDK makes possible though, as we haven't seen a single decent turboprop yet.

i don't think it can make tail strike at no speed.
Just bought the Carenado PA28R Arrow, when i get to 68 kts = on takeoff the aircraft rolls uncontrollably left and crashes back onto the runwaay after gaining about 10 feet of altitude. Using Windows 11 and Thrustmaster TCA Airbus yoke..any ideas, all the rest of my single engine aircraft fly perfecctly.
The Carenado cockpit looks like a cut and paste of the Carenado mooney.
Thats how the newer Arrow cockpit looks, im assuming they went with the 2000's to reference and then just flight looks like a 70's model
it's actually more like a cut and paste from the Seminole. Those two are practically identical. But it seems that realistic. A 2000s Seminole and Arrow look very alike in the cockpit. The Mooney cockpit looks quite different in many respects. The Just Flight Arrow has the older cockpit from the 70s and 80s.

Anyone having an issue with the atc with this plane? I find after departure I'm given squawk code and after entering this code the atc stops all communcation with my plane until I land and it starts working again?

Anyone else have issues with the carenado version? When taking off, at rotation speed...i can clearly see the controls in the cockpit, ailerons, etc working fine, however the stupid nose won't lift off! The tail lifts up and nose is stuck on the ground and nothing happens. Anyone have this issue?
Got the P3D version of the Just Flight Arrow and I love it. I'll probably continue in the same vein with MSFS. The external graphics are great with the Carenado product but there are lots of rivet lines missing and let's face it, I'll spend pretty much all my time in the cockpit so while I'm in there, admiring the internal detail and flying the aircraft, the outside could be terrible. If the aircraft flys and sounds as good as the JF product then Carenado might just as well not have bothered
As well as all that, the instrument panel is nowhere as nice to look at in the Carenado version. The JF instrument panel appears to be from a more modern aircraft and looks just gorgeous.

I just bought this on your review, and none of the interior textures show what yours are. In fact they are all blue, and pristine! So where did you get that cockpit livery???
Do you need a special installer for this? I recently purchased the cerenado and download but it's crazy in flight, shuttering when the controls are neutral. It acts like it's overspeed. Or yoke is double programmed or something but I checked everything out. Neat plane but has a ghost in it for me.
Theres no special installer. Could be s a problem the controller you are using
@@BluGames thanks, I'm baffled because the other planes work fine. It's mysterious because the plane shutters but then I look at the ailerons and rudder elevator and they are not moving. I thought my controller was doing it at first too then I thought it was turbulence but I put the weather to calm . I'll keep playing around with it. Could it be a bug since the last update?
Just flight really knocked it out of the park
The Just Flight had issues working with add on hardware when I flew it. It doesn’t like the Propwashsim panels, and it causes some rudder issues whereas the Carenado just worked…

I bought both, try the Carenado once and then delete it, I thought it was on pair with the Mooney, but I was wrong, but the JF Arrow is fantastic, best GA plane in the sim right now.
I've watched so many vids, but none talk about the GNS system on the JustFlight. I know the Garmin in the carenado is the default gns, but is it also the default GNS systems in the JustFlight version?
yes it is the default gns system. thats why no one has talked about it in much detail. cause its mostly the same but there is a gns mod available for msfs. i dont have a link tho so you will have to look it up
From watching your video,I can tell that the JustFlight version is far better. In systems,graphics and flight dynamics. I have about 150 hours of instruction given in thr Arrow IRL and will be picking up the JustFlight

HOW ABOUT CESSNA 152? MFSX OR JUST FLIGHT?
I can tell you both Devs are doing the ol 'recycling'- that ADF and older GPS are straight outta the Warrior/Archer I got for XP11! xD I was hoping to see how the HSI/VOR needles motion is on the JF Arrow (as in smoothness- like it is IRL), cause for god sake this aspect has been horrid on All the planes I've used in MSFS.
I use the vor and hsi on my first pa28 test video. You can try looking there.
I really enjoy the Carrenado PA44 but this PA28 just looks like a lazy copy and paste of the cockpit to me and with the same sounds. I bought the Just Flight one and happy enough but wouldn't have minded an option to have the plane valetted a bit. Also, the GNS530 pop out is incorrect on release as it pops out a GNS430 panel. (To those of us who pop out such things to external displays, it's a bit of an annoyance until it's fixed.)

JF looks like a 1970s model, the Carenado model looks circa 2003
Keep in mind as well the just flight model is from an older rendition of the plane. Three prop version vs carenado is the two prop most modern version of the plane. I’m going to go with just flight on this one though. Wish you would have reviewed accuracy of power management.

@@BluGames yeah it’s rough to do got to get into the flight manuals . Easy way is compare cruise settings to reflected temps and power settings. Make sure the planes gauges reflect what the manuals say they should. At certain power settings. Thanks for your work though. I’ll be going with just flight this time.
I brought the caranado and worked fine had an update now it just gets off the runway and turns into the ground can’t find a fix and no update any help sent email no reply from them brought 3 of there addon aircraft won’t be buying anymore if they don’t reply piss poor support
They should put JF in the marketplace, I like the feature of updating from the sim.

Well the Just Flight Arrow III is still not available in Marketplace as I'm writing this. I went ahead and bought the Carenado Arrow about a week ago and I'm really ok with it. I now have every plane Carenado has offered on MSFS2020, and I'm happy with all of them except for the visual door glitch on the Mooney. It's still not fixed and may never be, but it is still better than most single engine planes on the sim, in my opinion. Anyway, when they finally make the JF Arrow available I may still consider it... unless Carenado releases something else.
Yea idk why they havent added it yet.. but enjoy the carenado version for now

It's the Just Flight Arrow for me. Carenado's texturing is just to to clinically perfect, visually it's not realistic. There are probably plenty of people will like though. As someone said bellow, The dashboard is a copy of the Mooney and the flight characteristics are probably identical also. I wish Justflight had hoovered the grass from the floor a bit before taking the images though.

Carenado is known for pumping out one aircraft after another. Their planes are always looking good, but under the hood it´s standard crap mostly.
They don´t care for realistic systems modeling. And that´s why they are almost the only company who is putting out additional aircraft at the moment. Because for them it doesn´t matter if the SDK is bad. And it is. Otherwise we would already have stuff from A2A, PMDG, Milviz...

CARENADOS piper interior is the exact same as their mooney ovation im no pilot but that doesnt seem right as just flights is completely different
I fly a PA-28-235 Cherokee, and personally the JF is more realistic, basically the same as a real one, that plane has a heavy feeling, when you want to do something you have to add power, is just very realistic! 5 stars

Screw Carenado they have been releasing the same crap for years and always fail to keep their products updated or implement new features into them after release. All you get with them is a fancy coat of paint on a generic aircraft model.
Their business model is just different. Thus for us simmers it is clear with which one we are going with!

With Carenado you get what you pay for. I'm just glad they aren't trying to sell their version for an overpriced fee so $24 is a good price for their version while Just Flight's $44 is a fair price for their version as well.
is it me or all the carenado paywares all seem to have the same cockpit excepted for the waco ?

@@BluGames in x plane , they were knowns for pretty aircraft but nothing else , flight model was weird , sounds even worst , guess they havent changed much , one thing ,tho , the start up sound of the waco sounds great , gotta give that to them
They actually did a reallly good job on the waco
JustFlight just nailed it. Better texture imo, the cockpit old school type is what I like the most, everything is clickable and above all the sound is way better! The engine sound is also way more realistic and typical of the Lycoming IO-360. Again Crapenado not for me...just like for XP11, they will do a bunch of planes with minimum development except visual model. All the rest will be standardized to save time on development and flood the MSFS2020 planes market with their crappy products!

For me both product Is good but flying in the Just Flight is more detail and like a real for flight cross country flight in the Carenado is more for Fun in if you don't care about the little more real details but both product awesone

You might have jour trim binded to an axe of your controller. Try to unbind it to see if the noise is still here. (Your axe might be wobbling ans sending small input to the sim.)
The older JF Arrow probably needs more power due to the engine being bagged over the years...lol
Carenado, as always, have got looks right on point. A gorgeous model. But, as always, that's where it ends. Everything else is kinda generic.
Well if they feel different, one is probably better than the other and I know which one is put my money on
It’s worth noting that Carenado and JF are modeling different year-models (Carenado being newer) so theyre not exactly the same

The dash is so much better on the Just Flight. I just bought it.

Beautiful Duluth Sky Harbor (KDYT)! I thought I was the only one who ever flew MSFS out of there.
Anyway, Vertical Sim has a really nice, inexpensive scenery add-on for KDYT.

Carenado: Same as previous versions. A beautiful plane but not a "complex" one. Mixtures, does nothing, temps, does nothing, DME does not work as it should work (it uses asobo default, while Just Flight has its own).... all those details are present in the Just Flight version. After a few days, once you get use of it shinny exterior, you will grow tired of the simplicity of the Carenado and you will be only fliyin the just flight one.
Hi friend, I noticed you have some sound cracking and popping going on in the video. I'm absolutely not trying to shit on your PC, believe me. I'm just sharing this in case you're interested. I used to have this for about a year and it drove me crazy. I changed the motherboard, changed the power supply, but it didn't fix my problem. The only thing that fixed it for me is going in the BIOS and changing the RAM frequency from 3600MHz down to 3400MHz. I have a 3600MHz set of memory sticks and a CPU that benefits from 3600 RAM, but for some reason, i got this sound popping and cracking whenever I did some simming and video (CPU intensive tasks). So just in case you find it annoying, hope it helped.
