Jan 2023 My 75 year old husband made these steaks for the whole family (following your video), and they were outstanding. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Jo/South Texas
Rachel I've been cooking for over 50 years and I have to say you are my favorite cook of all! Anyone even a "seasoned" cook like myself could learn to cook following your directions you are AWESOME!!! I love how you take your time describing each and every step that's just wonderful for all the new cooks on the block!!! I hope you are comfortable in your new home - no worries about your kitchen - good cooks can cook nearly anywhere😁 God bless you & your hubby in your new Texas home ♥️🙏🏼
You bring the calm in cooking and your vibe is so comforting in these hectic times, we need more of this thank you for being you a wonderful down to earth Angel 😂❤️
I know its late but my gma (94) wanted hamburger steaks, I followed your recipe.........AND ....well what can I say THANK YOU ............she loved it.. so will go into my chronicles....LOL
Rachel, I love that you make everything so clear, so low pressure, and (where appropriate) so flexible. What I love most is that you are kind, and you never talk down to your viewers. You are so patient. You don't use fancy culinary terms and you don't stick up your nose at foods that aren't "gourmet." I'm much older than you are, so I've been cooking much longer than you have, but, although I've only viewed a few of your videos, so far, I have already learned many valuable little tricks and tips from you. Thank you so much!
Lunchroom Rolls and buttery mashed potatoes for the win.......Rachel you are my angel in the Kitchen. I love to watch you cook and hear you go through the process step-by-step.......
Rachel, my husband (BTW is also named Ron 🙂) is a very picky eater. BUT when I tell him the new dish I’ve made is from you, he doesn’t hesitate to eat or ask what’s in it. Haahaahaa. Thank you so much for sharing your culinary talents with us. You have made cooking enjoyable again for me. 😊 Your fan from East Texas. Oh, as a side note: because of you I received a cast iron skillet for Christmas and wear aprons when I cook/bake now.
"Amen Sista... Amen" I had a pound of ground round starting at me this morning... Thank you for sharing this great recipe... EXCELLENT IDEA... I am also going to incorporate this when I RE-Open my Acting Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico (US)... because we will have a "Mystery Dinner Theatre" and I know people that love the taste of steak... but can't chew it... This Smothered Salisbury Steak will be perfect... Thank you so much for sharing this great idea... God Bless
I love Salisbury Steak. I add finely, uniformly diced, green, red and yellow bell peppers. I love Better than Bouillon and use the beef flavored. I was afraid of this recipe for years because I didn't want it to taste like a tv dinner. Well, it doesn't. It is homemade goodness and hearty. Thank you for your videos. I will be trying all of your Mexican dishes, especially the flour and corn tortillas. You explain so thoroughly and clearly. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your Ron. 🌷❤🌼💗🌺❤🌹
Rachel, I swear I have your Salsbury steak on serious rotation! I have made at least 6 batches over the last few months (3lbs at a time) with like 12 or 13 steaks in a bunch and I put them in the freezer for our house and as gifts for friends! We all love them. I also added the chicken and beef Knorr to my cupboard as I always only had the better than brand. We all just love you and your recipes and way of cooking!
Your kitchen, your way, my kitchen, my way, & in my kitchen, there'll NEVER BE ANY CATSUP, OR MUSHROOMS. I always thought you used ground beef for hamburger steaks & cubed steaks for salisbury steaks. Am I wrong? HELP!😵
I made this yesterday for lunch for a very picky eater who dislikes mushrooms and large slices of onions. They loved it and asked when I would make it again, the steaks were perfectly tender without falling apart, with wonderful flavor. I served the steaks with carrots and green beans. Next time I might serve it with a little bit of mashed potatoes because the picky eater loves mashed potatoes and gravy. I will still serve the other two vegetables with it. This seems like a recipe that can be made and then frozen in single servings to be reheated by someone who is disabled and unable to fix complete meals for themselves. So far, every Rachel recipe that I have tried has been a great success among the picky eaters!
Hi Rachel! I love how you cook with the flat wooden spatulas. I've never seen them used till now, and I'm 67! It's like they make cooking easier every time. I have to get some. My daughter adores Salisbury steak and now I can make your delicious recipe for her 😋. Thank you so very much and stay blessed and happy, you and your Ron🌹 💜💞💜
Thank you so much, I can't cook unless I use 2 spoons, it feels like I have my hands in doing the stirring and flipping, I hope you try it...I hope the SALSBURY steak was delicious my friend. ❤
@@rachelcookswithlove Thank you Rachel for your reply. I'm pleasantly surprised! But, on the second thought, it's not surprising because that's just the kind of thoughtful person you are! And that, my friend, is why you're my favorite. 💜 I cook with two spatulas all the time now!!
I made this for my family tonight and they loved it ! I followed your video step by step. You are helping me to be a better cook. By the way can I just say your skin in beautiful.
Hi Rachel, I wish we too were neighbors, I think I love to cook as much as you do! Making your Salisbury Steak recipe tonight!!!!! I also baked off some wonderful rosemary/garlic artisan bread together today to go with! Con PAPAS!!!!!!!!!! Thank you again! George
Fantastic recipe! Thank you, Rachel from someone who never liked Salisbury Steak until I ate this. This will now become a frequent dinner here at our house because "My Melinda" loved it too.😉
Almost like making mini meatloaf lol. Love that she is practices safe meat handling habits. I can't stand touching raw meat. When I make meat loaf, I wrap my hands in plastic wrap or use 2 sandwich bags on my hands. Really love her channel! She makes learning new recipes fun and enjoyable to watch.
Looks great. Just a thought here. Simmer with the lid off, or the steam will thin out the gravy, and add the green onions in right before plating, so they don't overcook and remain a nice bright green.
Nice to watch a relatable cook without long hair flying all over the place and long sleeves without cleavage flaunting your warmth and hospitality shines through thank you
Please do a video on how you make your glazed carrots. They look so yummy! I made your recipe for Salsbury steak and it was the absolute best I've ever made. Your recipes make it look like I know how to cook! Thank you.
My John loves hearty beefy meals on a cold winters night and this one is fantastic. We kept saying, “Mmmmm” with each bite! This is getting a permanent home in my recipe notebook.
Rachel, my husband and I adore you and your cooking! Keep those videos coming, we're fans for sure! Your dishes look so tempting and yummy, thank you for showing everyone love through cooking!!
I want a Rachel cooks with Love apron …I’ve talked so much about cooking with you to my family that they call me Rachel! And they have loved the last 4 recipients I’ve tried of yours…the Salisbury steak will be my 5th dish. I’ve gotten to where I don’t watch any one else because no one compares to you…THANK YOU for bringing new life to my 54 years of cooking for my family!
I just made Rachel's Salisbury steak. It turned out beautifully. I love listening to her talk you through a recipe, her voice is so calming and reassuring. Can't wait for it to cool down so I can try it. Thanks Rachel will keep watching you keep cooking with love.
I’ve never made this before. Could you tell me if the means was cooked all the way through when added to the pan of gravy, or does it need to finish cooking in the gravy?
Thank you for this wonderful, simple, classic American dish. I am teaching my granddaughter to cook using your techniques and recipes. She is half Hispanic so your Mexican dishes make it easy for me to teach her some of the dishes from Mexico that I don’t know how to cook. I love that your recipes are easy, simple and don’t use any crazy ingredients. You are a blessing to me! Please keep them coming.
I not only love your Mexican food recipes but also your American food recipes!!!! It makes me so proud to be Mexican when i watch amazing women like you sharing wonderful Mexican recipes ! Omg Mrs. Rachel that looks wonderful. If I lived with you I'd be 800 pounds lol. I'm going to make that this week. Thank you so much for the video, and best regards to your Ron. Bon appetite
This (and all your recipes) look so delicious and your cooking tips and step-by-step instructions are phenomenal! Eating out has become pretty expensive and disappointing, so thank you for inspiring me to cook more at home! You're simply THE best!
Just found this channel. Mrs.Rachel reminds me of my Grandma Grandma a lot. She does a few things different, but the 2 wooden spatchulas is. Spot on. The big difference ive found is in ground beef dishes, My Grandma Grandma would mix everything up that wasnt the gb then add it to it and mix it. I would love to go live with Mrs.Rachel for a week. I would love to have that 1 on 1. Grandma Grandma tried, but she passed when I was young. (As did both my parents) so I only have little memories of this and that. Mostly self taught. Only found youtube about a year ago. Love that Mrs.Rachel says "My Ron", haha I call my husband the same. (Not Ron, but you know. Haha)
Rachel, I followed your recipe to a T-and it was amazing. The only Salisbury steak I’ve ever had came from a TV dinner! I had dinner guests and was keeping my fingers crossed. It was not only delicious, but mouth watering. Love you….thank you for sharing your talent. Happy Holidays!
I’m making your Salisbury steak today. I made your Mexican casserole last week. It was delicious. I’ve been cooking 58 years and you’ve taught me new stuff and reminded mr what I’ve forgotten . Wished you lived Nextdoor thanks
Made this last night. My husband loved it. The gravy is amazing. Best one I have ever tried. I threw out my other salisbury steak recipes. This one is tops.
Rachel, I cant wait to watch you on the food network channel. Please submit a video, because you would be my favorite show. Your wonderful and I enjoy learning and watching you make delicious dishes.
My father-in-law, who lives with us, spotted this video this morning and wanted me to watch it, too. Guess what we had for dinner?!? What an excellent recipe! Thank you for sharing your love of cooking.
I like your videos because you cook more like me- No nonsense and with simple steps! I've watched four videos on this to see if they are like mine, and you're spot on! I think it's because we're both Westerners. People tend to like the food they're familiar with. Thanks.
I've watched numerous Salbury Steak video's, quite afew i didn't like but your video & recipe are so well done that i think yours will be the recipe that i try. I like the tone of your voice, it's not high pitched, you don't make sounds to draw attention to what you're doing. You're level sounding & not all over the place, very easy to follow & descriptive.
God has blessed you with your gift for cooking and teaching. I love your way of cooking, no fancy pants recipes but eloquently presented and fit for company. Thank you for sharing your gift and stories. We'd all would love to meet your Ron sometime, that would be awesome!!
I made this Salisbury Steak recipe today and it was amazing! Hubby had 2 servings he liked it so much!! I made it with green beans and potatoes from our garden. Delish! Thanks for another winning recipe! 😊
My husband had back surgery on the 4th and is finally getting his appetite back. So, I wanted to fix him something he loves. He’s a “good ole country boy” and I’m a city girl through & through, and he is used to different dishes than I am, including Salisbury Steak. I love to cook and do it a lot, but I’d never made it-I didn’t even know it was made of ground beef! I First good sign: he came upstairs when he smelled the gravy! I’d run out of red potatoes, so I served it with a baked sweet potato, pickled beets (another of his favorites), and hot rolls. He L💓VED your recipe. But he did mention there was an “odd flavor” he wasn’t sure of, and after he tasted the gravy & the meat individually, we figured out the taste was only in the meat. By the process of elimination I determined it was the dry mustard. Even though he clearly liked it, I think I’ll leave the dry mustard out the next time. But it is really an easy, quick, and hearty recipe that is perfect for Fall & Winter. Just an FYI; be sure to have your sides close to being ready before you start this recipe, because this dish is ready to serve very quickly! My hubby and I thank you so much for a new recipe to add to my cooking routine! 💞
Hi! Been thinking 🤔why I enjoy 😉your cooking. Your cooking incorporates what is on our grocery inventory. Onion, garlic, Chiles, in other words everyday ingredients. Pantry Staples. Your cooking personifies a home stead which is not grounded in fancy 😉 ingredients, simply love on a budget. With heart ❤
I have often had a pound of hamburger and not know what to fix for dinner. This recipe looks very simple and I will be trying it soon. Thank you for the idea and the many other recipes that take e back to my childhood.
I made this dish tonight and it was AMAZING! The entire family loved it including my picky 15 yo. She went back for more! Thank you so much for this! BTW. This is the third dish I made from your channel. All winners!
I wish I had you in my kitchen so you could cook for me I love everything you make and I just put it on and I get full up keep cooking I'm from Brooklyn
You are basically "caressing" the ground beef mixture. I wonder how many ground beef meals I ruined because I overworked the meat! I learn so much from you! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this recipe this was one of my dad's favorite recipes to eat and I never learned how and boy is it ever simple thank you and God bless you for all you do for us Sharon J
These are YUMMY! I love this recipe. It’s so tasty and easy. This is by far the best Salisbury Steak recipe ever. Thank you fir your step by step videos.
Hello Miss Rachel, I believe everything I have seen you cook is a winner. Your Ron didn't want mashed potatoes, Poor Boy. MY Miss Sharon and I love Mashed potatoes and have them frequently. Both of us are good cooks. and we like nice brown gravy we use kitchen Bouquet or Brown Gravy Master if the cooking process did not make the juices dark enough for our liking. We both came from families who liked many sauces or gravy dark. Blessings Dear Lady. Rick
I love the way you make the food so tasty and yet easy to cook. That is very important. One cannot spend whole day in the kitchen. Thanks for the videos.
didnt feel like preparing another burg this eve, so this is dinner tonite... wasnt sure what ingredients to use, now i know... looks delish... i sure appreciate the fact that you are teaching the world how easy it can be to prepare delicious meals... would also be nice to learn to sew simple yet useful items (totes, bags, pouches etc) hint hint hint lol tyfs
Rachel made this recipe needed a change of paste for ground sirloin and it was absolutely delicious. I will be adding it to my regular rotation. Please add recipe for the glaze carrots and sides. I would love more recipes for ground beef and chicken as my dinner gets repetitive. My son would really appreciate more variety. Keep up the good work love ALL your videos.
Hi Rachel, You appear to be the sweetest lady. I know first hand, you’re an awesome cook! I made your meatloaf recipe the other night. The best meatloaf I’ve ever eaten! Definitely, now my go to meatloaf recipe. I made a meatloaf sandwich the following day with mayo, mustard, and a slice of cheese on my bun. The best cheeseburger I’ve ever eaten! Thank you for sharing your delicious looking recipes. I’m looking forward to using many more. God Bless You Rachel and your Ronnie as well.
I made this for me and my mom's dinner last night. Excellent recipe and it comes together very easily. I plan on upping the seasoning a bit next time, though. The mushroom-onion gravy was terrific over mashed potatoes. Thanks, Rachel. Another winner. Our previous salisbury steak recipe was also good but is much more complicated and takes longer to make. Still good but yours is better.
That's great to hear, blessings to you and your family and yes everyone likes their seasonings different and that's ok 😊😊You put your seasoning how you think its delicious for you and I'm happy to know I helped 💖💖💖💖
And Rachel delivers yet another delicious recipe! Simple ingredients, easy-to-follow instructions, and amazing flavor. My Joe says it's a keeper! Blessings to you and yours Rachel.
I made this last night for the first time and it was awesome . My husband and I both loved it. So tasty. Thanks for a great recipe. Will definitely be making this again and again.
Looks absolutely delicious as with everything you make. You also walk us through to make the cooking process simple and easy to follow. Thank you Rachael

Thank you Miss Rachel, you have helped me fix so many of my dishes. I have tried to make Salisbury Steak for many years without success. I watched you put this together so simply, I am amazed. The result was a roaring success! And of course, I put love in it!
Hi Rachel! We LOVE your channel and all your great tasting food! You always talk about your "Ron" how about having him do a taste test? We would love to meet him!

This is the best recipe that I have seen for Salisbury Steak and I've checked out 15 recipes. Delicious. Thanks Rachael.
Wow, thank you! ❤️❤️
I like how you're using two cooking spoons for much better control and no spillover of food out of the frying pan. I'm going to try this idea.

You are basically "caressing" the ground beef mixture. I wonder how many ground beef meals I ruined because I overworked the meat! I learn so much from you! Thank you!
Another winner dinner ! I always tell my husband "Compliments of "Rachel cooks with love".

Omg, thank you so much, dinner was a hit tonight! My picky eater loved it, and she doesn't even like to eat meat. 😃👌
Rick
Never tried Salisbury steak will try it. Again you make everything look delicioso!
Thank you so much my friend, it is delicious! I hope you get to try it, thank you for your comment, blessings. ❤

Rachel, so satisfying and you made it look so easy. I will try this and surprise my husband, again! Thanks
