Nothing wrong with hunters or liking movement exotics. But rather than rage quitting, they might get more mileage out of most other exotics and play styles till they develop the skill to abuse the movement and handling bonuses.
There are so many more options that are so much better than "run/jump faster/higher" lol i hate that these minor people that suck make up your perception of every hunter but idk can't change that i suppose.
To me nothing much is better then the movement especially as a console player. From afar I heard Bungie is talking about nerfing stompees. (If that’s the case then all movement exotics should be nerfed) but tbh they over used for what it offers just buff the exotics a bit. So many old exotics that don’t see the light of day for all classes.
@@saynotololi yep stompees are oppressive on console. jump height is king. but i don't really expect cammy to acknowledge the console meta lol, i watch cam expecting nuanced commentary from a knowledgeable mnk player. there are other skilled creators like drewsky to watch if i want to hear a controller player's perspective
I find the most success by using boots of the assembler with Lumina and middle tree well. The reason I do that is because my partners in trials are much better than I am, so I keep them constantly healed and buffed and they slay out. I want to get better at the game so I can help out more in gunfights rather than just be a medic, but I do enjoy being the support player.
Here's the thing with that build, you're not restricted to being *just* a medic as you continue to improve. Practice sniping (or just improve your positioning/aim in general). Then you're tanky, constantly healing and buffing your mates, and picking people off by winning duels or clicking heads. Developing skill doesn't mean you then have to slap on more "skillful" loadouts.
One of my favorite exotics to run on hunter is Dragon’s Shadow. Honestly it just simplifies the game for you. Need to reload? Dodge. Want to move faster? Dodge. Want quickdraw for all your weapons? Dodge. Its not hard to utilize and once you start to really understand how to use it it gets even better. Plus it makes it so mediocre rolls on weapons still feel really good and snappy with the handling bonus so you don’t have to hunt quickdraw and snapshot on everything you run. Honestly just a super solid exotic imo that can really take you places.
Dragon shadow and my time lost fatebringer with kill clip explosive payload and middle tree arc strider got me a 5 kd for my first card of trials this weekend I love it
"Above average" Titan main. I find lots of mileage using Ashen, Fangs, and Rampants I like Ashen for Rumble, specifically on bottom tree. Going into duels with full health and a damage buff is very nice and easy to keep going Fangs for 6v6. You can spam bubbles, negate supers like Silence/Squall, lock down heavy, and shut down supers with supressors. Building into melee for overshield and reload scares enemies. Building into charged with light mods for instant 50% melee energy after a melee kill while charged with light keeps this pretty constant Rampants (with DMT). I can make any lane(s) or quarter of the map my bitch
Good to see some one else use ashen and bottom tree solar. I use it for clean up kills and damage buffs and ability kills. Plus since alot of people especially hunters have low res I can tag some one with a nade and then hit with the melee and even if I die usually the burn from the melee will kill. If I'm trying to burn all abilities for a kill or to take out a weak super. Or I like using the sun spots for ability regen. Especially fun in pve. Plus sun spots are good for advancing and throwing my hammers like doing damage as I go on the hunt. Plus since i rock 90 dis usually and have dual bomber on my mark my grenade up time can be evil
Phoenix cradle are really under appreciated. The longer sun warrior buff is great, plus your teammates benefit from it too. Great in 6v6, and to swap to when you get your super in 3v3, so your teammates can follow your sunspots and put in more damage as the enemy team likely runs from your hammers
As a Hunter main I have never once rage quit. I only tactically exit the game upon realizing I will be continuously bodied by a better player on the opposing team.
When I first started playing crucible, I put radar tuner mods on all of my guns. It really helped gain a good sense of awareness since I couldn’t use knucklehead radar as a warlock.
I'd say I'm fairly average skill level when it comes to crucible, but two of my favorite exotics to run currently are Antaeus wards for titan, for countering silence and squall as well as many other things, and Promethium spur on warlock allows me to be more aggressive when solo and gives my team a lot of extra opportunities in team play with the super rifts, especially with phoenix dive to give that free health boost in tough spots.
As a warlock main, what really helped me start out was actually karnstein armlets, and what's so great about them is I still use them even as a higher skill player now because of the ability to 1v3. Getting a heal on any melee kill is just so powerful.
i feel like what you’re asking for are “training wheel” exotics; good for focusing on a few aspects of gameplay but don’t provide the general meta strength of high tier exotics. i’ll give my thoughts as a titan main on relevant exotics COAL: doesn’t have to be run on bubble, it teaches players to use their barricade more. same with citan’s and khepri’s, even if they are more gimmicky armamentarium: awesome general/neutral exotic, even if it isn’t flashy. it’s just great for people learning grenade placement (and having two lightning/suppressor grenades is kinda schnasty) no backup plans: a shotgun and melee are the strongest gears in the rusty machine that is a titan. kind of crutch-y, but good for learning the ropes of bottom tree striker shotgun acd/0: honestly a good safety net for people learning how to duel at close range, but can enforce bad habits phoenix cradle: kind of a sleeper pick, but great for learning the importance of quick rotation as it makes sun warrior, an incredible buff, last double as long. it’s honestly one of my favorite exotics for a roamer playstyle dunes and lions: incredible “movement” exotics, but in reality shine in aggressive team pushes. sure you can rotate much faster, but you also become a flanking nightmare. with an active playstyle, these teach you the importance of pushing the enemy with your team because competent players will just shotgun you if you flank with no distraction. i will agree that dunemarchers are busted, but bungie is hopefully chopping its mutated buggy leg off soon as for exotics to avoid one eyed mask: encourages over aggressive playstyle at all times, new players will not know when to initiate and will only learn to be either aggressive all the time or passive all the time hoil: incredible exotic, but new players won’t know what to do with their abilities. learning the most meaningful way to use abilities is important antaeus wards: fun and unique, but is too gimmicky. new players will be tempted to slide into bad situations and won’t have the experience to remake their playstyle around the wards peregrine greaves and stand asides: avoid at all costs if you’re seriously trying to improve at crucible
i feel this, i don’t really care about losing games or KD or whatever, i’ll take an L if it’s handed to me lol but if i’m just constantly playing shit i’m switching games 🤷🏻♂️
@@ikygob4521 I feel that. As an above average player, spawning into a match with a couple of blueberries can really hamper the enjoyment of the match. And constantly getting curbstomped can give you the feeling of burnout real fast.
I always stay and provide support so as not to hurt my team. But then again, no need to stress yourself out. Take a break and come back later. It's not healthy to force yourself to continue playing if you're upset
recently ive been finding a lot of enjoyment in playing hunter again (im a warlock main and don't really play much of titan or hunter) with stompee+mida+ikelos smg on middle tree arcstrider or rat king+omnioculus+sniper on top tree tether. its kinda insane how well it shuts down shotgun apes and duels in 1v1 situations.
For a starter exotic, synthoceps for Titans, Wormhusk for Hunters, and Getaway Artist for Warlocks. Synthoceps can help a lot for beginner Titans since the extra melee range is a huge help. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a newer Titan punch the air because they were just slightly too far to reach. The extra range boost will help, but the issue is you don’t want them to become reliant on it. Wormhusk for hunters because it’s basically training wheels. Losing a gunfight? Wormhusk to safety and engage again to get an easy win. Simple to use and simple to take advantage of. Getaway Artists for newer players will help them finish off enemies and help cover for their lack of accuracy. Even small chip damage could be the difference between a kill and a death for them, and the Arc Soul would help them a ton.
Agreed. I'm not even new anymore, but Getaway Artist works wonders when I'm using Le Monarque. Its a very fun build. (Though Stag is definitely a bit better if you're fine camping points with practically nonstop empowering rifts.)
@@roguechlnchllla6564 Le Monarque and Getaway Artists has been my go-to trials load-out for my warlock. It provides so much instantaneous damage, it can pick of a enemy really easily. I use it with a grenade launcher to get people around corners if they survive an arrow
Moderate skill Hunter, above average playtime. I rarely if ever take off Knucklehead, I don’t have the thumbs to confidently contest getting blindsided (which happens constantly, I’ve gotten used to the game basically spawning me into multiple enemy sightlines at this point), but in recommending weapons for a starting player (or curious veteran) I can’t recommend Cerberus enough, especially for CQC work. I’m absolutely serious, got over 15k Crucible kills on mine (not to mention maining it in Trials). Pair it with something long range (bow/pulse/handcannon/scout for those willing to double-primary, snipers for those who snipe, fusions for the midrange threat), and go to town. It’s just a hair less lethal than shotties within 10m, and fairly consistent at double that. 360rpm, and able to 3-tap low resilience guardians with only body shots. Throw in a headshot or two, it’s a really easy 4-tap most of the time. It’s just so many pellets being flung downrange, it’s legitimately hard to completely miss if you can keep the sight even roughly centered on an enemy. My personal favorite thing about it is the unholy damage it deals to Titan barricades, especially with Antibarrier Auto (which is available for all until at least next expansion). If a Titan pops barricade to initiate, or mid-gunfight, I just don’t stop firing, takes maybe half a dozen shots. The unfortunate Titan is usually back to being shredded before they’ve finished loading a round into their shotty. To all who want to experience this kind of casual delight, and cause rampant confusion and frustration for those who don’t know how to unclench from the meta, enjoy..
Man said "above average playtime" then just dropped in the 15k kills on a single weapon... damn bro I been playing since launch and my highest is 2k with the revoker. Though I have had 2 seperate Ace of Spades' get to around 1.5k
@@JakeFish5058 There are some really persistent players out there, man. Most impressive that I’ve personally fought was a Titan using an Ether Doctor with... I think it was right at 100k Crucible kills on it. And, this was BEFORE the reign of 600s, so he’d managed that in less than two years..
One of the best starter exotics would probably be Feedback Fence, it’s so uncommon and so unused that I for one never expect it. Wins every slap fight, and at least in lower brackets that happens very often
I run ophidians exclusively on my warlock. It gives me consistency that I enjoy and can work with. On my hunter I have frostees that can give me ability regen. I'm still trying to find something for my titan. But once I do, it's gonna be glued to her
Crest of Alpha Lupi for titan, many a panic wall has been errected with that exotic. Armamentarium, being able to overwhelm with grenades and it's synergy with Demolitionist is fantastic.
Most top warlocks rock these. They are amazing at just increasing your neutral gunplay and the melee makes it so nice for cleanup from shotties. Its always on my warlock in pvp
Bottom tree Gunslinger with Athrys is basically the best possible loadout for pulse rifles. Faster super, stronger melee with aimbot ricochets, high stability and handling after a crit kill...
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Necrotic Grips. Free damage, keeping enemies low longer if you die or need to pull back, a couple of almost free kills with certain melees. It’s honestly one of the biggest reasons my warlock sees time in the Crucible.
I'm probably a mid-tier player. I usually run Le Monarque and Getaway Artist. Very fun build. You can permanently have the charged arc buddy active with the right mods, which allows you to play fairly aggressively. Going into a rift from bottom-tree stormcaller refreshes your arc buddy's timer instead of replacing it with the basic one. Be warned though, it works vice-versa so you have to have the timings right. Unless I feel like camping in which case I'll use Stag instead. Stag is probably more effective, especially with decent teammates, but camping zones usually isn't as fun as running around the map one-shotting people with a primary from all ranges.
As a Warlock, I say I’m some where around average to slightly above, and I’m addicted to Ophidian Aspect. Original back in Forsaken I used them for the reload buff to help with the Ace of Spades reload, but now I love to absolutely abuse the extended melee range and extra handling for Chaperone and other slugs.
I know you already talked about Young Ahamkara’s in another video, but below-average players can get a lot of mileage out of 1-hit tripmine/knife combos when playing against aggressive players. Locking down approaches is super underrated.
Finally, a fellow YAS main, I find it useful in PvP as well as PvE because of the regen on knife hits or grenade hits. I probably get 30% of my kills with the wombo combo in iron banner because people never expect me to always have a OHK ability that can hit behind walls
The exotic that I find most success with is thorn, I think the dot effect is really forgiving for the TTK and lets me follow the enemy without having too much map knowledge
I enjoy using Mask of the Quiet One, as a pretty average titan player. Getting extra nade energy for sucking, is really funny to me. Also you can synergize it with the fragment that does the same thing on Stasis. If you hate people.
These commentaries where you are able to explain what you believe makes a better player and the ways to do so are where I love the vids the most (though I love every single one). I feel like you are an amazing player and so me having my mental notebook out while watching has helped me a lot while doing 3s or even trials. Keep up the great work!
I've been using Graviton Forfeit all season. Absolutely loving the buff it got. It also helps that I had an absolutely ridiculous roll will stat spikes in mobility recovery and intellect.
"Destiny 2 where people don't want to play the game, unless they're shitting on people" is so true since SBMM, the amount of complaints about having to actually try is insane
I know it’s super meta atm, but I absolutely love using Dragon’s Shadow with my Time Worn Spire that he Iron Grip. I can compete with people at absured ranges due to the stability, and have Dragon’s to help with the slow reload speed due to Iron Grip.
Dude... after watching your videos for literally YEARS and never having commented on them although I always leave a like, I just can't stop myself anymore from saying I'm in love with your brain! How the F... can I even begin to think like you in terms of crucible?! Your knowledge on this game and how to use everything to your advantage is simply mind blowing! How do I find anyone to teach me these samurai ways!?!
Dude Stompees aren't a crutch exotic, they're good because they have a massive skill ceiling. The majority of players don't take full advantage of what Stompees can do. And personally, I just like being able to move around the map quickly.
@@Precipiceofwind Yessir. Stompees don't give you good aim and positioning. A bad player with Stompees loses to a decent one without an exotic. They're very strong but def not a crutch.
@@Mr_Eyes "Dude having double icarus dash does not make it a crutch ability, it's good became it has a massive skill ceiling. The majority of players can't take full advantage of what double icarus dash can do. And personally I like to move around the map quickly."
im a huge fan of liar's handshake as a average player myself but its def harder to make use of against shotguns for me also I love polaris lance a lot in PVP its pretty much cloudstrike the scout rifle and its still quite potent imo
Thank you for the commentary and perspective. The eletism of players that only run speed exotics and meta guns is fatiguing in this game. I love seeing the range both your gameplay and your mentality have in this game. Also, thank you for all the new vids! I hope you are taking care of yourself and enjoying yourself as well.
I'm an average player and mediocre pvper, who occasionally queues into quicklplay and always for Iron Banner regardless of needing loot. Usually play with friends who are MUCH better than I am (they go on tears ir top the board while I break even or go high efficiency.) I like using pulses and fusions, but finding engagement ranges I can survive in is tough in today's maps. I find myself favoring Knucklehead of late because I can keep an eye on a lane or control point so I can callout for much more aggressive teammates for developments. I'm considering trying Foetracer again after seeing very familiar magic in the cornerpeeking power you display with your similarly rolled Messenger. All aside, though, I adore your sportsmanship and attitude, and it does inspire me to overcome my frustration with pvp to improve. Thank you for what you keep doing.
I've been a flawless title since it dropped so I'm definitely above average but nothing special. I just play the game a lot. Duality is my main shotty rn since it pairs perfectly with an aggressive playstyle on behemoth. I run multimach, sacred provenance/messenger or fatebringer with it. My favorite exotics to abuse with behemoth are Antaeus and Heart of Inmost! :)
Never have rage quit yet. No matter what the situation, getting pushed or totally battered by a team when playing with random players, I always just concentrate on playing the game, and enjoying it, winning as much as possible. Keep up the good work mate. All The Best.
I absolutely love using le monarque with shinobu's vow, however recently i've been finding the omnioculus to be a top tier pick as you can keep the weapon handling, mobility recover and resilience of your entire team topped off whilst using the invisibility for radar manipulation.
Cam you spoke to my soul. I'm a Titan Main on Xbox. I have experienced and witnessed several times. I play; Trials, Comp, Etc.....When you manage to drop these guys once they "Bag" you restlessly. Thank you for bringing this up. Whenever, I run into high tier players I take it on the chin.
I myself am a movement abuser and will leave matches if there’s bullshit I can’t be bothered with. If it’s a stale game with no decent players on the other team and they’re just camping with rift and arc souls, I’ll leave. If it’s a 6 stack all running Lorentz and GL’s, I’ll leave. It’s control. Like you said, it’s not a tourney so why care if people leave? If somebody is serious about Crucible they’ll play Comp - this is why I mainly stick to comp and trials.
@@ADUSN ._. doesn't have to be serious to enjoy gamemode such as trials and comp. Take call of duty and halo for example some people just enjoy playing an fps seriously or competitively, it's just fun to be honest. Everyone has their own playstyle ;) I can understand the mindset since I can see the appeal.
@@ADUSN nothing wrong with wanting to get better at a game and play competively and tbh i dont understand the mindset of "its not a competive game". We have a competitive playlist and Trials and theres a very noticeable difference between someone that is good at the game and someone that is not. Just because a game isn't an Esport doesn't mean it can't still be competitve. I feel like a lot of ppl have this mindset where if the game ain't an Esport its not competive and thats silly imo. Bungie does add a lot of really easy cheesy bs tho which I pray they'll stop doing some day cuz all it does it frustrate their PvP playerbase.
@@nicholasgrogan856 its not that people don't like others playing competitively in a sandbox that encourages ability abuse rather than actually skillful gunplay, its that people dont like it when others play competitively in a CASUAL playlist. There's no reason at all to be treating 6v6 control like its comp or Trials, and there's no reason to even treat competitive modes like there's one million dollars on the line for every single match they play. You can play competitively, thats not the issue, its the fact that people get OVER-competitive in a game not even remotely built for that kind of competition and sweat
@@ADUSN agreed, but unfortunately people seem to run only the most broken stuff possible. HCs, shotgun / fusion / snipe, movement exotic, revenant / bottom tree striker / landfall or dawnblade. None of those things are fun to play against, And there’s no way in hell it’s fun to use all the time either.
As an Oath-Monarque main of semi-decent to above average skill, I love using the extra damage ticks to no only delay enemy regen but to track a little around cover
I've had a great deal of fun trading games with you and Cornn. Your Contingency makes me want to put a hole in the wall on Widow's, but otherwise the games against the PvP creators are intense and fun.
Great vid cam would love to see you try out athry's embrace gauntlets an see what kinda builds you would rock dope content as always not the most practical but man satisfying to hit a bouncy knife
This is one of the best videos you ever posted. Excellent advice. I'm a bad player and I almost never use speed boots. I do use Peacekeepers with SMGs, because SMGs are super fun. When I play Hunter, Dragon Shadow and Foetracer are my go tos. I main Titan and Path of the burning steps is also fun. Citan's on 3v3 modes are fun, but yes, people wil aggro it just out of spite it seems. Which is fine, I just need to be aware of it and act accordingly. I think the community and content creators need (I know I'm biased, but statistically I believe there are more bad and average players than really good players so..) more content directed towards them, and not just [ultra-pro-loadout that will make you hit 50 bombs]. Great video Cammy.
Heart of inmost light allows lightning grenades, fusion grenades and magnetic grenades to 1 hit, running that on top tree striker allows you to have an instant kill grenade for every situation
@@yeyosnippz9151 bottom tree has nuts melee game, but if I'm running Juggernaut I'm using Feedbacks or Dunes, I'm not using armamentarium just to do something top tree already does better
I personally really like the dragon's shadow. The handling and reload come in so clutch and I take them over stompees when I'm not running an aerial play style which for me is often especially because I never run shatter dive which enhances an aerial playstyle so much.
I used to be a stompee exclusive player and I’ve been trying out a lot of new stuff that I’ve seen on your channel and it’s honestly been letting me have a lot more fun recently
Mid-tier player here, I've found quite a few exotics on all classes that are definitely underrated by people who cling to movement exotics as the 'best' options. On my Titan Peacekeepers is a really nice option as an alternative to dunemarchers. It really doesn't do anything fancy but in duels your crackhead strafe speed can throw some opponents off, not to mention never needing to click the reload button. As you've shown in past commentaries and uploads crest of alpha Lupi is a great exotic for duels. Get low health, go behind a corner, pop barricade, get information, then either peek or go off to find another fight depending on if the dude has backed off or not. I could definitely be better with this exotic but that's my general though process when using it. Synthoceps. Melee go zoom. Ashen wake is a printer for disrespect, infinite one-shot fusion grenades on middle tree sunbreaker, I've caused a handful of people to leave by feeding them the spicy meatballs. On my hunter I'm quite fond of abusing a handful of exotics. If I want to have GPS coordinates of everyone near me at all times I'll run knucklehead radar on top tree nightstalker. With that I get an enhanced radar at all times and have invisibility always in my back pocket. If I want to be a disrespectful shotgun gremlin I can just throw on bakris. I also typically use it with whisper of chains and shatterdive, rarely get any shatterdive kills but it is what it is. If I want to abuse handling and swap speeds I'll put on a bow and a 120, usually Duke and Subtle calamity as that's what I got. The important parts of each are high(ish) handling on the bow and a draw speed that's as low as possible with the archers tempo just in case I don't feel confident hitting the swap. The exotic I pair this with is Lucky Pants for the handling and accuracy buffs to the 120. if the 120 you use has opening shot that can make it even better. On my warlock I mainly use ophidian aspects for the reload and handling on my weapons. My loadout with this exotic really does shift around as the map dictates which is why I like ophidian aspect, As I don't have any specific builds made on my warlock for PVP having a nice generic workhorse exotic to give me passive bonuses in duels is quite valuable to me. Damn I typed up a lot. Edit: I made this before fully watching the video, and now I have this forever cemented as an old way of thinking now that I'm hearing and learning from the rest of the video.
If you feel like using a super aggressive style, you can use wormhusk on trapper for invis+healing dodges. Even more if you use marksman dodge and 100 mobility and perseverance? Persistence? Whatever the void class mod is for it. You get these absurdly fast dodges that just give you a ‘get out of jail free’ card on anything, or even during a fight in cover for a health boost if you came in with low health or they hit you with le monarque or a sniper. And you have the smoke bombs that show up on radar, which can definitely confuse people and can be used with invisibility dodges to sneak up on someone with a shotgun or a fusion. The invisibility can also be used to reposition yourself, even during a fight since the invis can definitely make people miss or not shoot even if you step into line of sight, just because they might not be expecting it. TL;DR: wormhusk is still a great exotic, and trapper makes it even better for getting out of a fight. (Even for above-average players who just want another chance at winning a gunfight)
Since Arrivals I've been running Bombardiers on my hunter with a pulse and lightweight smg. Even before the respective buff and nerf it would do work putting a damper on apes of all kinds but especially shotgun apes. Between swarm grenades/tripmines, prox knife and the dodge grenade shotgunners would learn real quick not to pursue me, or trade at absolute best. Recently though a friend turned me onto Young Ahamkara's Spine and I've been slowly accumulating the specialized map knowledge to take proper advantage of it.
I’ve been trying out Hunter recently and I’ve been trying bottom tree gunslinger pared with the bombardiers and it’s been fun, blocking off door ways killing shot gun rushers with a simple explosive knife and a dodge. It’s been cool being able to peak through a door way while also dropping a distracting bomb in front of it after dodging. It has a lot of application in controlling a map in pvp. Forcing enemy’s to a location more favorable and punishing those who try to push through the barrier. Hope that made sense and if you’ve read this much thank you and I hope y’all have a good day!
I use transversives alot in PvP not because I see them as the best option, but simply because it's just an easy slap on exotic with any class and any build (except hawkmoon lmao) and unironically the reload from sprint is great. I usually wont use them though when I have a build in mind, like empowering rift lunafactions or astrocyte with blink. Sure I might get more out of something else, or I can put on transversives and click on quickplay
i like your approach to 6s a lot,not a care in the world, using amazing build crafting combined with god tier plays,i used to sweat it out in 6s but the more i play like that, the more i dont enjoy 6s,and it stopped me playing 6s for 1 season cuz everyone is slugging it out like its a LoL or Ti finals, ive been embracing more and more build crafting in what i think is good, and just enjoy myself..thnx for being the chillest and a huge inspiration for my own self
Thank you for talking bout this. The amount of BASIC stommpe hunters I see it is boring and predictable to me when I see hunters using other exotics I don't get mad that I lose cuz I'm not used to seeing them. I have a hunter and I use other exotics, make a build either to help my team or myself. My Titan is my support character and my warlock is all rounded. Everytime I play d2 hunters I play with complain that they don't have good exotics, I talk about the builds that exist and their response is "when will that ever happen"....idk players exist in their own heads I guess
I'm a casual player and I totally agree with you by saying "I don't want to see those egos, like the bagging, taunting, hatemailing...You can be a gracious winner and a gracious loser, no matter what you use...". There are so many players out there bagging or haunting for those steam profiles of the specific players they matched against with, just to write some weird comments(Instead of a solid 'gg' it can go from ez bxxx up to you hopeless fxxx etc.). As someone who doesn't tolerate that and wants clean games, hearing from a pvper like you mentioning these is just amazing. Thank you for the content and tips as always :)
This might sounds way too original, but I get the most mileage out of Dunes, but more specifically on middle tree Striker in 3v3 matches. The Ballistic Slam with Linear Actuators allows me to flank enemies and soften up the entire group to make for easy clean-up shots for my team. I also feel that Dune’s speed buff allows me to close the distance on special ammo on the ground a little bit faster to activate Inertia Override to help teammates out with extra damage when team shooting.
I think grenade focused exotics are great to help players improve because making effective use of nades is super important in Trials. So Armamentarium, Heart of Inmost Light, Young Ahamkara's Spine, Shinobu's, Nothing Manacles, all great. Land them nades!
Cammy you are the one who made me open my eyes to other play styles with the hunter. I used to just run Stompees but decided "No, I can do better" so I mostly run raiju's harness now. Sadly I do combine it with stompees for the movement in trials but anytime i super I can get 50% of it back when I die in super with raijus on so it helps a lot. I need to expand my variety more though.
I've found extreme forgiveness running max resilience and recov as a defender titan with Icefall and double ability kickstart on my mark. Going into literally every single engagement with an overshield every ~7 seconds is just so comfy, and allows you to challenge all sorts of inopportune matchups. The icefall overshield, despite being very weak and essentially immobilizing you, also basically removes your opponent's first shot, which is such a massive boon in any duel.
As a warlock main dabbling in hunter more lately. I must say THANK YOU.l The shinobu vow / monarch (my favourite pvp weapon) build just took me solo flawless.
I used to main Hunter. I loved using bottom tree Arcstrider with Shinobou’s Vow. Now I’m a Warlock main. Sunbracers and Nothing Manacles are 2 of my favorite exotics of Warlock. Pairing Sunbracers with the Top Tree Dawn. Pairing the Nothing Manacles with max Discipline on Devour leads to some fun times
I will say I've been running Dunemarchers since Forsaken because I liked the way they looked, and the movement helped pull up my game later on. I really dislike backing out of games and very rarely do it, and I also really dislike people who back out of games. While I've been working to get my KD up my mindset has always been, if I get dunked on one match, I'll just play harder the next one.
As a hunter main I was a passive aggressive player who typically went for flanks or scout the enemy team rather than meeting them head on so what i used was wormhusk crown or Geminis depending on how the team fought I used Gemini if the team was a close quarters team and worm husk if they were spread and long range my builds for the most part center around hurting the enemy and letting my teammates clean them up
Young Ahamkara's Spine is a go-to favorite of mine that can really shore up gunfights that I often otherwise lose. Success depends somewhat on the map since hallways and walls are the best place to easily catch people, but even a floor stick can really mess up a shotgun-rusher's day if they're just straight-lining you. The tripmine also helps with cleanups on longer-range fights that I couldn't quite secure since I'm not always hitting my perfect TTKs or people just nope out of a scout/pulse/bow fight they think they might lose. Toss a tripmine there and most of the time they're not far from the corner.
I loved that he mentioned Le Monarque I play it with eye of another world empowering rift spam, middle tree dawn for all the juicy one shots and I can be overshielded constant with double grenade kickstart and double bomber
I'm a 1.8ish Warlock Before I play my three games of control a week I put on my Ophidian Aspects, The Messenger, and A Sudden Death. I've been doing well with this loadout this season.
Big huge fat tip cammy. You can stow ace after a kill and requip it a second later reload and still get Momento Mori active. For them quick shotgun swaps to take out someone close after killing someone mid range with ace. Bet ALOT of people don't know this.
i’m really liking worm husk crown but i believe the stompee hunters who leave games would still leave if they were running any other exotic so i don’t think that’s the issue personally at least. some people just don’t like being stream rolled and that just happens to be a popular exotic so that’s prob why you’re seeing so many stompee hunters in particular quit. if something like knucklehead was more popular and they wore that they’d still prob quit after getting rolled
Nothing wrong with hunters or liking movement exotics.
But rather than rage quitting, they might get more mileage out of most other exotics and play styles till they develop the skill to abuse the movement and handling bonuses.
Cammy, imma need you to stop making so much fucking sense

I love this loadout, I wonder if the ability kickstart works with it for rift spamming tho
I run a similar support build like this in trials with a snipe. It works with my clan when we do trials or hop into casual pvp.
@@Sturm_and_DrangKickstart works, not super necessary because of benevolent dawn though.
@@Sturm_and_Drang It does. I run double Utility Kickstart and it's crazy.
Put it on for trials last weekend and it changed my life, 120s with that reload are insane
+1 !
running the dragons with low handling max range weapons feels awesome ex cammys loadout here
Dragon shadow and my time lost fatebringer with kill clip explosive payload and middle tree arc strider got me a 5 kd for my first card of trials this weekend I love it
what about dodging and removing an enemy arc titan shotgun ape's radar so you kill them and tbag them so they stop using shotguns only
"Above average" Titan main. I find lots of mileage using Ashen, Fangs, and Rampants
I like Ashen for Rumble, specifically on bottom tree. Going into duels with full health and a damage buff is very nice and easy to keep going
Fangs for 6v6. You can spam bubbles, negate supers like Silence/Squall, lock down heavy, and shut down supers with supressors. Building into melee for overshield and reload scares enemies. Building into charged with light mods for instant 50% melee energy after a melee kill while charged with light keeps this pretty constant
Rampants (with DMT).
I’ve played you and if you’re “above average” I must be panduh
LAUGHS IN ICEFALL MANTLE
That's what I'm talking about
We found the one titan not on dunes and bottom tree smash
Another niche combination is Khepris Horn with bottom tree sunbreaker, just adds another form of lethality for your ability kit.
I ran Phoenix Cradle with malfeasance in iron banner for a while in arrivals. That 10 second window to three tap feels great.
As a Hunter main I have never once rage quit. I only tactically exit the game upon realizing I will be continuously bodied by a better player on the opposing team.
As a Hunter main who hasn’t played the game in a while, I second this motion.
As a hunter main i can back this up
As a former hunter main I can agree
Tell yourself whatever u need to
Hunter main here. Uh, skill issue + 💀
Yes a fellow antaeus wards user
As a warlock main, what really helped me start out was actually karnstein armlets, and what's so great about them is I still use them even as a higher skill player now because of the ability to 1v3. Getting a heal on any melee kill is just so powerful.
A good warlock with karnsteins is pretty scary because the ability to chain duels together if they get that health regen rolling
Facts bro karnsteins are a staple in my inventory
There was a time I never took them off.
A slug and karnstiens can kill an entire team, just keep body shot meleeing
@@Mountaintop69420 yeah a slug or a sniper is my favorite thing to run with them for that reason, I have so many 1v3 trials clips.
i feel like what you’re asking for are “training wheel” exotics; good for focusing on a few aspects of gameplay but don’t provide the general meta strength of high tier exotics. i’ll give my thoughts as a titan main on relevant exotics
COAL: doesn’t have to be run on bubble, it teaches players to use their barricade more. same with citan’s and khepri’s, even if they are more gimmicky
armamentarium: awesome general/neutral exotic, even if it isn’t flashy. it’s just great for people learning grenade placement (and having two lightning/suppressor grenades is kinda schnasty)
no backup plans: a shotgun and melee are the strongest gears in the rusty machine that is a titan. kind of crutch-y, but good for learning the ropes of bottom tree striker shotgun
acd/0: honestly a good safety net for people learning how to duel at close range, but can enforce bad habits
phoenix cradle: kind of a sleeper pick, but great for learning the importance of quick rotation as it makes sun warrior, an incredible buff, last double as long. it’s honestly one of my favorite exotics for a roamer playstyle
dunes and lions: incredible “movement” exotics, but in reality shine in aggressive team pushes. sure you can rotate much faster, but you also become a flanking nightmare. with an active playstyle, these teach you the importance of pushing the enemy with your team because competent players will just shotgun you if you flank with no distraction. i will agree that dunemarchers are busted, but bungie is hopefully chopping its mutated buggy leg off soon
as for exotics to avoid
one eyed mask: encourages over aggressive playstyle at all times, new players will not know when to initiate and will only learn to be either aggressive all the time or passive all the time
hoil: incredible exotic, but new players won’t know what to do with their abilities. learning the most meaningful way to use abilities is important
antaeus wards: fun and unique, but is too gimmicky. new players will be tempted to slide into bad situations and won’t have the experience to remake their playstyle around the wards
peregrine greaves and stand asides: avoid at all costs if you’re seriously trying to improve at crucible
these consistent uploads have been absolute fire

Agreed. Love the commentary. I can’t do twitch streams most of the time so these are great.
Cammy. I also had respect for you. You literally helped me craft my playstyle and to always think outside the Meta Cubicle.
I'll typically stay even if I'm losing but if I'm having an especially bad day.. I'm not gonna stay in the match and mostly likely going to get off.
i feel this, i don’t really care about losing games or KD or whatever, i’ll take an L if it’s handed to me lol but if i’m just constantly playing shit i’m switching games 🤷🏻♂️
@@ikygob4521 I feel that. As an above average player, spawning into a match with a couple of blueberries can really hamper the enjoyment of the match. And constantly getting curbstomped can give you the feeling of burnout real fast.
same. i only quit if im really frustrated with the game at that point, or if its a 6 stack and my teammates are braindead lol.
@@AodinValar honestly yeah. I do like dabbling with other exotics but I just feel so gimped without them since most of my builds rely on melee
Agreed. I'm not even new anymore, but Getaway Artist works wonders when I'm using Le Monarque. Its a very fun build. (Though Stag is definitely a bit better if you're fine camping points with practically nonstop empowering rifts.)
Have you ever tried wormhusk with le monarque on blade barrage? The burn from monarque recharges your dodge and it’s pretty good imo
@@roguechlnchllla6564 Le Monarque and Getaway Artists has been my go-to trials load-out for my warlock. It provides so much instantaneous damage, it can pick of a enemy really easily. I use it with a grenade launcher to get people around corners if they survive an arrow
Necrotic grips on bottom tree Dawn is usually my go to in PvP but ill use something else if I match anyone with a heal or a brain
Ran into a guy in freelance trials last night rocking the gun. Caught me off guard big time, was not ready for that smoke.
I need to try this

Ophidian aspect hardly ever comes off my warlock in any activity absolute god tier exotic!

Isn't wraith better with messenger? High impact frames get accuracy when crouched and desperado and flawless execution both need precision kills.

Big fan of the combination of "Absentminded genius professor" and "Combat vet" energy in this energy.
Le monarque pairs very nicely with shinobu's vow on the hunter, I use it in slower modes like trials, get a headshot and skip them behind a wall
He said it in the vid after I commented, my b
Ohhh yeah stag emp rift ark souls and le monarch has got to be REDICULUS

I probably get 30% of my kills with the wombo combo in iron banner because people never expect me to always have a OHK ability that can hit behind walls
this is my favorite for hunter for sure.
The exotic that I find most success with is thorn, I think the dot effect is really forgiving for the TTK and lets me follow the enemy without having too much map knowledge
In addition: this gun looks and feels so incredibly good ^^
I enjoy using Mask of the Quiet One, as a pretty average titan player. Getting extra nade energy for sucking, is really funny to me. Also you can synergize it with the fragment that does the same thing on Stasis. If you hate people.

Young ahamkara’s spine with top tree and shinobu’s vow with wishender with shayura’s wrath are some of the loadouts I find fun.

I absolutely love using le monarque with shinobu's vow, however recently i've been finding the omnioculus to be a top tier pick as you can keep the weapon handling, mobility recover and resilience of your entire team topped off whilst using the invisibility for radar manipulation.

Peacekeepers + Any SMG = Win
Video uploads have been awesome Cammy! Keep it up!
God I love seeing really good gameplay with something that’s isn’t a stompies hunter (not that it’s bad because popular) but it’s very refreshing
i like your approach to 6s a lot,not a care in the world, using amazing build crafting combined with god tier plays,i used to sweat it out in 6s but the more i play like that, the more i dont enjoy 6s,and it stopped me playing 6s for 1 season cuz everyone is slugging it out like its a LoL or Ti finals, ive been embracing more and more build crafting in what i think is good, and just enjoy myself..thnx for being the chillest and a huge inspiration for my own self
This was very eye opening, honestly. Thank you.
titans : shoulder
warlocks : ANY rift
hunter : we got roll...
Love the commentary. I can’t do twitch streams most of the time so these are great
I'm a casual player and I totally agree with you by saying "I don't want to see those egos, like the bagging, taunting, hatemailing...You can be a gracious winner and a gracious loser, no matter what you use...".
In depth cammy is best cammy , learned a lot with this one ,
I think grenade focused exotics are great to help players improve because making effective use of nades is super important in Trials.
The icefall overshield, despite being very weak and essentially immobilizing you, also basically removes your opponent's first shot, which is such a massive boon in any duel.
whenever i play on my warlock i love running transversive steps because i can just zoom around really fast
I don’t really watch twitch but I love this kinda video/commentary!
As a warlock main dabbling in hunter more lately. I must say THANK YOU.l
The shinobu vow / monarch (my favourite pvp weapon) build just took me solo flawless.
As a hunter main I was a passive aggressive player who typically went for flanks or scout the enemy team rather than meeting them head on so what i used was wormhusk crown or Geminis depending on how the team fought I used Gemini if the team was a close quarters team and worm husk if they were spread and long range my builds for the most part center around hurting the enemy and letting my teammates clean them up
A smart and articulate player thinking out loud is always welcome in my book.
I am definitely low skill btw
god i miss pre nerf desperado
Great stuff, Cammy! Loved the commentary - can't make your Twitch streams. Thanks for sharing your wisdom 😊
enjoying these longer videos
I'm a 1.8ish Warlock
Before I play my three games of control a week I put on my Ophidian Aspects, The Messenger, and A Sudden Death.
