For all these years we've been lead to believe you can't make a suitable playing and sounding intrument for very affordable money , kudos to HB for letting the cat out of the bag. I have 3, an I'm still smiling. I own several name brand guitars as well purchased over the last 35 years and these guitars bring a notion to me that a less transparent practice of guitar retailing back then was the norm.
I took a chance a few months ago and bought one of these (with pick-ups) after reading about them somewhere. I was (and am still) gobsmacked at what I got for under £100! The carry bag alone would probably cost you £40 if you bought it separately!!!! Since then, I've bought two more HB electric guitars and found them - bang for bucks - to be great and very playable. Their TE-40 TBK Deluxe (Telecaster) Series is right out of the box an unbelievably playable guitar for £118! Well done on the video and thanks for posting.
I just got this guitar delivered to me in India and wow.... the quality is very good! Thomann really sweetened an already great deal by adding such a cool gig bag. I got mine for 135 euros including shipping.
Hello! I am also from India and planning to purchase guitar from thomann but i want to know about the shipping and custom duties. Please reply if you see my comment bro!
Maybe little bit less compression will bring more body to sound. And I have a lot of guitars, from few thousand € to a few hundred (Harley Benton) and almost all Harley Benton guitars are compatible with lot of K cost guitars. No need to called them a Copy. When you buy Suhr (Strat model) you won't say: it's a copy of Fender Stratocaster just because it looks the same 🙂🙂
Hi. Would you recommend Yamaha apxt2 or this HB one? For traveling, couch playing? Is the lenght between frets and strings the same on both guitar, or is Yamaha more narrow? Thank you for answer and review 😉.
I first bought the H.b for my son to learn guutar..now he owns the Taylor....no match...the Taylor is far better and its price is logical. But you play very well indeed..
Just got mine today. Simply stunning! and it sounds great! One question, once you connect the 9 volt battery, does it just flop around in the sound cavity or does it attach somewhere within?
Just ordered a left handed one with pickup tonight. My grandson ordered a 7 string electric also, this way we were able to share the shipping cost. This will be the second Harley Benton for each of us.
@@BrentHutchinson Grandson (age 13) ordered the Harley Benton R-457MN WH Progressive Series. This will be his 13th guitar, and first 7 string. He is a rocker! Spends all his birthday, Christmas and lawn mowing money on guitars! At least he is easy to shop for! LOL!
Do you perhaps know the weight of the guitar? I need to find out for a flight to bring it to me. Great guitar and don't want to buy another one. Would be much appreciated. Including the bag, I think.

I know I'm not Brent, but, I can't stop saying enough about the Harley Benton's I have! I purchased a Harley Benton HBO 850 steel string in January of 2019. I'm really cheap, so I got a B stock for $75.00 USD with a $18.00 gig bag. It is an amazing deal even at full price. I love this guitar and play it all of the time. I played some Ovations years ago and loved them. I think this is pretty close to the Celebrity line, but can't gaurentee it. At any rate, I'm impressed with the quality for the money. It sounds amazing and plays great. I will probably lower the action a little, but, that is personal preference. I read some reviews regarding the frets not being properly finished. Mine are perfect. It said, on the box, I received that mine was a floor model. I guess that is why is is a B stock. The good thing about a floor model is that you know it will be set up pretty good. I have no regrets about the purchase. I own five Harley Benton's and love them all! Good luck.
@@overthehillcheapgearnoodle9990 Thank you very much :) I currently own a Harley Benton as wel and I love it, especially for thr price. The electruc guitar I ordered is also a Harley Benton. I really really love Thomann for that!
I just bought the pickup version for 129 € and Thomann even gave me a 15 € refund because of a small dent in the binding which does not bother me at all. I invested 20 € extra for a TUSQ nut and a TUSQ saddle at the bridge, now it’s an even greater performing instrument.

You can't argue with the price. Not bad at all. A little boxy and twangy on the chords, has that dissonance afterburn even on the major chords tho. Still, great for around the house but I wouldn't play it in public tbh
@@BrentHutchinson Oh cool! I was gonna get one anyway (i see they do a spruce version as well, I'm undecided which to go with) and your review settles it. Great vid, thanks for taking the time to make it! I still can't believe the price...!
You are a very entertaining player Brent, I like to watch your videos. If you ever perform in Belgium I would like to come to the concert! I see you also played the Yamaha travel guitar, and you play the same song there, still it is hard to judge the sound over youtube. Do you think the mahogany has a softer sound? I currently have a takamine with a cedar top, but would like to have a smaller guitar to take to classes with a built in tuner. I do not like this "singer-songwriter-strummer-spruce-sound" if you know what I mean :D I only play travis-picking type of songs, not sure if that makes a difference

Ya que te veo que tienes una yamaha apx t 2 y la Harley Benton que nos enseñas hoy, que guitarra comprarías si no tuvieras ninguna acústica como es mi caso, la voy a utilizar, básicamente en casa. Looks similar to the Adam Black travel guitar I bought myself last year - except that comes in at more expensive even *without* a pickup. Wonder if there's a quality difference to justify the higher price (doubt it).
This is the perfect guitar for a Hi6 setup. Tripping over myself to order 1 maybe 2 now. Go electric and upgrade easy as. Is the neck bolted to the body under the fretboard like the Taylor's?
@@BrentHutchinson yea that's awesome news. Once played a small mahogany Taylor that was setup hi6 @ 9-26(?) and in an ensemble it just sang like a bell bird.
