I Love it! This bike is the beginning of automatic bikes in the modern era. The DCT transmission falls in line with all the other safety features like the Quick Shifter, Slipper Clutch, Traction Control and ABS. Just like the automatic transmission in cars made cars easier and safer to drive the DCT will make bikes easier and safer to ride.
Honda sure bet the farm on it (and lost). All of their original crossover models that were introduced with DCT are now no more. I am surprised Honda still offers any bikes at all with the DCT option considering its general unpopularity. If it was truely the future then other manufacturers would offer full lineups by now but that definitely is not the case. I believe true motorcycle enthusiasts, and certainly purists, will always prefer standard transmission.
You completely forgot about the 5th gen in your history. Acclaimed by many to be the best bike ever made. Even by non fanboys it's the true antecedent of ur bike

Interesting. I'll picking one of these up this week and have owned a 2001 Blackbird for about 5 years. We'll see! I'll say this, I wouldn't have bought this bike new when it came out to replace my Blackbird, but then again, I have no interest in buying any bike new, like ever. Way too much money for what's really just a toy.
@@dbehr27 I'm doing the same. I'v had two Blackbirds. I'v had a break from riding for 12 month and getting back in the saddle by Picking up a VFR1200 This weekend. They seem to offer great value on the used market. Like you I wont buy new vehicles.
