Bruce is 100% correct on his assesment regarding December 2. The first show on KISS Kruise 7 with Bob, Todd and Brent might have been the turning point in the recent non-make up re-appreciation, mixed with "Bob's songs". It was a stellar performance with a perfect setlist!
Great interview Mike! Nice to see Bruce be so comfortable and candid with you! Bruce is a tremendous talent with a genuine soul. Looking forward to his future plans! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Revenge and Alive 3 were classic. Bruce killed it on that album and tour. That tour was the best one of the bunch. They really celebrated the catalogue.
Bruce was the guitarist when I got into KISS as a kid in the mid-80s. I loved the "Smashes, Trashes and Hits" compilation and eventually skipped most of the 70s tracks because for me as a 12-year-old, they sounded "outdated". To me - Kiss began in the 80s. I watched MTV Unplugged when it aired here in Germany and was blown away by the band. Then, when I got to see KISS live for the first time in 1996 in Hamburg, I guess I was one of the few being disappointed that no 80s tracks were played and I missed Bruce on guitar because he is one of my guitar heroes. After seeing the original four in make-up, I started buying and appreciating the 70s albums and dig Ace's licks - but to me, I will always prefer "Sword and Stone" over many of KISS' 70s tracks. It also makes me very sad that Eric Carr's song "Nightmare" has never been recorded properly. I absolutely love what Bruce does on that song. The first 20 seconds give me goosebumps because there is so much feeling and passion in his playing. To me, this track is the most underrated KISS-related tracks. A big thank you to Bruce for contributing to the soundtrack of my life and it impressed me how humble and nice he was in the interview. What a great guy and musician!
Thanks Mike this was a terrific interview with Bruce who has the skill set to say truthful things without throwing anyone under the bus. I still cannot believe he is 70 though. Hope he writes that book because he has such a different view of the band that I think we would love to know about.
Paul and Gene invited him to be with them in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Bruce said, it meant the world to him! I wish now he could be more humble and thankful 🙏
Bruce is the only ex-member who still cares about the music, not just the money and the drama and coming up with new absurd fan cashgrab ideas like $6000 to record a karaoke version of RNRAN with Gene. When he does a book it will actually talk about the songs, something the other guys’ books barely even touched on.
Bruce they didn't play Crazy Nights last year in the UK and man it was missed - the fans go insane for that song here. You'd have thought with 6 (one show was cancelled) UK shows out of 50 it would have been put in but it is what it is!
I'd love to see Bruce take his Kruise band out for random shows. I'd totally go. Keep it limited to his era and include songs his brother played on. I hate that Ace keeps Love Gun in his set. I wish Ace would just focus on his songs like Bruce has done. Mike that gold certified album for Creatures really ties the room together.
Its pretty crazy that hes been with Grand Funk Railroad since 2000, and all the bands and CDs he has been on through his career, there has been none with Grand Funk in 23 years..
Bruce is a class act and is 100% on the ball. It's all Paul's ego and about what sells. They screw over everybody that contributed to KISS. Kiss is a sum of many parts and not just Paul and Gene. They would never have got past the 80s without Vinnie, Bruce, Mark and the rest. God just bury that hatchet and celebrate the family.
Paul and Gene should be ashamed of themselves for not including / inviting Bruce to the final show. All my non kiss fans are bringing up all this shit that went on, and I’m kind of embarrassed to say I’m a kiss fan. I’m glad that I haven’t spent any money on kiss products for the last five years. I probably won’t spend any more in the future. I’ll still listen to kiss, I just won’t promote it like I used to.
Why should they be ashamed? Paul and Gene said publicly, of, course, they all can come to the show. And Bruce was already honoured, when they invited him to be with them in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Bruce said, it meant the world to him! Paul honoured him again publicly, when he said: "He is a Mensch". And he respected Bruce (and Bob) in his book. Bruce should really be thankful.
It should have just been an open one time invitation to every surviving members It's our last show we would like you to be there We know ace and peter wouldn't show because unlike the great Bruce they just want the dollar If they turn up they turn up, if they don't they don't. Hate to admit it but Kiss have really let everyone down on this one thing
The fact that R'n'R hall of fame didn't want Kiss is an other proof that it's a joke these days, and has nothing to do with the real Rock'n'Roll. Kiss is one of the most influencial rock bands in history!
Hes too nice about them. Why couldn't they put Bruce in makeup back then and kept him instead of Tommy tayer, after so many years of loyal service why didn't they keep him. Bring him back after the reunion i actually mean.
@@martymartin2894 Sorry, I don't remember this in Paul's book. Maybe Paul knew from Bob Kulick, that his brother had different plans? When they needed someone in the 80's Paul first called Bob, the older brother to ask him abo ut Bruce. Bob, in the interviews before he died, was very aggressive, and jealous of Bruce (and Ace). And resentful against Paul, because HE auditioned first, before Ace. Maybe that's why Bruce didn't want to return to KISS? His brother frightened him. Around 2019 Bruce even got a restraining order against his brother Bob.
@@HappyMachorino-bd8no I wouldn't believe half of what that guy says anyway he's not honest. And about Bob rip. I remember hearing some of his last interviews and the guy was really angry and not well seemed like a mental breakdown. He was a super guitarist I loved his work on Wasps crimson idol album.
@@martymartin2894 Mostly, I believe what is plausible. It was Bob himself, who raged against Bruce, not Paul. Bob must have been even dangerous. Because it's not easy to get a restraining order. I love Bob's work on Paul's solo album. But his jealousy of Bruce and Ace he expressed himself in those interviews. There's really no reason to blame Paul. His decision against Bob, for Ace, was genius! Bob was good as session musician. Instead of being thankful, he raged and blamed everyone. Why? Paul made him great, and let him live in his apartment etc. Why did Bruce nor return to KISS? Maybe his style didn't fit anymore for Paul? And he was too famous to put him simply in "Ace's" outfit. Probably Bruce himself didn't want this. So Tommy rules. This is the most plausible explanation.
If you can't have some class to ask Bruce to come to the last show, then I think that says it all. Shame on you Paul and Gene for treating such a great person like the never existed. I lost the little respect I had left for Gene and Paul for that.

That was an incredible show!! Had chills the whole time 🙌🏻
What a great guest. Asylum is a top 5 Kiss album for me. Love his solos. Unholy one of the best songs ever recorded. Great interview Mike Brunn.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! It’s easy with a guest like Bruce.
Excellent interview!! Bruce seems very comfortable with Mike!!
Thanks! Bruce is awesome!
Bruce is just such a classy guy!!! I would love to meet him!!! ⭐️⭐️
BK is the guitarist of my KISS fan era. Best time for being a fan. The UNION albums were awesome, too. Very much appreciated. 🤘🤘
Brunn and Kulick? Excited to hear this conversation between the 2 nicest guys in the world of Kiss talk. Ty!!

Ace compliments Bruce bc. Bruce didn't "copy" him.
His intention is to humiliate Tommy.
