Betty Gilpin was an absolute treasure in this
Betty Gilpin is an absolute treasure.
She is hot as fuck
I need more Betty Gilpin led action movies. She's so damn good!
Yes 🙌🏾
Yes 🙌🏾
Sometimes, instead of actually watching the movies, I come here and see in 20 minutes if it’s worth an hour or two of my life. THANKS, CinemaSins!!!
I'll watch the Cinemasins and Cinemawins video on movies, subtract the Sins from the Wins and if the number is positive, I'll watch it. If its negative, I dont.
Saving an hour or two is why I watch this channel lol
Me too,bro...MEEE TOO...
@@nimzi4479 you're doing way too much
Except this movie is with it. Then come here and enjoy this video
Jeremy missed the biggest sin....the movie happened to be released the first week of COVID closures. So we will never know how well it would have organically done at the Box Office. It's actually funny, insightful, surprising (in who is actually the protagonist, has 4 different recognizable stars), and very rewatchable. Thanks for taking the time of a Sin video!
for real
for real
yeah it came out at the perfect time besides that part. the US was more directly polarized. Civil War came out too late, it should have come out in 2020 or 2021. I mean we're polarized now but it seemed so much worse in 2020-2021
Insightful? This movie?
“The credits are in this movie longer than Emma Roberts” 😂
Ethan Suplee struggling to get on the train is a reference to the movie "Unstoppable" where Ethan Suplee missed the train in the same way, kicking off that movies plot.
Holy crap 🤯
I screamed, "not again! " at the train scene.
1:40 "Enucleation" is the process of removing an entire eyeball, not that anyone asked.
Thanks😊Cuz I Would've Asked, Lol, Had I Not Went Straight To Google To Figure The Word Out, Lol
" this is what happens when you attempt to Tarantino your Aesop's fable" 😂😂😂
10:10 Crystal making the sound of a turret revolving before mule kicking the dude always cracked me up 😂
Going out on a limb here…but I’m pretty sure Cinema Sins is a little left leaning
That's like saying feminists are just a little left leaning.
Only a little past Mao.
That move where Betty Gilpin holds herself up and kicks the fake US Embassy guy in the face was cool af 10:10
First time I saw this film was with a bunch of my military buddies at a drive-in theater in Reno. We all went in completely clueless as to what it was about. When the "Military?" "Yea." "Branch?" "National Guard." scene came up, we GROANED out loud 😂😂 one of my favorite memories.
From various gun channels (especially Mat Best) I quickly picked up on the jokes about every branch of service ... except National Guard. Where do they fall? The kid who we tell "Don't worry what others think because you're part of the team, too."? (tussles hair)
@DareToBeDeviant haha yea, pretty much. Like they're the youngest brother of 5 and there's an age gap of at least 10 years. We love em, but we don't take them too serious
7:31 sin rebuttal, she's not saying they need to jump on AT the curve, she's saying the train will be slowing down because of the curve, so now will be their best opportunity to run fast enough to jump on
Thank you. I can imagine that now.
How did this get so many likes?
The train is going to be going it's slowest when it's at the curve, not afterwards.
So why are they running along the train track before the train is anywhere near them, they're just giving it time to pick up speed.
We are not cars, it takes a few seconds to go from standing still to top speed.
His point in the video is that what she said had no relevance to what they actually did, they did not have to get on at the curve but running alongside the train tracks before the train is even near you is ludicrous and the opposite point of saying it will be slower on the curve.
It's like seeing a car stopped at a red light and then running in front of it so you can jump on when it goes past... or just run over to it and jump on before it picks up speed.
The director said he made a movie of all the worst people youd find on the internet
Betty Gilpin is Uma Thurmans long lost twin 😂😂😂 anyone else want to see Kill Bill threequel starring them both 😂😂😂
she looks a little like Lisa Kudrow
Who she really looks almost identical to is Jodie Comer. Lots of people have said so and the two ladies have even both said they've gotten mistaken for one another before
This is what i took from this movie, besides entertainment. The extreme on both sides are INSANE. Divided we fall.
And those who don't buy into either extreme will be forced to deal with their BS regardless.
You understand that anyone describable as "liberal" isn't an extreme on literally either side right? Liberals are quite literally the definition of middle of the road lol.
@@justinhall3469oh fuck yes... 😢
Yep, everyone died because they put their ideology in front of their will to live/survive. Snowball didn't have any political affiliations clouding her thinking, allowing her to thrive.
"Aw, movie thinks it's The Departed"
Fuck me, I did NOT see that one coming. Glorious. Made me pause to laugh.
Why is Betty Gilpin not in more stuff? She is much too good to not be recognized
it's a secret government conspiracy.
If you haven’t seen Mrs Davis you should. And she just had a show called American Primevil on Netflix come out a few weeks ago
Literally about to say watch American Primeval, spoiler alert though there's no happy ending
The film is decent and I agree with CinemaSins: Betty Gilpin deserves an Oscar
I don't think I've ever seen a train with the door open go by.
Work on the railroad, can confirm it does happen from time to time. 🧐
I know what you mean-l’ve never seen that, either.
yeah it seems to be a movie thing only so the main character can get to the next destination (plot point) or handy escape lol
The character Crystal is from Whites Crossing, MS, which is 5 minutes from where I live. It's not even a town, but an intersection of City Bridge Rd and Hwy 26.
How hasn't CinemaSins sinned Sharknado yet??????
Because they are perfect pieces of cinema 😂😂😂😂
This movie is such a fun time
CinemaSins mad that liberals are portrayed as extreme versions as if every other movie in existence doesn’t do the same to conservatives.
Well done as always, guys! I watched this movie for the first time after seeing you release a video for it. The only expectation I had was for you to acknowledge the status of the grilled cheese. You never disappoint 💜
7:46 serious help from the film editors😆🤣🤣🤣💯
For a moment there I was like wait haven't they done this before and then I remembered I've seen this on patreon years ago. Glad to see these old patreon exclusives are now going public
5:34 oh ffs I really tried. SKIP to the rest of this. Just one time writers be normal and well adjusted. I’d imagine this narrator fellow said this “we’re not there yet” line written for him re: white privilege with his eyes closed and chin up too
😂😂😂 😂😂😂 yoooo naw this can’t be real I haven’t laughed this hard in a while
13:38 The real sin is assuming the National Guard was "never in the shit." My Guard unit was deployed to Iraq, so there was plenty of shit.
Have you ever joked about your marine buddies being crayon eaters?
Or the Navy being gay?
Well... People joke about the national guard too.
This was one of those movies I saw a few times and forget more and more of it each time.
I love your videos, but I gotta ask how has Chitty Chitty Bang Bang not been sinned yet? The movie’s almost 2.5 hours long, has a flying car with zero logic, and introduces one of the creepiest villains in kids’ movie history (I mean, the Child Catcher??). Plus, those musical numbers last forever! This movie is prime sin material, and I know y’all would make it hilarious.
How csn they sin such chuldhood whimsy? Dont be silly
Wondering how many other folks ALSO saw this movie as their first drive-in movie as all of the theaters were shut down and you could only see this movie in the Drive-in? I vividly remember that if I turned my head around, I could see Trolls World Tour playing on the adjacent screen (had to tune to a different FM station of course).
2:53 how did she not see this huge hole in the ground 🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
Wow, an audio clip from “The Last Supper” at the end. I didn’t think anyone remembered that movie.
3:52 he's running for his life and just got shot with an arrow. He''s supposed to stop and think about references? None of which you could think of while safe and sound in your home 🥴
The Most Dangerous Game meets The Last Supper meets The Hunger Games
The guy that runs this channel, definitely rooted for the hunters.
Yeah…I picked up on it too
Shocker . Same guy who nearly had a gd aneurysm reviewing rush hour 😂
@@CYMotorsport Peope awre still taking Jeremy for being serious bout every sin? LMao thats what the channel is for to nit pick and piss off people who take shit too seriously.
@@NotTheGrimmReaper no it's the little comments between the sins that you can tell he is a liberal.
Just to help out with some context of how that would work, a train will not immediately pick up speed after the engine has passed the curve, because all the cars still have to go through the curve. As far as running away from the curve, it is easier to get on if you are traveling the same direction as the train and matching the train's speed as closely as you can, but if you are running into a curve, you will have to slow yourself, as opposed to running down the straightaway, where you can hit your max speed while the train is still not yet accelerating.
the ellipses can absolutely go at the beginning of a text. its a pause when you're unsure of why someone is asking a question or unsure that you want to answer.
Personally I think Don was in on it. The way he looked nervous at the start before leaving would suggest he knew bullets were about to start flying, then he just somehow manages to evade the hunters and the traps and make it to the embassy
Was a good time watching this movie.
This movie is hilarious! Love it
Would be awesome if you could do shanghai noon or shanghai knights! Love those movies, but also like watching you make fun of them!
Damn they’ve got Randy😭
"no"
@ ?
I absolutely love the Monty Python reference. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for putting a Dennis Reynolds audio outtake
Cinemasins way too biased to give an honest sin count
Came on this channel looking for Boondocks Saints… yall gotta do it!
Didn’t even finish the video and already saw that Jeremy is still a hypocrite for sinning the logos, and admits that he wasn’t pay attention when watching the opening scene to the movie. (facepalms)
I remember seeing this movie during SinWeek. Knew nothing about it so went it cold. Had a blast. Much better than Bloodspot or Bloodshort or whatever POS movie Vin Diesel was in.
"Failed Franchise Starter #466" I believe it was called.
Bloodshot
So the pilots and flight attendants at the end of the movie will start getting ready for takeoff as soon as ANY person walks onto the plane?
I don't think the character was ever really in Afghanistan, because had she been there, she would have worked with sooooo many National Guard units. Lol
I was thinking don't National Guard units get deployed more than active duty units
Except it is common for all branches of the military to make fun of one another.
The Marines are crayon eating meatheads.
The Navy is gay.
The air force is for those more interested in computers than people.
The army are meat shields.
And the Guard is the little brother that stays home until he begs mom to make you take him with you.
Man where is Earl he shouldn’t let’s his brother Randy run around with strangers😂😂
After all these years. 🎉 that ending fight scene was so epic, the rest of the movie 🛎️ DING! lol
Love to see y'all do Final Girl since y'all did this one finally.
i loved that movie
Finally, I was waiting for this sins for this movie, Finally at last, lol
at last, at last, thank god almighty, free at last!
Underrated movie of the decade.
Yes, I was shocked this didn’t get more hype
@@MaratheSamoyed I remember the initial release was delayed due to a mass shooting. Then it was one of the first movies buried because of Covid. If I remember correctly, it was one of the first movies, intended to have a theatrical release, released straight to streaming. I remember buying it and watching it in my recroom and just laughing my ass off the whole time. I loved this movie!
@@sumoneelse3011also conservatives like tucker Carlson were complaining about the plot without knowing the ending twist that kinda steered people away too
I love this channel and have been subbed for about 6 years maybe. This is the first time ive ever heard you say something that i genuinely think you believe, that i think is so dumb. Women dont get paid less than men for the same job. Go anywhere and ask how much they pay a manager for example. They will say one price. Thats bc there isnt a seperate price if the manager ends up being a woman.
The pay gap has been debunked sooooo many times. Same with the glass ceiling nonsense.
@DH-xw6jp amen brother
Quick glance.. thought it said Ethan Hunt😂
Cue the " These movie shows how extreme Liberals are" comments as if this movie doesn't call out the extreme sides of both parties.
Or one could use that as a preemptive cover.
Honestly, I think this movie does a good job of toeing the line.
Fair statement
Cue the "nobody asked" comments since literaly novel asked. Well exept that one guy but you don't want to be that guy.
it's satire. the entire point of satire is to exaggerate the positions to ridiculousness.
i know, lotsa folks dont get satire
Betty Gilpin was brilliant in this
How did you not like this movie? You took 4 sins off and this is under 100 sins.
Genuinely one of my favourite movies in recent years.
Loved it so much. Just the right amount of action, thriller, ridiculousness and satire.
The ultimate showdown fight was actually peak.
A wonderfully creative film that subverts your expectations as it dips in and out of reality with absurd silver screen level entertainment. Most original good movie of the past decade.
I was really hoping for the Mads Mikkelsen movie from 2012... ☹️
Hands down, one of my favorite movies ever.
FINALLYYYY THIS IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES I SAW IT LIEK 5 TIMES WHEN IT CAME OUTTT
How did you, CinemaSins, manage to feel like more of a caricature than all of the over the top characters in the film?
Also, how did you manage to connect it to the hunger games and all the other movies, but somehow miss the most obvious one being The Most Dangerous Game?
Hell yeah!! I loved this film and Betty Gilpin is sooooooo underrated.
This movie was the first thing I saw her in. She was brilliant in American Primeval too.
@@raoulduke344
She’s awesome in Glow as well.
I think she was underused in The Tomorrow war, and she was alright in 3 Women.
@@MOBROOKS I didn't see any of those, but I'll have to check them out. Thanks.
Only heard of her because of this CinemaSins video, but she seems cool
I like her "boss lady" here wasn't over the top. She was really fun to watch especially her facial expressions. She was like John Wick but much much more human. 😂
14:27 To be fair to this movie, if the conversations in our friendgroup leaked, they'd look a lot worse. Incriminating doesn't even begin to cover it...
That ending 😂😂😂
I am actually curious what the comments say. What cheese is your favorite for grilled cheese? I am a simple guy, a slice of that plastic wrapped square of american cheese is my go to.
If I’m feeling particularity self loathing, I’ll go with a slice of American “cheese”, but otherwise a good smoked cheddar or jalapeño spiced semi-soft cheese is my go to.
Shoot, now I want a grilled cheese with pickles on sourdough bread 😅
@@raspberryjam348 a sin for adding pickles
@@vforwombat9915 awe noooo, pickles are the bomb on a grilled cheese! You’re missing out, my friend
Muenster cheese on sourdough bread
People could sign up for a special offer on HowdyShelfStable where one of the exciting meal kits is actually a perfectly portioned and individually wrapped set of ingredients, plus instructions to make your very own grilled cheese sandwich. Or as John Connor once said, we're not going to make it, are we? That meal kit actually exists, and I've never eaten a meal kit that wasn't issued and forced on me. Favourite cheese would be mature cheddar or Lancashire though.
Satire can be tough when you feel like the ones being satired.
12:59 Both* not all
This movie should be played in Starbucks on a loop
3:52 He could have said Hunger Games..arrows…them being hunted 😅
Takes every chance to critique the satirization of Liberals, but not once the satirization of conservatives. This movie struck a bit of a nerve, huh?
What, cinema sins biased? The hell you say
About TIME, GODSDAMMIT!
Naming the main character "Crystal" is my favorite joke in this movie.
I mean them being idiots with weapons is like the whole point
You think we should feel guilty about being white? for real bro?
Dude, are you serious? You can deny it all you want but there are plenty of things that were done for our race only. Rephrase it with a different word than guilt if you'd like but you should feel ashamed for what was done in the name of our race. What you decide to do with that feeling is up to everyone individually. CinemaSins is taking the high road and choosing to be supportive. You don't need to be a jerk about it.
@@mb67stangnaw.
You shouldn't feel guilty or shame about something you had no part in doing.
This video proves Jeremy and the CinemaSins writers don’t really understand conservatives.
@@DaDestroyer1986
Do conservatives even understand conservatives nowadays.
I’m not throwing shade, it’s a legitimate question because conservatism looks a hell of lot different than it did 15 years ago.
I think the point of the movie was to satirize the most extreme versions of conservatives and liberals...and how the main character doesn't side with either, but gets caught up in their BS regardless.
problem isn't conservatives. problem these days is republicans. they are no longer conservatives. not since madam president took over the party
they are currently radical reactionaries. there's another word for that, but ppl get all annoyed when it's used.
anyway, it's easy to understand conservatives, it's much harder to understand paranoid conspiracy nut narsicists who voted for a crazy old man in order to end america.
@@MOBROOKSyou could say the exact same thing about people that call themselves liberals.
How much have they changed in 15 years?
Should have given a sin off for the exchange
Don: Jesus!!!
Crystal: No, that’s just Gary
Nominate Gilpin for this
Big sin is that the gal in army giving crap the the guy in national guard, but anyone in military in last 1/4 decade know the guard had a much better chance to have seen real action deployed in all over the world.
This movie came out right at the early stages of the covid pandemic and right before the lockdowns and I wanted to go see it but just didn't get around to it before everything went crazy. The last movie I saw at the time was 1917 and I walked out the theater knowing I was coming down with a cold or something because the weather was super cold and I sat in a super cold theater for 2 hours. I did get the movie on DVD later on, I just had to see it.
I really hoped you all did this one ❤!
This movie was surprisngly good imo
You guys should totally sin some of my faves. Bedazzled, Meet Bill, and I ❤ Huckabees. Even just one of them would be cool.
I've seen this movie 100 times and never understood the avatar reference. Thanks for clarifying it
this movie was a masterpiece
The end is always the best.
Nice afghan hound. 😻
This movie was awesome.
FALL Next CinemaSins idea!
Next week cinemasins open season
0:30 I manage to get those ellipses at the beginning of sentences a lot of times in texts. I’m sorry for any kind of trouble you might be having.
Ugh, man - I'm not even a trumper but your liberal bias is starting to make this unwatchable. I may have to cut you from my playlist.
Gee… somebody lives in a political bubble.
Betty Gilpin asking "What state are we in?" as the clerk is ringing up the cigs... on rewatch the timing is just a bit off, like she already knows she's going to be overcharged and just needs to confirm the state as well.
Let's take The Most Dangerous Game and stuff a bunch of random references in it!
