    The breakdown:
    Soul Edge/Blade:
He had a lot of different looks in this game between his three different in-game models as well as the CG promotional material and the FMV intro. All of them looked pretty cool but also vastly different in some cases. This is when Cervantes was THE big bad of the franchise, before Nightmare even existed, and it was great seeing Cervantes here with both Soul Edge blades and at his best, even if he was really cheap in-game. Would love to see his OG design from this game updated with modern visuals.
    Soul Calibur:
His primary costume is clearly based off of his primary costume from SE, albeit lacking the cape and the undead features. With one of the Soul Edge swords shattered, and the other now in possession of Nightmare, Cervantes is now stuck with two very 'un-supernatural' swords... And yet from a visual standpoint, his moveset is even more ridiculous, with the pistol-sword that can shoot people in the face during a counter move as well as the ability to teleport (a move he previously only had once Inferno had completely consumed his body). This is the most 'alive' he'd look until SC5 and between the two, I personally prefer his look here by a small amount, mainly due to how similar it looks to his classic appearance. His P2 alternate has him decked out in yellow armor and sporting a mask that covers his eyes. It's cool, but I always preferred his primary costume.
    Soul Calibur II:
His primary look here is a pretty drastic change from the last game. While Nightmare still obviously wields the Soul Edge that he took from Cervantes, Cervy has managed to somehow mostly reforge the other Soul Edge blade that was previously shattered (though lore-wise, this sword was the smaller and weaker of the two). Now being in possession of Soul Edge again, his look has once again taken a very undead turn. His skin is pale and his eyes are red. His outfit is completely different with a new hat and a gard that resembles a military officer's along with a regal-looking jacket that he has strapped to his back, resembling a crooked cape. His look here, along with the awesome, yet hammy voice-acting makes this probably my fav depiction of him in the series. His P2 (the one shown in this video) look however, looks kind of strange. I dont really know what they were going for here. It's not offensive, but it's hardly intimidating.
    Soul Calibur III
Cervy is still in possession of the lesser half of Soul Edge, but apparently his body is deteriorating. IMO, his artistic direction has also greatly deteriorated. His outfit has returned to a more 'classic pirate's look, but this time they just went overboard with the stereotypical pirate motif. The worst offender is his ridiculous beard, which has grown out to look like spikes coming out of his face with the part on his chin curling upwards. He has a new voice-actor who decided to give him THE most silly stereotypical pirate accent ever. Cervy now looks AND sounds like a straight up cartoon character. His P2 look isn't much of an improvement. He loses the beard, but his outfit comes off to me as a sillier version of his SC1 P2 costume. I know a lot of people are fans of this version of Cervantes, but personally, it's my least fav, by far. I did like the fact that you can use his pistol-sword as a true projectile now, though.
    Soul Calibur IV
Cervantes is nearly decomposed now and has even decided to let go of his lesser Soul Edge when it tried to fuse with Nightmare's blade. Despite this, his fighting style has incorporated a bunch of new absurd techniques like flying around the stage and such, though he did lose a few staple moves and mix ups from the previous games, which was very unfortunate. His primary costume here is sadly still based off of his SC3 look, but I find it to be vastly improved, look-wise. The beard doesnt look nearly as silly, his skin is darker and rotting and his outfit looks like a demonic entity all of its own, with eyes and tentacles all about. This might be the most intimidating and boss-like he's ever looked - surprisingly, it may be in my top 3 fav looks for him. His P2 outfit is an exact graphical update of his SC1 P2 costume (with the same 'living' complexion and all) which I've always been indifferent to. Sadly, his voice-acting is the same 'Arghh I'm a pirate', stereotypical nonsense as the last game.
    Soul Calibur V
Cervantes is back with a new body (apparently). He doesnt have Soul Edge again and *shocker* he doesnt even want it anymore, feeling that he's conquered its control over him. For some inexplicable reason, despite apparently being a full-blooded normal living person again, he can still teleport, fly around, and use telekinesis. His facial appearance resembles his SC2 goatee and hairstyle but only this time he actually looks alive. His outfit is... probably the most stereotypical pirate outfit ever. He has a bare chest, revealing some hilarious purple chest-hair, along with standard pirate's jacket, boots and hat (with a big feather on top). I feel that this costume looks better when customized to black (from pinkish red). Overall its inoffensive, but kind of boring and uninspired compared to his previous appearances. His P2 outfit is yet another updated version of one of his old costumes, this time his P2 SCIII outfit (only this time, he's alive) - I didnt care for it then and Imstill dont now. His voice actor is new, and though he sounds kind of similar to his SC3/4 voice, I do appreciate that the stereotypical pirate accent was (slightly) toned down. Overall, it's a shame SC5 was an unfinished mess, because this Cervy's impact on the plot was even less remarkable than his look and motivations (he had none).
    Soul Calibur VI
Set in an alternate telling of SC1/2. Cervy here has been revived but has not begun to rebuild the lesser Soul Edge, so he's stuck with 'mortal' weapons again, which again means nothing when he's still teleporting and levitating all over the battlefield. His look here was a nice surprise for me, with elements from all of his previous appearances. The tattered and torn outfit, rotting flesh, and glowing cracks in his skin and face definitely aids in the depiction of a man who is struggling to posses his own corpse. Unfortunately, his voice is just as meh as the last game - in fact he even reuses a lot of voice samples from the same game. Again, not terrible, and still better than SC3, but nothing special. Overall, this is probably in my top 3 fav looks for him based on appearance alone.

completely agree. The sc2 p2 outfit has grown on me though. It's quite a different look that isn't intimidating but looks like a naval warrior weapon master guy especially with the double sword spinning moves
