  • The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most challenging passages in the Bible. Understood correctly, it will make even the most well-meaning, gracious person despair of their ability to fulfill God’s commands. In this message, Alistair Begg points to the heart transformation that must precede the radical difference from the world that Jesus preached. Only through Christ’s work in our hearts can we learn to love what the world hates and hate what it loves.
    Scripture: Luke 6:20-27
    Preached: August 29, 1999

Alister you are brutally honest with God's anointing all over you. The truth is sometimes hard to swallow but the truth is what causes us to be able to understand where we are. God's grace is the only hope we have , people as we are a hopelessly lost without Jesus. Our trust and hope should be in Christ Jesus , thank you for what you do and allowing God to use you. I so much want to visit Parkside Church.

I don't say the pledge of allegiance either. Why would any child of God do that?

Well, I suppose (and this is just a guess) for the same reason, the Israelites in Scripture recited the Shema Yisrael daily from Deuteronomy 6, even repeatedly each day, if one belongs to a devout Jewish family. To help oneself ‘remember God’ and our duties owed to Him as our God & His people. And consequently, sin less. Isaiah showed that people sin whenever they forget God.
