- I'm back on Fallout 4, and this time I went to the castle for the Minutemen and decided to build a new settlement there. Turns out it's a great place to build a base, and in this video I show you around all the things I've built.

not a big fan of adding supports to your floating floor eh?
To be fair, the settlement system is so nihilistic and hates it when you try to make things look good so much that this is basically impossible.
In coding terms why would you use more storage when you have mutiple variables to tend in limited engine. Thank you tho for the opinion.

One thing I've learned from the defend the castle missions, turrets don't do anything against synths

2:04 I just realized that that is the entrance of the castle and I've been using the one opposite of it as the entrance

Loved your Castle build. I have a vested interest in the Jamaica Plain build as I have had such a good time in that area. It is currently the base that contains all of my companions (minus Dogmeat who is always either with me or at Sanctuary). Many of my trade routes pass through here. It wasn't intentional; many provisioners pass by this settlement naturally and would be a great place for a market or out door mall. Oxhorn did a good build of this settlement; but I have yet to have seen a really great build of Jamaica Plain. Maybe this could be your next build.
Jamaica Plain always pissed me off because of the one house that you can't use or scrap. I built up a limited settlement there just to support having some artillery.
Any chance of you doing a walk through? I'd love to have the same setup.

Gonna nerd for a second. If you block off one the entrances to the castle you effectively cut off the trade caravans that move through the territory. How they supposed to make their runs now?
Do they come in the collapsed wall side, though? I've only ever seen through the door.

ive just finishe making a ridiculously large castle. like 20,000+ wood. been hacking away for a year. got towers, a boathouse and a surrounding village. would there be any point uploading now?

You know if you are on PC you can just turn on god mode (TGM in console) and craft with unlimited resources? I do that because fuck farming for that stuff.
My game developed a glitch a year ago where I have no build limit on any settlement.

Id be interested to see what you can do with bunker hill, it's challenging to make anything decent with the small space available there. In the meantime another great vid!
Hey Joe I don't really comment on this stuff, but I feel like I have to. I have lights everywhere too in my bases, I too like them as well, who cares what people say about the lights, as long as they work for you.

awesome builds, I've watched this one, red rocket, fort sanctuary and the wire glitch. I play on a Xbox one so i don't get to use the console commands (sucks), i do use some of the mods. I use the "scrap fallout" mod, i can move /scrap roads but am having trouble tring to get them placed correctly any suggestions?
Good job. But when I build I try to make supports for platforms, it just looks better.

stick to your guns and dont mod your builds! Unmodded builds are the best builds. You probably should invest more in SCIENCE! though to be able to build just one fusion generator to power this whole place... Easy way to tidy up :-) Great work!

I don't remember who said it but either preston or that old lady i charge of the armory said that the general's quarters are yours, and there is no other room in the entire castle that can fit as a generals quarters other than that room.
And 14:36 minutes in if you look to the left that is where a bed frame was but he scrapped it.
I mean, it's nice and all, but you dont have proper fortifications. Keyword: proper. As in fortifications that give someone standing up full cover on the walls. Preferably on both sides. Preferably with machiculations for throwing grenades down on people who stand at the wall. Also, instead of a waiting room, you could have a gatehouse with murder holes for shooting down and tossing grenades on anyone who manages to get into the gatehouse. Just those extra little things you can do to the walls to make it super defensible.

does the amount of morters effect the amount of shells dropped when u call for artillery?
I think. With 2 artillery cannons i can shoot 5-6 shells,but overall im not sure.

+Pathologically Lethal You need the Picket Fence magazines. Unlocks a bunch of stuff you can place down.

I wish the settlement size was the same xbox as it was on pc. I can barely fit 3 artillery and 20 beds with some other turrets.
+Jake Rotter I might be wrong as i don't play consoles. But the PC build size is the same as on the consoles, and you can increase it with a glitch. If you get tons of guns and go to the base you want to increase. Drop the guns on the ground. And store them in your workshop it increases the base size. It's alot easier to do on PC as you can just spawn the guns in. But on consoles you have to collect each gun. lol thanks man, there isn't much hate. It's just with every video I upload. You say or do something slightly wrong. You get about 30 people telling you in the comments. Something as little as accidentally calling something by the wrong name. That's enough to annoy people to comment on it. Pretty used to it now. Something I'm used to and expect with every video I upload. :)

+Lucas Månsson I do. Just type 'tgm', puts you in god mode. Makes base building a lot more fun.

ShadowMentor I built bases legit during my series on Fallout 4. So when I finished it I decided to just give myself as much resources as possible and let my imagination build any base I wanted. So I've had best of both worlds lol.

you can mod your TV to play Mr bean, loonie toons and the SPECIAL videos.
for things falling through the floor I highly highly recommend OCDecorator. stops it and make placing small objects a breeze

i build not many like u but its say max structure
just drop items from ur inventory (materials, weapons, armor etc.) and scrap/store them in the workshop menu
Get all ur guns in the base drop em somewhere inside ur base then go into build mode and add them to workshop

No he didn't - those are in the vanilla game. I think the Picket Fences magazine from Sagus Ironworks unlocks them.
