Back then, they used the huge Maglite flashlights, and now they use all of these smaller, yet brighter ones. That must be a blessing to cops these days. However, the Maglite could be used as an attitude adjuster.

This is such an amazing time capsule. Everything was SO different and this show did a really good job at showing the reality of day to day American life at a specific time. It’s so fascinating to me to see how different everything was. 20+ years ago. The cars, the dress styles, the electronics. Everyone was so much skinnier. This is amazing to see now.
LEOs didn't have much respect back then. There was a metric ton of dirty shit going on in every PD. No bodcams = cops could get away with a lot of shady things. And they did. Bodycams hold everyone accountable these days, which is awesome. But, yeah, cops were hated big time by everyone, not just criminals. Other than this show, which later became a funny spectacle more than a serious look into an officer's routine shifts, there were no other positive media portrayals of police. All we heard about was the corruption and bad cops. Which is why I'm grateful for bodycam footage being uploaded onto the web. It gives everyone a chance to see what cops go through on a daily basis.
