    This video saved my bacon, lost both power steering and a/c belt. Replaced all 3 belts with great thanks to your mechanic, who explained the process perfectly.

    Just got this truck today. Guy who sold it to me helped change it. And it was in the end. In upside down. But I also wasn’t aware of the bleed method. This video literally saved me. Amazing. Well explained. Very cut to the chase. Awesome man. When I do more work I’ll be back to see more. #subscribed

    Just going to add a couple things here. Be ready to drain out a decent amount of coolant so have some shop towels and a bucket at the ready. You can plug the hole with them once it slows down to a trickle, and hook the coolant hose facing upwards to stop more from pooling out. Also with my 2004 Pathfinder SE (Canadian) I did not have to remove the negative connector on the battery, or anything to do with the air box. Only the shroud. Last but not least there is only 2 belts for my model/engine type. Check to see how many you have before going to the parts store. The rest of the video was very helpful and 1A Auto is my go-to for a lot of how-to videos.

      Thanks for your comment, I was confused because the video says applicable to models up to 2004 but mine is a 2003 and it has only 2 belts as well. I suppose they're working on a 3.3 and not a 3.5, like our models have.

    Is it necessary to put the fan blade back on before you put all the belts on?

  • @timmygilbert1371
    @timmygilbert1371 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The link to the belt is only one belt . My 98 has 3 like the one in the video . Do yall sell all three ? Thanks

  • @stevekillon6682
    @stevekillon6682 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    To change the belts only, they make this look way harder than is actually is ! Go under the bottom and remove the cover and you can adjust the belts from the bottom. Slide them over the fan from the top.

    You may want to make a bit to tighten the bottom bolt on the AC belt tensioner because so one is going to forget it and have a bad day lmao?? Just sure it was a miss but maybe put in a text to remember otherwise great video. People create to many short cuts. I agree just pull the fan shroud. The tensioners are a real pain!! Thanks for the video. Regards,

    After replacing my belts, I'm getting a continuous whining sound. I've tried tensioning the belts more but it doesn't help. What could it be? Thanks

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pedro Pozo We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

      I was having the same issue after I replace the belts. Located the noise to a tensioner pulley on the left hand side gave it some lube it quieted down a bit but came back I ended up replacing the whole idler pulley and it went away.

  • @turbomonkey80
    @turbomonkey80 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: Has the bracket for the AC compressor belt tensioner been cut, or modified to get to the tensioner bolt? Because on my '96 Pathfinder there's no way to get to that bolt without removing the whole cover.

    • @turbomonkey80
      @turbomonkey80 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nevermind..... I got it.... 😂

    • @turbomonkey80

      At 8:39 it doesn't show the extra little cover over that tensioner bolt which also requires removing two more 12 mm bolts.

    Is this still duable even if the fan shroud is on

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Matthew R Thanks for checking us out. Not removing the fan shroud would make this repair much more difficult if not impossible to complete as it would be in the way of the belts you are trying to replace. Please let us know if you have any further questions, thank you.
