One thing to consider is that tires won't increase the weight capacity of a trailer. That's the axle and frame itself that decide that. Also, did you run boards across from one floor joist to the other on the ends? If not, it will sag there.
yea even I saw that. And the outside looked like it was bowing out in places. Something that size I would do metal frame to reduce the weight. I understand he's trying to keep the price down, but weight can bring issues.
I would like to see more videos of this build I bought some property and I want to build some tiny guest homes on the cheap. The other videos i see they think spending $30000-80000 is cheap. And I'm not rich $2000 - 4000 is in my budget. Thanks
Stuccoflex is a good exterior product you might like. Tip for application.. Do not apply on a hot day.. It will dry 5oo fast on you. Another tip, you can spray lightly with water while you are working with it.. Aids in spreading it really smooth.
Cool little build, great salvaging. Really surprised by all the couch potato negativity out there, jeeze! Its a DIY project, and glad to see you having some fun :P
From a commercial building background. Metal studs make more sense to me ? I’ve watched a lot of these builds . I’d use 24# & 18# GA studs for the entire frame. It’s just my two cents.
I noticed that no waterproof material was installed before the wood floors (like some type of sheet metal?) How do you protect against water damage? Should that have been done 1st?
He said it's going to place it under a pole barn to shield it from the elements. I built a shed just like this on the ground as a pump house for my well equipment. 10 years later in a wet Florida climate its holding up just fine. It's a shed, not a house. It's better than a tent. The weight issue is important.
Wow I would love yo hsve thst for me snd my two dogs, I like the land out there it would be so easy to put it on a lil land.how much you sell one of those for,?
@@oursimplestorychannel I'm not sure, because I haven't seen it all yet. How is it heated and cooled? Is there room for a toilet and kitchen? Will it have electricity? These are things I don't know yet. I'd have to wait and see.
@@oursimplestorychannel Oh nice. I'm about to become a teacher as well, looking to start my first year teaching next Fall. Building an affordable and livable structure like this seems like a therapeutic and rewarding summer project. Thanks for the response
Interior wood has different glues than exterior! I only saw one piece of treated wood on the walls! No exterior support for the walls on a 3/4” floor??? Paint and silicone won’t save interior plywood! No thanks!
@Brighton Quintana It made perfect sense to me, and he's not wrong. There are lots of material choice problems in this video, but realistically it wont be moving and will be in a pole barn so I don't really think he cared too much.
Can't you use the metal studs material instead the wood is cheaper and lighter plus aluminum exterior than mineral isolation and then plastic sheets interior?
Hi, the tiny is still under construction. They'll be out as I progressive build this house. We are probably 1-2 months out for that video still. Thanks for your patience!
16" spacing between studs is a requirement when building any residential structure to ensure Structure Integrity. when building a tiny house on a trailer or any such structure that would or could eventually be moved across roads, high wind areas etc, you want to make sure that you install Simpson strong tie connectors. The how to of which is to put one end on the top side of the front of the trailer (towards the hitch) the other end on the bottom side of the back strait across the wall frame work (adjustments may be made to avoid windows etc), you would run a chalk line across the position you want it in, then cut into the frame work across each line on each 2x4 then you would hammer into place the Strong tie. nail it down with 2 nails per 2x4. putting the strong tie in place keeps the tiny home from swaying and warping do to wind force and vibration against your home. This supports and protects your home during road travel and/or high wind areas when your not on the road. Its also important to follow all OSHA guidelines when building a tiny home on a trailer. Always, I repeat always make sure your following your states and/or Federal guidelines when building a residential structure even on a trailer as failure to do so can lead to fines and penalties and even seizure of your tiny home. Granted everyone wants to build their projects as cheap as possible, this is a good budget project. Just make sure all OSHA guidelines are followed. If you are unaware of what OSHA's guidelines are for building your tiny home, you can find out via their website, contact them, the info is free or check with your state and local gov. when purchasing a pre-made tiny home ensure the seller has followed OSHA guidelines as if they haven't and for any reason your local/state/federal gov wishes to inspect it, the fault falls on you.

I live in something just like that lol. we dont all need the same things. It may be small but it is my home. Shed to some, home to me. I spend most of my time outside shooting, hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, snowboarding, four wheeling, tending to chickens and goats, foraging, geocaching, rock climbing etc......so all I need is somewhere to sleep 6 hours a night and it does its job while allowing me to live with 0 rent, 0 mortgage, little up front investment. Wouldnt trade my shed for anything at this point in my life haha

Probably a good idea to change the tires FIRST!
Probably.

People are so rude in the comments :( be proud of yourself! You did great! 😊💙
Thanks! Their not that bad :)
Love it! Would like to see how to build slide outs...
The rustic wood touch was a good idea.
With that small building, 24 inches, on center, is fine, that's what incredible tiny homes, uses.
Thanks for the info, I’m relieved.
You didn't wrap the door or windows. The bead board isn't exterior material. I don't see how this isn't going to leak and rot within a couple years.
I saw this video before. I loved it. I am interesting on a 8.5 w× 30 × 16fts tall tiny home with 3 bedrooms.
How much $?!
Truly AWESOME! I wish I had that skill! But it's cool to watch.
You’ll develop the skill if you practice. That’s how I learned.
Ooooh I need one of these in my life.
So I'm sure you sold this. Would you ever consider making another one? If so you have a customer.
Me!
I love it
Yes I would consider.
I hope u eventually change the exterior... or find a way to protect it ... spoke to soon love the rustic shingles... other than that fun project
Thanks for watching!
I noticed that no waterproof material was installed before the wood floors (like some type of sheet metal?) How do you protect against water damage? Should that have been done 1st?
No. It’s a tiny house, not a camper trailer. It won’t be towed through the rain every other day.
Would have been nice to see inside finished product.

I love ❤️ the way it came out!
You did a great job for the budget you had to work with.
Thank you so much!
Awesome job I need one for my food business. 😩
Those tires do not increase anything . If you were to swap out the axle that would increase the capabilities
This is literally the only house I can afford right now.
You can be happier in this house than in one costing 10 times more...
This video is very satisfying thanks dog
Thanks yo
Wait, BRO!!… Do you have this thing just laying around?! Can I please buy it from you???
No, I sold it a year ago. Sorry!
Great little house 💜💜💜💜💜

I did the same on my walls with new fence pickets. Looks great.
Right on!

Nice work!
Brand new factory made 12 x 6 enclosed cargo trailer sells for $2300 or less in Georgia.
Where? No way! I'm in the market for a trailer.
Your roof is going to leak. Your floor is going to rot. I speak from bad experiences. It's all about layering.

Good luck with your tiny house. I bet the kids like to play in it. If it is going to be kept in a pole barn it ought to last you a long time.

No. I painted the roof with elastomeric. This helps with reflecting heat and insulation.

maybe you spoke of this in the video & i just missed it, but how did you go about getting a builder’s permit for this build?
I don’t need a permit to build this.
Our Simple Story okay, i thought everyone needed a permit for any build of a livable space.. perhaps it varies by state or something. thanks.
Billy Bob Benjamin For my state you don’t need a permit unless you’re digging into the ground
Kristal C so even if it needs to be road-worthy? can i ask what state you’re in?
I am in Alabama but have seen other counties/states have little to no building restrictions. MO is another state that has very little red tape.
