I've also done the "What were y'all talking about?" thing to fruitless effect, Thaddeus. I find "being in the now" works much better in socializing situations.
It doesn't get much of a laugh, but I was in hysterics at the line "butt surgery or something" at 1:43. The whole sketch is hilarious, and Nasim Pedrad is great in it. And I agree she was an underrated cast member.
I knew a guy who used to do that. He couldn't miss out on anything so he'd talk across other people to make sure he got stories from the other groups sitting around a table. It was incredibly annoying.
