I can honestly see this (in a way) being cannon. Not the part where his close ones try to call him, and him not responding, but the part where he doesn't see himself as William, and Springbonnie. (I assume he started budging at Glitchtrap is because of Glitchtrap being the closest thing to a real Springbonnie we've seen in any of the games.)
