Happy I found this video. My 2010 Grand Caravan has had the P0456 trouble code for a couple years. New gas cap didn't help. This video helped me replace the ESIM in a 1/2 hour. Great job.
The ESIM isnt always the go to fix for the code. You might also have a bad purge solenoid. A bad charcoal canister, A line thats gone bad as far as cracks. This is why its important to look at the hoses and lines to see that they are all ok. Also on top of the gas tank you have a plastic nipple that comes out from the top and the line thats connected to it over time could break that nipple off. The plastic is brittle.
Thanks for the video! I too have a 2012 Town and Country and just discovered the check engine light and the PO456 code. 2 times listed as generic and once as permanent. I need to know which side of the vehicle and in what approximate front to back location for the 310-215 Evaporative System Integrity Module. It appears it may be just to the front of the suspension item (strut perhaps) in the passenger side rear of the vehicle, If possible please clarify at your earliest convenience.
It’s weird some 2012 town and country’s take E85 yet I don’t think they have it in America anymore, say’s won’t hurt to use regular but engine and all will run and last better if you can use it I don’t know, what do you think?
The part is not a Leak Detection Pump (LDP). Older Dodge Caravans around the 2001 vintage used an LDP but the newer ones don't. It's called a Evap System Integrity Monitor (ESIM). For some reason people use the two part descriptions interchangeably but an LDP and an ESIM are totally different devices.
Yeah that’s an ESIM, not a pump. It has two one way valves that respond to vacuum and pressure, and a diaphragm that opens and closes a switch. Don’t install it upside down!
It is located under the van on the driver's side behind the driver's wheel but you have to get under the truck to see it so make sure you use proper jacket ands and safty equipment
@@leof7635 You are thinking of the older Dodge minivans that use a Leak Detection Pump (LDP), which is located under the driver's seat. This newer vehicle uses a Evap System Integrity Monitor (ESIM), which is located in the rear of the vehicle near the gas tank. The ESIM is mounted onto the charcoal canister.

There is a couple DTC codes thrown concerning EVAP system. P0441 is but one of them? A lot of people buy new gas cap but that’s not always the cure. Or purge valve which may not cure it either. Or FTPS ( fuel tank pressure sensor). Or ESIM. The FTPS is the most expensive part. One thing is certain … Shop rates to fix it are more expensive than all 4 parts together. So DIY if you can. You will save a bundle.
I just picked up mine from the shop doesn’t have any codes but when you stop completely it tries to turn off then accelerates a bit to stay on. The mechanic found the main engine wiring burned and just installed a new set. The 2012 T &C is running close to 500 rpm’s. The fuel pump is working fine not sure what to look for.

5th generation. 2008 - 2016 all same fix as this video. Thanks buddy.
Well, I’m gonna chime in like the rest of them. Thank you for your video real simple into the . 2010 Town & Country.

Great video.
This guy sounds like a young Joe Pesci 😊
You should make more videos!
Thank you for the video. This quick and easy task fixed the problem.
Great video. Saved me a lot of money!
Thanks, Big help for my Town Country

I have the same question where is this thing. And can it be replaced without lifting the van?
@giczkod gotta jack it up. No need for a shop lift. I recently changed two of these last week, very easy fix
It's just above the rear axle almost directly in the middle
I have a 2013. I’m not seeing this part on the mymoparparts webpage for sale. I typed in Evap valve. Is there another name?
@@freshmaker5 I believe it is also sometimes referred to as a Leak Detection Pump

Nice video. Thanks!
Thanks. I'm hoping a short battery disconnect will clear code.
Is this located near the gas tank?
Is the ESIM in the same spot of the 2010 town and country as well?
Thanks very helpful 👍
What part of the car you I'm doing the front driver back driver passenger
Nice that you left your "mistakes"

According to the part name it is categorized as a Leak Detection Pump. As well as on ALLDATA.

Thanks man good job
Hello where under the car do i can find it?
thanks for sharing
Hello! what is the name of the piece that you changed
thank you
How often would one have to change this part??
I had a 2010 grand caravan from 2012 until 2023. Put over 120K miles on it, plus the 90K that was already on it. I replaced it once.
Where is the location of this valve?

@joevignolor4u949 how about 2008 T&C?
Hi I’m getting a misfire cylinder 3 code is this possible for a fix?
No. You should do a leak down test.
No this will not fix a misfire code I'm sorry

Dorman sucks 😂😂😂😂😂
I would buy the OEM part I don't trust after market parts
Nothing wrong with after market. In fact, I work in aftermarket. We sell some of our aftermarket parts to OEs. Same darn thing.
