I shudder to think how much David spent on this little bullet ! O.K. Now it's get bored shitless time ! In '79 l had a pick up with a 1300 that came out of the 1100/1300 . So l bought a piano put it in the pickup and drove it home . So l've got me and my good lady , who's expecting and with our daughter on her lap. Most people if they come to the South West know Telegraph Hill. So l'm giving it plenty with the pickup and we overtake a Triumph Stag up Telegraph ! 85/90 ! As we draw level with the Stag he looks over and then he see's the piano on the back ! As long as l live l will never forget the look of disbelief on his face !! Just so funny. (That sounded very sweet ! )
Not bored with that at all John. Love stories like that. In times before the police have a shit and we could get away with. Happy memories are all we need for cars. Glad you shared the story.
Thank you both so much for allowing us to see this truly stunning pick up, he's getting the Toony award for being meticulous lol. I'm a glutton for a supercharger on anything, they sound amazing. I'm sure that style steering wheel didn't come out til about 1976, my Allegro had something very similar......god I am such a geek!!
I have not seen a mini puck up in stoke on trent for about 25 years alex that one is stunning love the engine with the booster it sounded brill pulling of he that guy knows his stuff I had a yellow mini van back in the 1984 they did rattle a lot in the back but nippy Great video mate keep them coming Phil in stoke
I crash one of those when I was 11 years old in El Salvador! My dad was so upset that he didn’t want to fixed it. Eventually he did but it gives me so much memories every time I see one of those. Although here in the states I haven’t seen one of the mini trucks.
Very nice..... I have full centre caps on my rose petals.... wasn't a fan of the hole in the middle..... And I agree, I have newton moulded carpets for the remote type floor, doesn't fit well at all!!!
It is Will, that style came out in '76....I think, definitely a late 70's wheel. That centre portion eventually works loose, held in with some form of sealant, doesn't half give you a shock the first time it drops into your lap as it did in my Allegro 😂

I fully rebuilt a pickup in the late 80's from about 2/3rds of a shell no doors and nothing infront of them except the bulkhead...4 years work, 1275, S discs, servo, removable steel front and wings... then decided it was too small for me....sold it for .......£750.......
Absolutely gorgeous pick up! Quality build! Great walk around. Be nice to see how it drives with that lovely Supercharger!! 😍
I can post some videos of it. Probably need to record some more content tho.
@@scoobymaster350 Do well! Any content would be appreciated! Seriously tho, a gorgeous mini, and also because I'm interested in supercharging mine 😊

Certainly gets my approval mate, attention to detail is very impressive. If i did i pickup its exactly how i would want it
@@classicminidetails8887 Haha! That very thought of thats how you would do it was going through my head all through watching the video.
Wow love the retro 60's look of this pick up Registered May 1979 this pick up
Registered in Middlesbrough
Lord what a beautiful car. This is like my dream mini. Pickup, supercharged, truly beautiful.
Your the bad influence that made him supercharge it
@@classicminidetails8887 "bad" influence...

What a beautiful pickup, amazing work 👍👍
A very nice build.
Supercharging is an interesting way to go, but can see lots of advantages.
It sounds amazing too!
Thats an absolute screamer! Ill need to keep an eye out for it!
Well that was an expensive build. Bloody lovely. Sounds sweet as he drove away.
Its absolutely stunning and a credit to David
Wow what a car attention to detail is amazing!!!
When i saw he had powdercoated the chains that hold the tailgate in place i was like oh my..... Not a single stone left unturned on this.
That’s a lovely build and sounded sweet at the end 👍
Sounds absolutely fantastic

Stunning pick up👍 cant be many now especially like that
When Davie told me he was getting a pickup I was like 'eh ?', now I'm like 'ah !' . I so get it. Very special Davie. Well done.

Its such a shame about the carpets considering they are much more expensive than other brands
Maybe Newton Commercial need to be made aware of the problems, their seats are great but when you are paying premium prices?
Pretty sure that steeringwheel came at the same time as the 'new' front subframe got onto mini's, should be Mk4 onwards.
I thought the commercial steering wheels had that design and saloons had the 3 spoke?
@@classicminidetails8887 No, Vinko is correct. The wheel matches the twin stalk column shroud of the 76 onwards models.
Saw the mag cover on this, really cool pick up. 👍
Its stunning
Lovely pick up. great video as always toony
Was so nice mate, couldn't not do a video on it
Looks lovely
The wheel is what my 1979 & 1977 clubmans should have

@@graemew7001 that's a nice looking one, I went with a smaller wheel to allow more leg space for me while driving
@@WilliamMurfitt Don't blame you mate, I'm 6ft and 16 stone myself so it wouldn't work for me either.

Nice feature Alex
Love this vid, but big question how much?
Lots 🤣
What a pick up 😱😱😱 stunning
What the color is it?
The guy looks like one of the impractical jockers
Love it 👌
Go to a sc close ratio gearbox, you will be always in the power band. Std ratio gearbox are awful
Do you have a link for the interior mats please?
Classic minis Japan sell them. Facebook
Thanks mate
Where can one find the center, hole reducers for the Rose Petal wheels?
Not sure mate maybe David will have a look through these comments and let you know!
I got them from mk1 forum. I’ll try and find a link.
How many bags of cement can it carry?
Be interesting to find out
lovely car , but spoiled for me by those silly stick on number's , why !
First... been looking forward to this for a while
Barely saw the car, every frame has the guy in it talking. More of the car less human modeling...
Need to put some glasses on if thats the case.
