Another absolutely bostin tour of a very popular Black Country location. Keep bringing us more TH-cam posts, Phil, it's absolutely bostin to learn more about our rich culture and heritage. Well done, absolutely bostin great work 👍
Great video yet again Phil. I was hoping you would do the 'pub crawl' down Spon Lane. I remember my Dad talking about the amount of pubs down there saying if you started drinking a tea spoon of beer in the first and doubling it in every pub by the time you got to the last pub you would be drinking something like 20 pints (can't remember the exact number). I especially liked how you match the old pictures with the locations. I remember the old Spon Lane and used to drive down it quite often, must say I preferred it to this new version.
Hi Phil I remember the Imperial cinema and directly opposite there was a pub on Spon Lane called the Bulls Head in the early 1970s and I always enjoyed a drink in the Dartmouth with all those pubs on Spon Lane it shows you how much Industry was in West Bromwich I liked looking at the old photos of the pubs all the best Paul
Yes Paul Chances being one of the main ones in the Smethwick end of Spon Lane. Lots of industries around Grice Street and Ault Street. I noticed the old Forresters Arms building was still standing on the corner of Ault/Bullock Street.
Enjoyed that Phil I was born in Barrow St but irember going in the Dartmouth in 1975 I was 16 a girl was serving behind the bar we was in the same class😂 there was also the Manchester in spon lane
Glad you covered these Phil. My old man used to tell me about all these back in the day. One of the ones at the top had the nickname as the Top Wrexham I remember him telling me. He was actually from Wrexham too. Hiccup *&$+.....
Hello Phill my family lived in Glover street and my dad used those pubs and many more in the area he always said you could not drink in every pub from the Dartmouth to the Sponcroft and make it home without help
