    Hey! It's Fang. Thanks so much for doing the reaction to this, I must've missed it when it first came up. Appreciate the comments, and regarding the mouth movement - I will admit to playing it up a bit for the camera. I also did this for a livestream, which is probably a bit more relaxed (and with a bit more training under my belt): th-cam.com/video/QKYyip4k1Qc/w-d-xo.html
    We also did have a bit to drink beforehand, lol. I'll have to check you out when you're live on twitch, I'd love to get your reactions to some of our non-opera music :-D

    Now you need to react to Brittney at a karaoke bar, a little bit tipsy, after a full show, singing one of the most difficult song Queen Of The Reich.

    Yep. Brittney was classically trained but wasn't a Vocal Major. She took every single music and voice course she could in College.

    There is a good video (as mentioned) worth watching (because both ladies are awesome) of Elizabeth having 'tea' with Brittney. A lot to admire about both of them musically, but I think they would be some down to earth people that you could either just have a nice conversation about anything or have as a good friend. The world needs more like them.

    It's hard to say what I'm seeing and hearing here but it's almost as if there was post production on both but Britney's was done on her actual singing as her mouth movement seemed perfect to what she is emitting.... But maybe he is lipsinking to something he recorded and dubbed over afterwards and before release of this

    8:24 - sounds like you’re describing a English “flap D”. If you say words like butter, water, or writer at conversational speed, your tongue just flicks against the alveolar ridge instead of pressing there, resulting in a “d” sound. It’s also important in Japanese for the syllables ra, ri, ru, re, and ro. Beginning students struggle with them, pronouncing them as either a hard American r or l, but they actually start with our friend the flap D.

    I don't think she was formally trained to any great extent in classical singing but has loads of choir singing experience. You've got to love her talent.

    • @GustafB
      @GustafB 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Check out the tea-time interview with Brittney and the Charismatic Voice (Elisabeth), they go into some detail on her training. Basically she was not majoring in singing, but took any course she could, so it was a fair bit of training.

    • @Drinckx2
      @Drinckx2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GustafB I've seen it. She seems to suggest that she had experience in choral singing from quite a young age and continued this at college. But not formally trained as in, 'studied opera and classical singing at a conservatoir' for any extended period.

    Just saying, I could probably write a book if I tried.
    Singing opera? Singing power metal? I couldn't do that if I tried, lol. Notwithstanding that, I can still appreciate the emotion and music itself, and I can even appreciate the drinking. The fact that my favorite power metal singer sings opera? *Muah* Chef's Kiss. It's icing on the cake.
    And, I agree: Now you've gotta react to Unleash the Archers covering Queen of the Reich by Queensryche.
    As an aside, Brittney was not classically trained. She learned how to sing in a Christian Gospel choir.

    Is Fang actually singing "live" in this video? I feel like he sounds way too good to look this strained and forced while singing and some of those mouth shapes don't make sense for me for the timbre on some of those notes he's singing.

    • @GhostEye31
      @GhostEye31 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a small blurb towards the start saying they did mix the audio in post so they might have fiddled with it a bit to make it sound a bit cleaner but who's to say how much.

    Fang pronounced it how its spelled in English... not that complicated... because one wants to said in Italian (accent) does not make the way Fang pronuciation wrong.... we all knew what song he was referencing. This is an example of an elite or one whom is fullof themselves..carrys the family tree on their nose...... There are plenty more reactors on here with far more expirience; whom had no problem in the way it was pronounced.

      Hmm maybe there is post production and it’s not real Skype, but I think the audio is from the original video. The “glitch” probably covers up a transition.

    " Italian is a dead language"...I think the writer was being ironic ( I realize you are from the US, the Land that has their irony gene removed at birth). I suspect the writer was referring to your dogmatic approach to the languages pronounciation and that any living language is always changing. Also There is no one Italian ( in fact until Garabaldi little pushiness there was no Italy). It is made up of a whole collection of languages from different regions and unlike French there was never a forced codification of the pronounciation. Most of the Italian immigrants where I grew up strongly break up the syllables eg. "Brand-is-si" sort of. same with the "cch" sound. Even German has regional variations ( hoch Deutsch "Ich" (hard "ch" sound), Schwabian and Austrian "Ish"

    • @TheDarkhorse1947
      @TheDarkhorse1947 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well said Greg. There is such snobbery with some of these classical reactors. Someone speaks in their second or third language and gets picked on by Americans who single handed manage to butcher english. I have heard Floor Janson sing in about 4 languages and I heard a reactor with the most outlandish northern English accent complain she got a word wrong.

      Have you ever watched a Lords of the Trident video? They are the definition of over-exaggerated.
      Loads of fun, super over the top, and very talented. They take the music seriously, but they definitely don't take themselves seriously at all.
