Having issues with mealy bugs on my african violets. I've been using alcohol on them, and the plants handle it well. Don't want to spray though. I posted about my violets on another post. A gentleman posted back calling them "mealy monsters". Kinda made me feel better! Love your videos!
Aw thank you so much!! Sorry you’re dealing with them! I know they don’t like their leaves to get wet so that would be tricky! Have you tried to use an insecticide in the soil?

Just some food for thought, this All Seasons product is basically completely mineral oil. It cost $20 dollars for 16oz. You can buy 128oz of pure mineral oil also on Amazon, for $24 dollars. So hope that helps in the near future. I'm curious how damp do you keep your maranta's soil? Do you allow it to dry out, or continually water it to keep it moist? Cheers!

I had some mealy bugs on my money tree and used a dish soap and water mix I saw on the web and my leaves began falling and getting spots on them. I ended up using neem oil spray and it’s fine now but sheesh what a bad experience 😥 everyone says it works tho. Do you have any experience with the dish soap method?
Hi! Thank you! 🤗 I’m sorry that happened! I haven’t heard of the dish soap method for mealies. I use a few drops of dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap mixed in with my neem spray to take some of the smell away but haven’t noticed any leaf burn on the leaves or anything from using that. I’m thinking the soap was too strong and caused some burn on the leaves 😢
That maranta is so big and beautiful! I have one, but it just keeps spitting out little leaves. I have it with my other maranta's that are doing just fine, so who know's what it's issue is. I guess I should just be happy it's still alive. :)
@@plantsbymelissa I give them a light feeding with almost every watering! It is sitting just under another that's hanging above and doing fine, so it should be getting the same amount of light... actually, it's a bit crispier than the others as well now that I think of it. Maybe it's just not a strong specimen. 🤷♀️

Oh no! I have one that is giving me small leaves and I think it’s because it’s in low light. Do you fertilize them at all?

It’s by bonide! I linked it in the description! It protects against plant pests for 8 weeks but not spider mites so keep that in mind 😁🤗
