This video was flat out absurd. I would have told you that Blur was ready for the parts bin, but you rescued it completely and brought it back to life entirely! Ready to be a faithful companion on new adventures, simply outstanding work!
I had to do the screw removal trick to a blur that I found laying out in the middle of the street. I used my dremel with the cut off wheel and just made a simple notch across the head so it could be removed with a small flat blade screwdriver. As I was taking the knife the rest of the way apart for cleaning couple other heads stripped so I notched them the same. That way I could put it back together while I waited on parts from Kershaw. I love that knife. It had been ran over so many times that the scales warped. I straightened them out as best I could. The torsion bar broke on it one day and I had gotten my bag of parts from Kershaw but I haven’t replaced it yet. I just use it as a manual opener for now. They also sent me some of the traction tape inserts. Gotta love Kershaw customer service. Thanks for the great video! Paul
I have 2 Kershaw Blur knives that I bought new. They’re just sitting in my knife collection. You certainly did a good job of refurbishing this Blur, of “saving the life of this old knife.” 👍👍
Ive been carrying a BLUR now, same one, since 2005 . I bought mine and received it directly from Ken Onion at the big NRA show in Houston. I love mine, the blade reminds me of the original BOA he made.
I recently purchased a Kershaw Blur. Excellent video on repairing the blade and on disassembly and reassembly. You are a true master at repair and restoration, I learn something new with every video! Thank you and thank you for your service!
Great Job! I was looking for a reassemble video because i took mine apart to adjust the liner lock but i couldn't get it back together but i got it now THANK YOU
Great work, I love finding old knives and cleaning them up and fixing them if I can. I have an old two bladed pocket knife from Poland a coworker gave me that he found because he knows I love knives, it'll be an interesting challenge
I carry two Tactical Blur's when I'm armed with my CCW pistol. My preference is the Tanto tips with partially serrated blades. They are primarily used as weapon retention tools.
Cool! I just happened upon this vid after cleaning and stropping my Blur this evening. Mine has the partial serrated tanto blade. I thought about taking mine down but didn't have the time. I'm glad I didn't after seeing what a job it is to get back together!😄 Good job on that blade!
Fantastic job getting that back together man I would go nuts trying to get that back together thanks for showing it that was a great video……. Stay well 😊
You did a great job on this Blur! I did want to mention that if the tip repair went South, Kershaw will replace a broken blade for $10 or so. I have not had to send mine in.
It's $25 for blade replacement as of 01DEC23, plus $7 for handling. Regular service only $7. After this video, I'll save the $32 by reshaping my broken blade and lubricating myself!!! It was a garage sale find for $5.
Just picked up a couple of these. They are both so stiff I can't flip them open at all. I have to use two hands just to get them open. Do you think they just need to be taken apart and lubed?
Hi KnifeDoctor! Question: is it better to use white lithium spray on the torsion bar\spring, over say regular lithium grease? If so, why or why not. Cheers!

Remade in America! That's Awesome!😊

Just bought my second blur after losing my first That I had for 12 years. You did that knife justice!
The Blur is a well designed knife!
You sir are a master at your craft! Awesome job. Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Another great refurb.
Thank you!!
@0:55 Just a heads-up, whenver grinding a knife blade be sure to use water to keep it cool. Heat will ruin the heat treat and temper of the blade!!!
Thank you!! I do sometimes when I have to sand a lot. Thanks for the info and the support!
That's really cool. Looks great
Nice knife with a lot of character.
Thank you and Thanks for the support!

Looks like the screw is just too tight. Adjust it.
Very cool!!!

Not really sure man. I just used what I had available. It’s still working good today. I think both are good to use.
@@theknifedoctor OK. Thank you sir!
I like me some Kershaw too!
20 year old blur brought back
Thanks for watching!!
I love videos like this
Thank you!!
Kershaw would have replaced that with a brand new one
Background sound is annoying 👎🏻
Sorry, but I got to have my Weather Radio.
