I failed CAT in 2013.
I took CAT in my final year of undergrad because my father wanted me to!
My heart was not into it and I failed miserably.
I didn't get a call from any of the IIMs!
Later, I realized I picked a battle where the cards were stacked against my skills.
I picked hashtag#GMAT.
Today, I proudly share how it took me 3 attempts to get my GMAT right!
I am a live example of getting my hashtag#career sorted even after having a hard time with exams.
But, my journey with hashtag#MBA admissions made me realize how exams and coaching culture are overhyped in India.
Here is why-
1. As someone who worked in highly intellectual ecosystems such as Boston Consulting Group (BCG), I realized you don't need a 99.9 percentile to be working and thriving in such ecosystems.
2. Nassim Taleb once famously said, "I suspect I.Q., SAT, and grades are hashtag#tests designed by nerds so they can get high scores in order to call each other intelligent".
3. Yesterday, a record 3.3 Lakh students appeared for hashtag#CAT 2023.
Interestingly only 5500 will get a seat in IIMs.
On the one hand, we will congratulate these students for their hard work and success.
On the other hand, should we really feel happy about it?
Just think about it- only 1.5% of folks will get to study business from the top league in India.

Probably mam has never calculated the success percentage of Govt exams like UPSC which has 0.2 % of success rate. But then that's why these exams are tough and glorified.
Everytime one can't do things as per their strength, life is not this fair. Most have to get out of their comfort zone
Yes mam i gave cat exam, even after solving 500 set i cannot solve even 1 set in cat exam. I really feel like looser.

I didn't solve any mock or question was able to solve 20 question, 5 each in DI and QA and 10 in VARC
Hello lady, 5500 seats with 2 lakh candidate appears...than comes the SBI PO exam 14 lakh appeared in 2023 and there were only 2000 seats😂..
Mam if you were not from St.stephen or from ISB would you able to reach that Zenith in your career??

Is it advisable to do International MBA without work experience??
I personally dont advise MBA without work experience- either in India or abroad.
MBA is a professional degree not academic. It only makes sense when you have some exposure of how business world works. Else it just becomes a placement platform- which is what you dont want your 50 lakh+ degree to become !

@@aniruddhaghosh5013There are two sides. For her grapes are sour cuz she couldn't crack it for u it may be because u had to work ur ass off and now u see someone doing great in career without having gone through that hassle.
@@GetupandRise Let me break it down for your nimble mind to understand. The number of people having a "great career" is more than the number of MBAs after cracking CAT (From IIM-ABC). That signifies - cracking CAT exam is not necessary to build a great career. There are multiple avenues to build one today. Like she did her MBA from ISB (which is equally a prestigious institute). But let me break the surprise for you - in either case you have to work your ass off. Just having a MBA deg from a rep insti will give you a tag/platform to build your career form.
