Hello, I'm wondering how to chang batteries on Mamiya ZE. I tried to push it but failed. ZE's battery holder is a little bit different from the battery holder of ZE-X's, and I found nothing about changing batteries on the internet. I'll appreciate it if you can help me😊
I don't have a ZE right now to verify with, but do I recall correctly that the ZE has the magainze-style thingthat pops out of the bottom and holds four LR44 batteries? If so, if it's stuck, it means you either have swollen or exploded batteries. You will need to carefully pull it out with a screwdriver or needlenose pliers. If the batteries have leaked and it's contained to the magazine, then you can clean that with distilled white vinegar.
Hi! love the video, just bought a "faulty oner" a quick battery swap and maintnance around the mirror helped the mechanism to start working, BUT I have aproblem with the ISO dial, its loose and got off the mechanism, and since its very plasticky inside, Im nost rerally sure how to put it together so it stays in place. Have you had any similar experience? Thanks!
For some reason my camera’s film advance lever doesn’t rotate completely. It gets stuck-very stuck- after rotating a quarter turn. It feels like I will break it off if I try to force it. Why.
Hello! I found one today at the Thriftstore for $39.99 ... didn't buy it but doing my research on them. Just got into photography not too long ago and never shot film. Is it expensive to buy the film and to get it developed? Where am I even able to purchase it and where would you develope it. The camera they sell is the "Mamiya ZE" model.
Good questions! Film is still pretty easy to find. In the US, most camera stores stock out. Also, Freestyle Photo, B&H, and Amazon sell it. I buy almost all my film from Freestyle with a little from B&H and Mike's Camera. Developing it with a lab is pretty easy. Old School Photo Lab in Dover, NH, and The Darkroom are both good options. A number of others exist, too.
@@DavidHancock ok awesome! Didn't know every film fits into every model! What do you think about the price point? Wish you were there to see if it's in a good condition :D it did look good indeed I just don't know if its actually gonna work!
@@tessschwarz1140 Any 35mm film will work, yes. For the price, of you can negotiate 5-10 off, that would be even better. Before you buy, test it. Bring enough (I forget the number, either 2 or 4 for the ZE) A76 batteries. Also read the manual, which is available online for free, first. Pop the batteries in and see if it works like the manual describes. That's probably the best purchasing advice I can give.
Hi there! I need a little bit help. 🙈 got my ZE-X today, did multiple exposure mode and suddenly the lever and the shutter didn’t work anymore. Can’t even find in the manual what needs to be done. 🤦♀️ do you or anyone know what I can do? In the viewer I see M. Maybe I did something wrong when I wanted to leave the multiple exposure mode?
Hey! Did you solve your problem? I've just got my ze-x, advanced it, but couldn't shot. Self timer works, but after timer ends nothing happens... In viewfinder I see everything depend on mode(aperture, shutter speed, P while Programm mode)
@@DavidHancock I didn't get around to my whitty comment about it yet. The only reason the camera doesn't work is because you broke it. Their R&D team should filter all their products through you first to see if it can hold up to the rigors of a harsh environment. If it can pass this test then it's suitable for consumer release. My money well spent on Patreon. It's better than watching NASCAR for crashes, and cheaper to boot.
Thank you David, i am looking forward to see part 2!
Thank you!

I have not. I'd check with the Fix Old Cameras channel on that. He knows more about Mamiya cameras than anyone on TH-cam.
@@DavidHancock wow thanks!
@@DavidHancock do you know any way to contact him aside of comment sections? I cant seem to find anything

Are you at the end of your roll of film?
No, I just put a new roll in. I have two cameras with the same problem so i think its user error

The crossover system is so quirky!!
Concur. It's a good idea and fun, just weird.
@@DavidHancock I ended up just getting a Minolta X500. Aperture priority is all I need.
I had one of these and let it go. I really wish it was a better camera just based on how it looks. I love the the design of it physically.
I completely agree. And the capabilities agree great. They just have lots of weaknesses in the construction and electronics.
Wow, you picked the nightmare camera... or a gag gift to someone you want to have issues... I think I'll get one for my brother.. !
Yeah, this is not one that I could recommend with a good conscience.
First
So I finally drop a camera in a video and I don't get anything about that?
