    To me this is the purest love in all the Star Wars universe. The love of a father for his child, ready to abandon everything he had grown up to believe and to uphold, to bare his face and his soul to the world, to make himself vulnerable in every way so he could hold his baby once more, knowing he would have to give him up in the end. Din's love for Grogu is unconditional and selfless. This show is brilliant.

      It shows how Din and Bo-Katan are polar opposites. He´s such a good, caring, humble, selfless person, while she´s manipulative, selfish, arrogant, spineless, power-hungry and also the only real zealot around. If she got the darksaber, I would riot.

    The image of Din, standing there alone, all worn out and teary eyed, seeing the most precious gift in his life, go on his way, is still haunting me. Our lone, stoic hero who didn’t even know what he needed till Grogu came into his life, has changed forever. He has sacrificed everything for him and now he is left with nothing. No Grogu, no ship, no nothin’. The most selfless act of love ever. It broke my 💔

      @MortMe0430 3 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      That's honestly why I wasn't as fond of this finale as a lot of other people are. Someone on tumblr said it perfectly- after having lost or given up everything emotionally meaningful to him- the ship, his (former?) interpretation of the Creed, now Grogu his kid- it feels like he's been stripped of his whole identity and emotionally killed off. Then only thing still tying him to his own show is the business with Mandalore / the darksaber, and that's not nearly as compelling as his relationship with the kid.

      I think that's the beauty of this story. Grogu broke all his walls - revived him to be a human being again. For so long, Din had to be stoic + practical to survive, altho you can see how compassionate he was giving a chunk of his earnings to the foundlings. He had to be cold to be a bounty hunter. But Grogu changed all that. Not only do you see him with his helmet off -- the breaking free of the cult. You see him tearing up: the antithesis of all that was wrong in his life. He has bonded again; he has a family. He's free of being a machine. Now, Mando can rebuild, then go get Grogu.

    Mando and Grogu’s relationship is the most beautiful story in all SW Universe. Their bond is very special. I’m very sad and angry because I would have loved that Mando and Grogu didn’t get separated. Their relationship was the heart of the show. A badass mandalorian with a heart of gold that loves his son more than anything and that are trying to survive and fight in the « wild west » part of the galaxy. This story was beautiful. How many people fail to realise how beautiful this story is?

    • @rickblaine9670

      Yes, but the fact that they separate in the end is a vital part of the story’s beauty. Mando did everything to help Grogu find a better and safer life, and now he made it.

      @@rickblaine9670 Mando and Grogu’s story was just at the beginning. They could have share lots of adventures together. I’ve heard this argument before “part of the beauty of their story is that is ended” Why? Explain me why because I have had this argument before, and at the end it’s just people who dislike the story. Just because you dislike the story don’t make subterfuges and excuses. George Lucas said “Star Wars is about family” and we had the most amazing little family in the Star Wars Universe.

This child needs stability, Luke should have found a way to train him while keeping him with his father. Children shouldn’t be separated from loving parents. It’s going to mess with him, he’s already been hurt too much. But they must intend to reunite them because I can’t believe they’d allow this baby to be killed by Kylo REN, and if they don’t bring Grogu back in season 3, how will they release a series three of The Bounty Collection Child figures? ?!?

      The way I see it, is that we're seeing and now understanding the perspective when a parent, like Din, are giving up their children to become a Jedi. It must have fucking hurt, this separation. That so many parents too give up (of did they have to?) their children to become a Jedi once the child is strong with the Force thing. As I think we are feeling Din's emotion on a more emotional level for us to feel. I don't know a lot about the Star Wars lore, but do the younglings, who are trained to become a Jedi, ever get to see their parents or even visit them during their training years? I've always wonder that. But then again, back during Anakin's younger years, they were taught this important practice to not have any attachments or some kind of controlling their feelings at the Jedi Temple before most of the Jedis were whipped out. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

      @@rachelh9550 Luke didn't object to Din saying he'd see Grogu again. We don't know what Luke's views are on the subject, and it is likely that there are changes being made. He can pretty much make whatever changes he sees fit to make. Now, I don't think they can let the sequels happen anymore. It's clear that they are of a mutually-exclusive tone, theme, and overall feel than the "Mando-verse" that Favreau has set up. The sequels are being ignored and no new projects are set in their timeline. It's super clear that people want Mando, Luke, and Grogu now, not MaRey Sue Palpatine. Disney is under tremendous fan pressure to not only cut the Kennedy-verse crap, but to give us more content consistent with the world Favreau set up.
      Also, Disney needs money very, very badly. The theme parks, cruise ships, and normal movie theaters are basically out of operation, and they will take years to fully recover, if they ever fully recover at all. Streaming is their lifeline, and The Mandalorian set the standard for that. Going with Kennedy's storyline is financial suicide for Star Wars at this point. As she's still in charge, they've dropped ambiguous hints as to where events are leading to, but if they decide that the hints aren't going to the sequels, it still works.

      @@Nonamearisto Right. Luke is not like Mace Windu or Obi-Wan Kenobi. His emotions are well-controlled, but he has compassion, something the Old Republic Jedi sorely lacked. They certainly showed none for Anakin; they didn't trust him or fully accept him, they didn't befriend him, they didn't love him. Luke's had love from an early age: a family that raised him, his friends, and his sister. He feels love for all of them, but is not dark and obsessive like his father; he is more like his mother, Padme. For now, he must train Grogu and teach him to master his skills, be independent, and control his emotions so he never feels co-dependence on someone else. Luke won't be cold, stern, and emotionless; he will be kind, fair, and caring--in a balanced way. He will teach Grogu well. When Grogu learns Luke's way, he will be able to protect himself--and he and Din will be able to see each other again.

    I don’t care what y’all say this is the best fridging daddy son relationship you can have. It went from being his blunting to being his only priority. The ending is devastating. The saddest part is “I’ll see you again... I promise” and “alright pal it’s time to go.. don’t be afraid” I swear there relationship is amazing, he legit TOOK HIS HELMET OFF FOR HIM. I love din and the kid. I also love the actor which is a +.
